It's wonderful news really.:)
Everyone deserves the same rights, no matter what your preference is.
It's unfortunate that it took this long. But, atleast it finally happened.:D

^ My thoughts exactly!

This.

In all reality, it's amazing that this law ever existed, as well as slavery, and even post-slavery laws that didn't directly prohibit African-Americans from having equal rights, but indirect laws such as the Poll Tax and Grandfather Clause.

Same thing with women's rights. "OKAY ALL BLACKS CAN HAVE RIGHTS NOW BUT WOMEN CAN'T LOLOLOLOLO"

@Slickyrider I agree but, sadly that's just how the human race is.
We always think anything different from what we consider 'normal' or common rather, is inferior.

It's the money, honey. It's no shock.

The depressing thing about the war in Afghanistan is that we're fighting a handful of extremists, yet we've focused all of our troops on that one country. Sure, there are a few Muslims that think "anyone who defies Allah should pay", but that's an incredibly small fraction of them.

Same thing with the war in Iraq. Bush sent American troops to win back the Iraqis' freedom from the corrupt government, but how many years did it take after "Mission Accomplished" to pull all of the American soldiers stationed there out of the country? There are still some left!

If only the entire world could follow the example that Switzerland set for us.

Ireland - Neutral and proud.

But I seriously think this is great news, that law is primitive and cruel.

Why would you even bring that up?

You could say the same thing for the Klu Klux Klan.
There's some messed up people out there, but I don't think we should ever associate them with religion. Regardless if they do themselves.

Woohoo.

One step closer in making the world a better place.
But of course, there's always those ignorant guys who think religion should rule over all.
I, for one, is religious (kind of), but just because a religion says that homosexuality is bad doesn't mean you can ban it.
Besides, even if it was bad, how would banning it help the government, anyway?

And sadly, no one follows Switzerland's example.
Instead of America being a major and very well known country, Switzerland should be a major and very well known country. Then all or most of the other countries will step in Switzerland's footsteps. And to make it so all countries do that, there should be an equal amount of people following every major or close to major religions in the world, and so even Iraq could follow. About the religion thing I said, that would be pretty hard (almost impossible, actually) but that would be nice if it was that way. Everyone would get along.

Honestly, if the government hadn't made such a big deal out of a soldier's complaint, this would never have happened. I guess they overreacted. (stole Jake's line)

I brought that up to emphasize this point:

Senseless genocide occurs every day because humans are fighting over what they THINK happened thousands of years ago.

That goes for every religion, not just one.
Just reminding.

You know what, such a meaningful thread would be ruined if a senseless fool overreacted and caused a flame war.

It's still in effect though. You know, so we can "transition" from it.

I love bull*censored.2.0*.
I think it hasn't been signed by the president yet. Will there be additional waiting after it's signed?
