So anyone have any additional business types you would like to see in a future AC title?

Myself, I wouldn't mind seeing a restaurant similar to the Roost. Choose where you want it as either a PWP or on main street, but have some say on what kind of restaurant it is (Japanese sushi and ramen bar, French or Italian restaurant, American burger diner etc.).

How about you guys?

Oh I would love a restaraunt!
I'd kind of like some sort of food shop, I know we have fruit trees but I think it would be kind of cool to go food shopping or something :-)
I would also hope for a bigger Nooks homes shop. Or maybe if we pay off a certain number of loans it upgrades like with Nooks.

Bookstore! I want a bookstore. With little reading nooks and stuffed couches and books everywhere.

Oh a bookstore is also a great idea!
I would like a music store too, rather than having to wait for KK or buying a single song at a time.
Maybe a special Nintendo shop too, rather than the fortune cookies. I have repeated so many of those now and still have some items missing.
Oh there is loads I want....

I'd like it if there was somewhere you could go to play games with your villagers. Maybe a board game cafe or a sports area. Jock villagers would love it and you could bring the balls back from the gamecube version.

I think with the vast amount of items available in this game (and there are sure to be more in the next game) the current shops should be split up to give us more items available each day. There should be a shop exclusively selling furniture since it takes forever to find specific furniture even when Nook's gets upgraded fully. Leif should have his own "outdoors" shop which has more saplings and bush starts available each day and also sells all of the tools. Also maybe his shop should have furniture you can put outside instead of having to build PWPs all of the time. There should be a department store with stationery, music, and maybe have clothes there too and do something else with the Able Sisters.

What I don't want is for Animal Crossing to become too much of a simulated life game. Things like restaurants, gyms, bookstores, stadiums, etc. may make the game seem more interesting, but a lot of Animal Crossing is just showing off your creativity with your town and your house and I don't see the point of adding stuff if it doesn't relate to that. Club LOL is an example of this. All it's good for is getting music from K.K. once a week and getting emotions from Shrunk which is really annoying. Other than that, it's pretty boring. So while I'd like to see more shops, I don't want to see more "hangout" places.

I'd be cool similar to Gracie and Katrina, where Sahara has her own shop and sells wallpapers and flooring including her own (on rare occasions) rather than the Nooklings selling them.

I dont think it would be a good main game idea, but I would like it as a spinoff. Like a restaurant sim but with AC

I've been wanting a Caf? that I can run and design. In Disney Magical World they allowed you to design the Caf?, dress the staff in clothing and pick the menu for the day. They had theme food for the holidays. Online players were able to drop by different Cafes in the world.
It would be nice if the next AC game allowed players in the Caf? when using the Dream Suite.

Omg! All these ideas are so amazingly genius. I would love a Book Store. Oh and a restaurant would be pretty sweet.

I hear you. I really feel like creativity is a big part if not the biggest part of new leaf. I too find Club LOL very boring. However, I don't think those places have to be just hang out places. I'd like places to play mini games that don't just feel like a repetition of what I already do to make money (catching bugs and fish). I also want new ways to interact with villagers. Maybe instead of just hanging out at each other's houses you could plan to meet on main street go to a place and do a different activity. I just find that after you pay off your house and your just trying to unlock new PWPs the game can get really boring. I need more variety!

I hope I don't sound critical. Honestly, your comment really got me thinking about what other people value in the game and the game's core. Maybe what a really cool thing to do would be to have more businesses and main street options than can be built. Then players would be forced to pick and choose the ones they like best or suit their play style. To visit the others you would have to visit another person's town. It would allow players to give their towns more character because they would decide what kinds of businesses would run. Plus, everyone would have businesses that make them happy :)

Happy Home Designer has plenty of new shops for villagers to hang out and your character is able to interact with. I don't think it's very interesting though as you just talk to them. The fun of it is really just being able to take pictures of a place you designed and moving villagers around to your liking. If the shops had some sort of mini-games like the ones during holiday events then that might be fun!

I don't know if I like being forced to choose an option like with the police station. For my second town, I really was wanting to build the police station I didn't choose in my main town, but probably am not going to because I like Booker too much.

Ooooo I don't know if it has been suggested yet but I would also love a cinema!!
I think that would be so cool, even if the movie is only a couple of minutes, like a cartoon types of thing.
You pay to get in and you can watch them with villagers. In fact, it could be a villagers request, come to the movies with me? And you set a time like with when they come over to your house!
Oh I would love that :-)

OH GOD YES PLEASE YES

I made a couple of bookstores in HHD I was so desperate. It's my favourite thing. I even based one of the designs off the second-hand bookstore that I work at in real life, I'm really happy with how it turned out too :3

Bookstores are the best :3

All these ideas are excellent but what would a book store do? I don't think you guys would wanna read in a game? It won't have any functionality except for display.

I think a bookstore should work as some kind of collectable. Maybe you could read a gardening book or something to improve your chances of growing hybrids too :-)

Oh and I agree about not making it too much like a life simulation. Don't really need it to become like the sims or anything.
I just think added a few extra activities would be fun. Especially if they help contribute to earning other things in town.
I'd like a bit more control over who moves out in my town and what public works become available too.

I think the idea of a specific store just to buy furniture is a great idea too.
Just anything that adds to what we already have without taking away the main elements of the game.
Maybe a villagers requests you to buy a certain book, or as I said previously they may request to see a movie with you.
I love the game as it is now, but it's fun to think of the possibilities! :)

i would love a cinema like link suggested. would be cool to if there's a shooting studio. basically its like the trainer PR video in pokemon xy where you can shoot a video of your trainer and have it broadcast on the bigscreen. after you shot a video with a villager or yourself, you can have it played in the cinema and watch it together with your villagers hehe.

Different types of eateries would be awesome!

Fancy restaurant, family restaurant, drive-ins (you would wear roller skates and have a skirt with Harriet on it AHHH), sushi restaurant, Italian. Possibilities are endless. Maybe have the option to change between them and have a small fee to pay plus a one day waiting period for the change to take place like with the town ordeince.

Also a park, buy different kind of benches, fountains, drinking fountains, maybe playground things that villagers can use (Moe and Marshal on a seesaw, yes please <3)

I think a library (basically the same as a bookstore but you don't have to pay or worry about storing books) would be useful for having books with game information and tips so that villagers and NPCs wouldn't have to bore you all of the time with tutorials.

I think having a cinema to share actual game-play videos would be a good idea kind of like the dream suite. If the next game is going to have more buildings, then most of them should have some online interaction involved to make them more interesting and not get stale.

What would you guys think about a store that sells phones? You could use cell phones to call your villagers or order items from your catalog from anywhere. Do you think this would be a good idea to make things more convenient or do you think it would completely go against Animal Crossing tradition of being old-fashioned and not reliant on modern technology?
