Port or a Deluxe Version of New Leaf? You know, since Switch is getting lots of remakes and Deluxe Ports maybe this AC could be...

I mean, don't misunderstand me, i want a whole new version, but i'm a little afraid? That this new game ends up being a New Leaf Port.

I don't think so. I feel like this would've been told to us already. I don't think Nintendo has ever really bait-and-switched us on something like that before. However, I do think the game will have its similarities with NL on more than just a gameplay level. I think it will have graphics similar to what we saw in those little teasers, otherwise they wouldn't bothered to have shown them to us.

The Tweet about this game told us it would be a 'new mainline' game, but of course City Folk also counted as a new mainline game. So, I don't really know. But, I don't think it will be as similar to NL as CF was to WW.

They've already clarified that the Switch version will be an entirely NEW mainline entry into the series for the console, and won't be a port or a slightly improved version of NL, it will be completely brand spanking new.

I know it was already confirmed that it's a completely new game, but if it was actually just a NL deluxe, I'd be super sad lmao.

Like, yeah I would buy it still, but it'd be super disappointing seeing the same things, but with more content and better graphics

I feel like that would be what happened if there had been an Animal Crossing for Wii U, because it would've been rushed. There was only 3 years in between Wild World and City Folk, which I feel like had a lot to do with it being Wild World deluxe - and what would've happened with an Animal Crossing on the Wii U. This time, with 6/7 years in between, it should definitely be a whole new game (but I am still relieved it's confirmed to be entirely new).

i think nintendo realizes how disloyal that would be to do to fans who have been waiting for years to have a new main series game so they wouldnt do that

but its also worrying that a lot of hats and stuff are being made in pocket camp lately so i guess we won't be seeing brand new rendered models for everything in the switch game since it would be a pain for them to recreate everything they've made with pocket camp and happy home designer. im not too sad about this tho since the models are perfectly fine

They've only ported games that released on the Wii U that could have sold well but didn't sell well because they were on the Wii U in an attempt to make them sell well.

Thankfully, they said that is going to be a entirely new game, would have been pretty disappointing
to be honest if it would have been a slightly better version of New Leaf or something like that.
