Do you have a theme?

I would've say I really have a theme to my island. It's more of a feeling and progression.

The area around the airport and RS is most built up, since that was the first area populated. Crossing the river to the villager neighborhoods, it's developed, but a bit more natural. The animals have cozy homes, but it isn't as cleared. Going up the cliffs to my house, it's even less developed. Lots of forest, natural paths, and my house carved out of a clifftop area.

I want it to feel like the farther away from the airport you get, the less intervention with the natural state there is.

My theme is supposed to be sort of spooky, but my lack of items isn't helping that idea bloom..

So far I've just been doing a natural, foresty theme... but I've been considering trying to make it a Legend of Zelda themed island, probably Ocarina of Time specifically since that game holds great personal significance for me :) I already know which bit I would turn into the Lost Woods...

But for now, I'm not 100% set on it nor have concrete plans, as terraforming overwhelms me and I'm still preoccupied on getting my dreamies and perfecting my house :v Although I've spent hundreds of hours playing AC over the years, my playstyle was pretty casual and I was never very involved with the community before this game, so I don't have much experience with designing a town. ;w;

I also haven't seen any evidence of the LoZ items existing in this game, which doesn't help... way back in WW i have the triforce and master sword proudly displayed in my house, and in NL the fortune cookies made it very easy to get memorabilia of other games. Really hoping that classic furniture sets + themed items will return in a later update 😕

Mines a mixture of different themes. I plan on having:
- A seaside/beach themed area
- A star beach + galaxy themed park
- A Japanese-themed neighborhood
- A Victorian garden-themed area

I did general themes (like autumn and forest) in new leaf for my 2nd and 3rd towns. For my first play through of the game, I'd like to be relatively carefree with my designing and not stick so hard to a plan. In the future once I get my fair share of playtime in I'll probably redo everything to make it a cohesive theme though!

This won't be the theme for my entire island, but for my town I decided to go for small/romantic town vibes. As such, to try to get that small town vibe across, I stayed very true to my native flora. I use only windflowers (and their hybrids), orange trees, regular trees, and weeds in my decorating. I've also kept the colors very warm and pay a lot of attention to small details to get it across. I think it's been pretty successful in the areas I've done so far, but it's slow work. (: The entrance from the airport is kinda diamond shaped, with orange trees and windflowers surrounding a path that has more windflowers and one of the signs that has arrows in every direction. I have K.K. Love Song playing from every corner, and it's been super nice because the entrance feels very opening to a fantasy video game to me.

at the beginning, i was aiming for a super vibrant island with fruit trees everywhere and hybrid tulips but now i think i’m going for a more mellow theme? i’m planning on having different breeds of pink hybrids with camilla bushes and a brown floral pathway so if my theme is kinda aiming for girly? not exactly sure what else to call it lol

I turned my island into an environmental reserve/national park/protected area. It's as natural as I can make it look, and the whole idea is that the animals themselves moved to the island and they claimed their own areas based on theirs species and personality.

I'm going for a vacation/tropical theme! I kinda regret it and I can definitely change it because my island is basically blank right now but I chose the name Lahua to emulate a Hawaiian island feel. In the past I've gone for a natural forest vibe but now I'm thinking of going more cottage style getaway. I'm very open to suggestions right now so please let me know of any themes that go with the name Lahua!!

The idea is a tiki tourist island that gets ransacked by pirates/outlaws.

It starts off like a sailor town where it's kind of grimy and then as you move away from the town center, it'll become a dense forest where the "warlord" lives.

I'll see how this works out since I'll be making all my custom designs. :poop:

I thought of going for an elegant garden park in the past, until I realized it can't work out as I think it can. So now i'm just making it as good as possible.

i decided on a maritime theme! i just really love the feel of those seaside towns here in canada, and think it would be cute to have something like that in AC.

Cozy murder mystery. Like one of those quaint british villages from Midsomer Murders or Miss Marple, all brick and hedges, cute little gardens, and everyone dressed up in tweed, but I'm gonna hide a murder scene somewhere, and I've been slowly teaching all my villagers to say things like "There's been a murder!", refer to me as detective, or bad-mouth each other.

I spent entirely too long last night making a custom pattern that says 'The Drunken Vicar' to put outside my pub in an old english font (the smoothing function kept making the letters look weird lol)

That sounds really subtle and nice! Would love to see pics, or a chance to visit :D

the lack of themed sets is hindering me from having a theme, so yeah, my theme currently is working with what i have and making things up as i go.

I'm not trying to focus on a theme, but mainly I am trying to regain the feel of my NL town and build it further. Eventually I want to focus on some fun things to do.

i originally wanted a scenecore theme before realizing thats kinda hard to do in animal crossing atm. so now its more of a cutesy rainbow anime theme, with rainbow paths and pink stepping stones etc

Port town surrounded by tropical wildland with pirate influences. Essentially going for a desert island theme on a game about being on a desert island. I'm a genius, I know. :P

I was raised by sailors and grew-up on the seaside. I'm also obsessed with pirate media. It's fitting.

I’m going for an island that has a Lady Gaga theme , focusing more on her main albums that go from The Fame to Chromatica (and not cheek to cheek or a star is born)

So far Im having quite a lot of trouble with the idea tho :”^]
