Do you store you turnips/ DIYs indoors or outdoors?

Outdoors, usually right outside the airport as I have a big empty space there for trading and what not. Helps to have them close by so I can quickly find them and pick them up if I end up selling them on someone else's island.
Edit: I just saw the DIY part oops :x for DIY's I tend to store them in my house so people who visit my island can't steal them, but I've got to admit I've had to place quite a few outside as well now because I've run out of space ;-;

I stored my turnips in a designated farm area outside but recently decided I wanted to build something there instead of leaving it empty most of the week so I used the field flooring and ivy wallpaper to turn my basement into a little garden

Indoors because I usually buy turnips in small quantities and have no need for dumping them outside. Plus, it's to make sure my sister doesn't take my turnips.

When i buy turnips i usually sell them as soon as possible, sometimes i buy them and I’m next in queue for an island with a high selling price. I sometimes TT on whim and forget about turnips so I try not to keep any >.<
&& I’ve left all my diys on my beach, surrounded by fencing :c I have waaaay too many to leave in my house and you cant store them sadly
I once made the mistake of leaving them unfenced and someone I invited had gone through them all. x.x

I once made the mistake of leaving them unfenced and someone I invited had gone through them all. x.xAll over my basement. I don’t buy many so its not a terrible inconvenience but it feels a little sloppy. Let me store them in a cooler or fridge! Oh, what am I saying? Refrigerators are for clothes.
lol i use a cooler outside to change clothes.... on special days i want to wear a fancy scarf!!!

I have a field of turnips outside! I lock them up in a lil gated section next to my airport for easy access so I don't have to run around so much if I need multiple trips.

OH! DiYs inside for sure. Save the ones that are super common. I set those ones outside, infront of my vending machines by the airport for freebies.

I don't bother with turnips since I time travel.
But DIY recipes I store inside- I did outside at first, but I have way too many, and I've been remodeling my island a lot. So, instead I sacrificed one of my side character's attics.
...They REALLY need to let us put them in storage

Because I can't check all prices because of work, I've been selling on turnip exchange on Sunday nights, so I'm not holding those for long.
I made a few stalls to hold DIY cards, and any extra I keep in my pockets. I use those for take 1/leave 1 when I visit other islands. Even if I don't take any, I'll usually drop 1-2 cards.

I've just been keeping my turnips on the ground near my house but I've been thinking of doing a little garden/farm area next to nooks cranny and put them there so I don't have to go all the way back to the other side of the island when the prices are good. For DIY's I just sell the duplicates so they don't take up any space for me
I have some DIY stored in my house, but not as many as when I first started. After a while I just decided to sell them all and keep only the rarest ones I already learned. I found no one really wanted to bother with most of the DIY I saved and posted for trades/swaps. So they were just a waste of space.

I always stored my turnips on the ground outside. I always bought a lot so putting them in the house wouldn't even be enough room. For DIY, I started off with putting them all outside for my friends to pick at but as it grew and grew I had no more room to terraform so I moved them all inside. But I couldn't even find people to give them to so I made my alt character learn them and the dupes of the dupes are now stored outside again
