I personally believe that there are two genders, and no matter what changes you undergo or what you claim you are the gender you were born with. maybe I'm just old-fashioned but I think it's a better world that way.

There are 2 biological genders, but there are more psychological genders

there are a sht ton of genders
i dont get what you mean by changing your gender so i selected other (like did you mean like genderfluid or transgender or......???)

what is the difference though? why do we use the same terminology for different things?

A biological gender has to do with things like private parts and testosterone levels ew
A psychological gender would more pertain to what you identify as, with less biological influence.

I chose other because honestly I don't know. I know you can't change your chromosomes but literally there are people that don't seem like they're the gender they are, and many don't feel that way, so that's why they do whatever they can to be the opposite sex.

ummm that's not "old fashioned" it's transphobic....

there's so many problems with this I hope it gets locked why do people think this is ok??? ugh

There are no "beliefs", it's literally been proven by scientists that there are more genders than just male and female, as well as the fact that gender is in your mind and not your biological make-up or your pants. Sorry buddy.

Those are sexes, not the same thing as gender.

Can we please close this thread

To me this question is very complicated. My issue is that I wonder if people would need different genders if our gender standards weren't so harsh. Tbh, I don't really understand non-binary (by all means I think they should have the freedom to be though! they're not hurting anyone!) or agender or stuff like that. Sometimes I feel like this stuff just re-affirms gender standards in the end? Cause I hear a lot about appearances like about children wearing dresses and stuff as a sign or part of being trans and I just don't get it because clothes don't have anything to do with being a woman. And then there's someone like Caitlyn Jenner (who obviously isn't representative but is very vocal none the less) saying stuff like "i have a female brain" and "the hardest part of being a woman is deciding what to wear"??? Maybe I just don't understand the concept of gender as a whole? Like I understand the biological sexes but gender? Idk is gender a state of mind? Are you female because you feel caring, feminine, or something like that? Cause none of that is inherently female to me. And if you're neither is it because you feel you have neither traits associated with female or male people?

Just because (s)he doesn't agree with the idea that there can be more than two genders doesn't make them transphobic. I may not agree with Judaism but that doesn't make me an antisemite.

Well, there's obviously 2 genders physically, but I believe there to be 3: male, female, and genderfluid

Yeah, but denying that Judaism exists would be silly and so is denying that there are alternative gender identities.

It does tho lmao? they're literally saying that trans and nb people don't exist??? that's transphobic af. Trans lives aren't a discussion.

Wait is psychical the right word

Gah idk

No but I can tell you were trying to say basically what ok.sean said.
Also there's more than just genderfluid; there's also agender, bigender, and nonbinary (which is an umbrella term for the previous three, but some like to use it as its own identity).
