Nope. I'm too cheap and scared to approach them.

No. I always think that they are fake and try to scam people when they ask for handouts of money instead of jobs/food/clothing.

Not directly because a lot are indeed fake here, but I've given some to an organization for homeless and poor people here(and I also buy from those stores that use their money to help them).

yeah but not more than $10 just in case and i wont approach them if im alone

so you gonna pull a nice coat and a job out of ur pocket on the street?

Sometimes, but once I didn't have any change and he said "it's okay, I've got plenty of change" and pulled out a wallet with heaps and heaps of money (more then what I had!) So I wouldn't want to be scammed, but as long as they're legit, I would want to help.

I usually don't but there was this one time I went travelling I gave them some money. I usually on a daily basis don't have much money xD

I usually do. There's a lot of homeless people here who sell a cool magazine about homeless people and homeless-related events, and they get a flat cut of each sold issue. I always buy it whenever I have the money.

Usually we offer them food, either to buy it or from our shopping carts, some will be very thankful and take some and others will get mad and say no. I think sometimes that's the way you can tell it they're hungry or not

yes, if i have change in my pocket,
but sometimes i'm kinda scared of them too if i'm alone especially

There's like no homeless people, unless you go right into the town centre, and I never carry money around with me soo

I don't. While I feel sympathy for people who are homeless because I don't know how they ended up that way, I'm not sure my money would really help or even be put to good use. I do support public programs to help out homeless people though. Studies show that it is less expensive to just give homeless people taxpayer funded housing than to have them out on the streets committing crimes, being put in jail, etc. That's a lot more efficient than giving people a buck or two here and there.

Never. Too many bad experiences where their signs say one thing yet they demand another, as if they're in a place to be doing that. There's a bunch of people in my area that use the appearance of being homeless as their own personal business as well which is disgusting so I just don't bother anymore.

Normally I will buy them food or something to drink instead of just giving them money. I have met lots of homeless people and there are so many that so genuinely nice and cool.

Infrequently I'll give someone change, but usually I pack a healthy lunch to give to them or buy a hot sandwich if I have no food with me. I read somewhere that socks and toothpaste/toothbrush are great to give, so i'm going to start doing that instead.

I do most of the time.
My family and I even were friends with a homeless man who was really nice and polite. Don't know where he is now though, I hope nothing bad happened to him and he just doesn't come to our city anymore.
Me and some classmates also gave food to homeless people a few weeks ago. We were on a class trip in another country and bought the food with all the money we had left in that country's currency. The guys we gave it to were really happy about it :)
There is a criminal organisation in my city though that forces people to go begging and takes all the money from them afterwards. I recognise the people that belong to that group though because they all beg in exactly the same kneeling position. I don't give money to them obviously.
I think we should help other people instead of judging them and their choices in life. And I think it's stupid to deny them help just because they could buy drugs or alcohol with the money. At least give them a chance.

No, not usually. Whenever I encounter one, half of me feels bad for them and wants to give them something, even if it's just some spare change, but then the other half of me makes me wonder if they really are in need or if they're just asking for handouts. I mean, you don't know if they actually are homeless and in need, or if they just bum money because they're lazy.
