I remember this one Super Bowl commercial from 2012 that was advertising the Chevy Silverado. There were these guys standing around a post-apocalyptic city (remember that craze?) eating the last remaining Twinkies while driving around in their truck. It’s funny in context considering this was exactly around the time the original Hostess went bankrupt. They weren't really discontinued. The company that made them was just going bankrupt. So another company bought the rights to start making/distributing them again. Most people don't really eat them even before they were put on hold briefly. I never tried them until afterwards, but most people who have tried the ones from before they made the switch said the flavor or something changed. Probably the company that bought them changed the recipe to cut corners.
I haven’t noticed any taste differences from what they were originally compared to now.
