Do you TT? For what reason?

I TT'd for moving out villagers and to get a specific cherry blossom recipe that I had missed. I also attempted trying the campsite method in order to get Olivia, but gave up after while. At this point I have decided to not TT anymore since I'm afraid that it would take the fun out of the game for me fairly soon. The only exception to this rule would be if a villager has already asked to move out naturally and I want to speed up the process. What bothered me most about TT was how the count of the days played went up, I feel like I got achievements there for cheating 😅

i time travel normally because there’s lots of things i need to do ingame, also because i would easily get bored from not doing it!

Yes, once. A family member suddenly passed away during Easter and I was unable to do anything for few weeks. After initial shock phase, I tried to get my daily life back little by little and wanted to go back to day I was left on and haven’t time traveled back to current day, because I wanted to experience the game on a day basis. Meaning I’m currently two weeks behind everyone, but so far I have been able to experience Earth Day and May Day this and the last week.

Even though I was uncertain if I could access May Day due being time traveled backwards and the actual event having ended long time ago, I was able to get the ticket, finished the maze on the sixth day, met Rover and took many pics of us and got the suitcase. For now, I have no desire to play multiple days in one day or time travel immidietly to the current day as I want to play on day basis and take it slow.

Until NH I didn't time travel, it just didn't occur to me. 99% of the time I still play naturally, the only exception being when I need a plot open of I have the chance to get a villager I really want. And then I only time travel the two weeks needed to get a villager to move out. If I do this, I don't go looking on the shops or catch and new seasonal bugs or fish, I do it for the one purpose only.

Otherwise, I feel like I am cheating the game, and I want to acquire everything else naturally. I sometimes even feel guilty about trading for certain items xd It's stupid, I know, but I have never done that in past games (and I really needed Stonehenge - Gulliver gives out way too many items for the chance of getting the only item I want from him to be high).

I only ever TT'd once to adopt Zucker from someone and that was literally TT'ing by 1 day.
Other than that, I have never TT'd.
The moment I started TT'ing in NL, I started to lose interest in the game - sure, I could get more things done on a particular day and it was really fun at first, but then I would eventually run out of things to do.
That's just me though and everyone's brain works differently but knowing this, I don't feel inclined to TT.

I didn't want to at first because I remember TTing as kid/teen discovering cheating with WW and it got out of hand haha.

I cave in to cycle a villager out though, I couldn't stand her and really wanted to adopt a specific villager. Now that I'm happy with my island I'm planning on not doing that again, keeping villagers until I get their pictures then letting some of them go naturally so I can meet new ones.

I also TTed to move buildings faster, and I would 100% do it again. Sometimes I just realise I want to change a whole neighborhood, and waiting 4 entire days to be able to make those changes drive me crazy.

I follow some rules people have stated before though, and I don't TT more than a month forward or enter new seasons, don't check my shops or pick DIYs...

Again, my position on this mostly come from my past experience. TTing actively leads me to go through the game too fast and in too much of a frenzy, and I can only keep up with this playstyle for so long, then I get completely burnt out and bored with it.

I timetraveled to restore my progress on my new island, but now that I'm done I won't timetravel anymore.

No. I did in New Leaf and it just ruined the pace of the game for me. Nothing against anyone else doing it, people play differently.

I TT less in this game than previous entries because of the patch model. Previously, I'd play the game for 2-3 months at a time and TT through a year or so, playing each day at varied times. (I would rack up many hundreds of hours of playtime still.) But now there's less point because they haven't added the events and things.

Things I've TTed for:
* Back a few hours to get to the Able Sisters (I rarely do this, but there have been a few days where I missed them because I was having a really, really bad day, and it eased my frustration. This was also back when I didn't have as much clothing, so there was always a lot to buy, so it was something I'd put off a lot.)
* I looped Redd yesterday a bunch to get fake and real art I was interested in. I had a lot of fun doing it. I stopped though because I want to have reasons to look forward to seeing Redd, and hopefully the devs will up his availability in the future.
* I ticked the day back and forth to get a photo I've been trying since the start of the game for. (Not super proud of this but it did make me happy to get it.)

I don't really have the urge to TT forward like before, I have a lot to get done in real time. My chores take up a lot of my time in game, and I'm very slow to decorate etc. for some reason. Having no events would just kill my interest, so I don't TT. I spend a lot of hours playing with my partner each day too. Without that, I might be bored by now (or have worked hard on my other goals and be itching to see more things.)

i tt’d a while back to summer because i wanted to catch sharks lmao. but now, i only tt if i want to boot a villager out or if i missed a day ;;

For so, so many reasons. The pace of this game is too slow in multiple areas. Being only able to order 5 furniture items a day is severely limiting when decorating your island. Moving villager houses to test stuff out without TT would take weeks real time. Inviting a villager with Amiibo takes ridiculously long to move in. Redd barely showing up makes it really difficult to complete an art collection without trading and even with TT Redd still rarely shows up. Demolishing a project takes an entire day and halts progress on that area. There's a lot more I am probably forgetting but those are pretty important to me.

I started out time traveling *only* for villagers because I thought I couldn't enjoy the game if I didn't get to play with villagers that I liked, but then it ruined other aspects of the game for me personally, so I reset and stopped time traveling. So far I've gone like two weeks without time traveling on a new island, that's only 13 days old. I'm pretty happy. I have nothing against time travel even though I stopped and I'm happy that there are still others willing to do it because it does benefit non-time travelers in many ways and also makes the people who need to time travel happy. I want everyone to have fun!

I don't TT because I find the game more enjoyable in the "regular" way. If I had TT I'd probably have stopped playing by now.

I do not TT I did in the past gamecube game, but found I got bored and the game lost its meaning. I actuly enjoy one day at a time okay it allows for natural flpws and rythem to happen

I mainly TT to kick villagers out that I have saved for friends.

Other than that, I will loop Redd for art, and Celeste for DIYs since I tend to go to bed early, and end up missing her. ;w;/
But I restrict myself to only stay within the current month so I don't run out of things to do for the coming months.

I starting TTing because I had to move buildings and didn't want to wait an entire day. Then I continued because I started to decorate my items and did not like the 5 a day limit. THEN, I starting TTing again because I was cycling out villagers. Now I just can't stop lol. I love to TT and I'm currently in August. I'll go back when the new events come out next month.

Caved into TT’ing to get villagers out. The 15ish day thought 💭 bubble mechanic is wretched! :D
