I recently got new neighbors and because we live on a hill, and there are many conjoined houses, I see maybe more neighbors than others.

I have some neighbors that are very quiet, they have dogs but I don't mind that, I love dogs, even those that bark non stop.

There is a house in front that changed of owners a few times, but it's always a loud family that live there, the kind that argue, curse and fight in their driveway.

I have even more loud neighbors on the corner, it's like 3-4 men in their 30, listening to 80' music, the same playlist every day, super loud, and sometimes they play with fireworks at 3am on a week day, or they cut woods shirtless with a chainsaw late in the evening.

For a while, I had neighbors teenagers that climb on their roof to drink beer, yell and play with firecracker but they seem to have calm down.

New neighbors are kinda strange, they don't know what to do with their garbages, today they put their bin on the top of the wall separing us where it could fall on our cars anytime. They made a huge hole in another neighbor's driveway and did nothing about it, they just sit and look at him repare it, just like they just sit and look at me shoveling their sand invading our backyard each time it rains, they stole our stones to put them under their tires, they can't park the car without bumping in everything. Public danger. They are loud too, sometimes I think they talk next to my bed.

What about you?

There’s this one family that is really obnoxious and shouts and screams all the time when they do anything. Even the parents. Not like they are upset but when they’re just talking or playing outside. Also the kids are mean and one of them insulted my drawing.

Nope, I used to before we moved, but thankfully we ended up moving somewhere that's pretty quiet.

Not anymore. I used to have neighbors who constantly yelled at each other and had noisy kids, but now I live in a house in a mostly quiet neighborhood and rarely hear a thing. It’s nice being free from apartment living.

At least for the apartment I live at now, since I live in a college town they can be a bit rowdy with cars and partying but I can't say it bothers me that much. Most annoying things will be riding their big bikes up a ramp loudly somewhat late but it's not that often

Yes! All of my neighbors have been nothing but wonderful....and then new people moved directly next door. They seem sweet. However, they have 5 dogs.

I love dogs, don't get me wrong. I have one. I know they bark and it doesn't bother me. Ever since these people have moved in though, one dog SCREECHES every morning before 8 nonstop. It sounds like it's being murdered. Other neighbors have thought it was goats being slaughtered.

Turns out what I thought was one dog, was 5 puppies (in addition to the 5 adults I saw on move in). They bred their huskies and the puppies are the source of the screeching. Not only that, they escape. Despite the very large wooden fence they built their first day here, these puppies escape and screech everywhere. Other neighbors have told me they've found them in their yard.

I'm too socially awkward to confront them. I also don't want to be mean. I wish they would at least make an effort to contain the pups better for their safety. Maybe at least bring them inside after they've done their business so they don't screech.

I don't know. Everyone else is fine though!

I used to live in hell:
- there was this lady that since the first night we moved in, started screaming out of nowhere while doing "her things in bed". Obviously, in the nights, at 1 am, 2 am, 5 am... And it was a giant scream out of nowhere... It wasn't cool to hear while sleeping.
- above us, we had this couple that had parties EVERY SINGLE DAY, from dinner to 4am. Even with tv at max volume, we could hear them move their chair, laugh, scream every single night.
- in summer, we couldn't keep the windows opened because there was a couple on the last floor where I think the husban worked in a restaurant and every night he came back home after work at 4.am, he used to go outside in the balcony and start screaming and swearing with her wife.
- in the apartment near our left side, there was a violent husband/son screaming with his wife and mother and breaking EVERYTHING every day.
- on the other side, a guy talking to the phone with a big big voice FOR 3-4 HOURS NON STOP.
- we had the entrance/exit of the elevator and the stairs in front of our apartment, so we had kids running, screaming in front of our house.

I had 2 mental breakdown in that apartment, I couldn't sleep at night, even in the day. Sometimes I had to ask to my boyfriend to get out and go to a desert place with the car so I could sleep in the car 🥹

Now we don't have giant problems with neighbours, but we have a main road in front of the house and since we are in countryside (it is a small town) it is FULL of people (teens and adults) with scooters and motorbikes with modified exhausts that make noises so loud that you can hear them even far away and with windows closed. The problem is that since it's a main road, you must hear them ALL DAY LONG.

There was one night where this guy started going up and doing the road at midnight doing wheelies in front of our house... We called the police and they said they received tons of reports about this, but here we are after 2 month, with the exact same situation. This will never change, unfortunately...

