Does anyone else feel awkward leaving after a trade?

Ah, I feel that way sometimes. Both as a host and as a visitor. I try to make sure I at least get a "See you!" or "See ya!" in there before I end session, as a host, and I try to make sure they're ready to go.
I think it's a base assumption most of the time that the host ends the session. But some people, like myself, can be a little slow when they're trying to type out messages and it feels like the other people might just be waiting for you to end the session. lol Visiting-wise, I try to stand by the host and wait for some kind of cue, definitely saying thanks and letting them know that I'm finished.
I feel that it's all good in the end, so long as both the host and visitor(s) are polite to one another.

Yes, omg, all the time. It's a really awkward experience for me! Several times, I've already said goodbye, and I'm waiting for the host to end the session. But it doesn't seem like they're going to, so I go inside the train station, and for some reason, THEN they end it. Not that that's a huge inconvenience or anything, it just makes me a little worried I did something wrong.

I used to feel that way, but i've been doing it so long that it doesn't bother me anymore.
The first time i made a trade ( it was also the first time having a visitor) I was terrified.lol.
The visitor wouldn't leave.He was waiting for me to send him home.I didn't even know you could do that.

Neither did I! At first, anyway. It's just so awkward having them stand there or vice versa to me!
Omg, thank you for starting this topic! I have never done a trade yet but I think about this stuff all the time, because I know I will eventually. Like do I use the chat??? I guess after seeing this I'll try to at least throw in a little 'thanks' or 'bye', but I seriously have no idea what's expected when trading with a stranger. It's kind of a relief to see that others find it awkward as well, and it's not just me thinking about it too much.
I don't feel awkward, but I always wonder if the person is going to end the trade or if they want me to walk back to the train station. I compromise this by walking back and if they end the trade then that just makes it quicker for me. Really though, I've never had anyone make me walk back before, everyone has always ended the situation manually.
I feel awkward sometimes too. I say thanks and just leave, not sure what else is there. Unless they request or ask, I don't wander around people's towns after a trade - I know it feels weird having a stranger linger around your town, hoping they follow your rules and not destroy anything.
For me, I don't want to take up their time or make them feel awkward that way. I really don't mean to upset anyone just leaving right away after a trade, but if there is some mistake or something I did, you can PM me about it.

I find it so awkward that I thank the person I traded with as well as an emoticon. If they don't reply, I understand they think it's awkward and leave. If they do reply, I give them a few seconds and then I leave
Omg, I'm laughing so hard. Best way to end a trade.
