Museum, church, hotel, wherever. Some places put a guest log book at the entrance/ exit so you can say you've been here.

Do you follow this practice?

Occasionally I do, but when I do I tend to put something stupid like Jesus in a church or Sir Keir Stamer etc

I do, out of habit. The only museum that has one (near me) is small and local, so I want to show my support.

I cant ever say I have seen one of these guest books in real life, in a public place. I guess the closest thing was signing a guest book for my brothers wedding 20 years ago?

I have seen this in TV shows, movies, and even read about them in fictional novels. I dont travel, so that's probably why.

What is the point of them? They make me curious...

The only time I’ve ever seen or signed a guest book was at an Airbnb I stayed at.

i don’t think i have ever seen a guest book before. the closest thing i have signed to a guest book was at my confirmation several years ago. everyone who got confirmed signed their name in a book.

I’ve only seen guests books at huge life events such as funerals, weddings and birthdays which I always sign as I find it rude not too.

If I had one out I would like my guests to sign it.

The only ones I ever signed were the ones that used to be on fansites here on the internet.

This is what I was going to say. One of my older cousins had a guest book during her wedding. I signed that but it's been years. I can't even remember if it was before covid or during. Time really got messed up for me during that time lol. But that's the last and only time I can recall signing something like that. I've seen them around places, but I don't bother signing, but for them it seemed appropriate to give my congratulations and sign it.