Not really. On rare occasions it will sound like one of the neighbors way behind me is throwing a party and if I didn't go to sleep at a normal time, this becomes a problem because I can hear them from my bed. Thankfully this is not a common occurrence.
Another neighbor has gotten a parrot that randomly screams. That hasn't prevented me from sleeping yet, but I thought I would mention it.

😂

Omg my neighbors, some great, some not. It changes. When we first moved here, across the street was nothing but forest, farms down the road, and on one side was cows/pasture. Now the forest and one cow pasture is all gone, and we are surrounded by nice houses and lots of people. It's ended up with some interesting clashes.

One neighbor has lots of farm animals, and when the goats/cows get out, they like to eat the landscaping of the new houses that were built on the street. Then the new people don't really do the "neighborly" thing and call/msg the person to come get their cows - they call 'the law', who really don't want to deal with cows and goats. This all gets "discussed" on the town facebook page. 😂

Then we have people who moved out to "the country" to do whatever they want. So we have the loud car audio systems you hear miles away, the off-road vehicles, the "louder the better" cars and trucks that have modified exhausts. All added to the usual farm noises of roosters, dogs, and the donkey. I've ordered a bluetooth sleeping mask to go over my earplugs at night. Hoping it's awesome.

A lot of people shoot (a lot) for target practice here. My direct neighbors set up their targets against a hill, and they seem to have decent aim, so I don't have to worry. I appreciate that.
Some people shoot tannerite though, which makes a huge boom. It's ridiculously loud and super annoying when you're not expecting it. 😂

Not annoying per se but one of my neighbors will talk your ear off if you let him. He's always like "oh! I almost forgot!" And keeps yapping. My dad often talks to this dude for like an hour and it's more like him being talked AT

If you're not a drug dealer then I consider you a good neighbour. My one neighbour below us has 3 kids under the age of 5 and they all love to scream, but hey there's no drug or gang activities going on down there so that's good enough for me

i have good neighbours around except for one, he is extremely picky and kept complaining to the local council about our backyard landscaping.. it was horrible. nothing was wrong with it but we had to comply or he would keep complaining. it was a headache and money was wasted but now he complains less but has a super messy backyard which ruins the street. and the had to nerve to tell us to make our backyard perfect. he’s got gutters just sitting in his yard! and a shipping container, a random door, loose jetski, broken car etc. just so annoying.

My neighbors love to hit their hammers and grind whatever metal they want to grind from 8PM onwards. There's also those loud motorcycles that always pass by Every. Single. Day. I wanna slash their tires so bad.

Poor little me saying we don't have problems now 🥹 New neighbors arrived literally 2 days ago and gosh. When presenting theirselves in the group chat, they said "we have exuberant kids".
Exuberant: they ignore them all day long while they cry, scream and stomp their feet on the ground, plus they let them go out of the house (in the common section of the building) and let them beat eachother, scream and cry in front of our house.

Usually, when you are in a new place you tend to be quiet, pay attention... If this is their start, I don't want to know what will happen in one month.

Plus, in Italy we have "silence hours". They usually are from 10pm to 7am and from 12/1pm to 3pm. They start to move things, destry stuff etc every day at 12pm and finish at 3pm. They literally use silence hours to make construction/moving works.

Lol I'd MUCH MUCH MUCH rather have drug dealers than screaming kids. I can't stand screaming kids.

Anyway, I live in the boonies and the houses are all decently far apart so everyone minds their own business. We got lucky with the good neighbors we have! There's only a neighbor across the street and one neighbor on one side. There's no backyard neighbor and the other side of our house has a railroad track so no one there either.

all of my neighbors are quiet and nice. EXCEPT one of my next door neighbors. they’re nice but they occasionally throw really blaringly loud parties until like 4 am despite promising not to do it anymore. that just happened this week and my brother had to sleep in the basement to tune them out.

I don't even know my neighbors all that well, but what I do know is that they have four dogs that like to bark out loud a lot for a while.

Even their toddler son is more quiet and mature than the dogs...

I have a stalker neighbor who constantly watches me and records me. They always go on about getting me in trouble with the law or county in some capacity. I've never done anything to them, but for some reason they decided I was their target one day and it's just been a thing since then. I hate that man. I don't get how someone can be so miserable in life that they have to go out of their way to try to make others miserable.

Occasionally. We have neighbors that like to get nosey now and then. Like call people names when they drive by or allow thier animals to run around and attack people or damage property. Or ask around about their animal not coming home after intentionally letting them out everyday. And other things that are too specific in nature..
It's stuff that doesn't happen all the time, but often enough to be annoying. Most of the time people keep to themselves but you have one or two who cause drama.
