I do, I can keep tabs on how far behind me people are and what items they have. It's almost unfair, because I can see Blue Shells coming and be sure the person in second gets whacked by them too. It's also useful to counter incoming items, I know when a Red Shell is coming so I can release my counter-banana. You could practically play the game just looking at the bottom screen, and sometimes I do if my character gets hit by some Blooper Ink. My question is do you use it regularly, or do you basically ignore it?
