Anyone else made a second character?

Nah. Two characters are on my island, but 1 belongs to my husband. I don't really want another character. I'd rather have more space on my island for decorating and for possible building additions if any future updates give us any.

I plan to make a second character in the future and turn the house into either a hotel, restaurant, spa, or all of the above. I haven't made the character yet because the location I'm planning on putting the house is where I am storing my hybrid flowers. But one day when my island is more developed and my hybrid flowers have more permanent homes I will create a second character!

I've made a few extra characters. They all live in the town hall.
I initially had 1 which was helpful in the beginning for cleaning up Trees and flowers, but each alt gets a DIY bottle, money tree, and money rock.

I've been thinking about making all eight since I've already some names in mind. I haven't really figured out what I want to do decor-wise.

I plan to make 2 more since I want to add certain buildings into my island namely a Ryokan and a Hotel. Having 2 houses to fully decorate would be really good.

I'm thinking about making a second character because I somehow managed to fill my 1,600 item storage.
So I'll either do that or do some extreme cleaning. I think I'd rather save stuff though so I don't have to reorder.

I had one on my second island, but I restarted yesterday. I haven't decided if I'll add another character or not, but for right now, I'm trying to keep it as simple as possible. I was starting to feel like I was taking the game too fast before.

Construction on my main island is on hold until I see if new shops will be added, but right now, I feel like it wouldn't make thematic sense for me to add a new house. The only think I could imagine doing would be creating a new tent to go in the campground area, but if I do that, I'll have to move my museum and I don't know if I'm ready to do that.

Also, I sort of feel awkward making a new character for some reason. I don't even know how to describe it.

I have three now. I really wanted to keep one in a tent but there is no storage at all in the tent so I made a third. I keep tent guy around for extra art, bottles etc. I may make a 4th at some point if I can find a spot I like for the house. My second character I only upgraded the main room and added the back room. I want to keep that house small and cottage like, but you can't change the exterior which stinks. I want houses in all different phases of builds so they don't all look the same.

I'm modelling him after my oc, although i cant find any good hair for him lol

I use him to get a second diy off villagers if its something good and im gonna decorate his house eventually haha

Made a second character using my Japanese nintendo account for language practice, but these days I'm too lazy to "study" AC so I just play on my English account and am turning the second player's house into an inn

Regarding OP, I had three players on my island, but now I have two (a diner & a concert hall in the making)

Ohhh never realised this could work!! I'm French but switched my game to English early on because it was easier for the villagers names, + I wanted to see the puns in English, put sometimes I do wonder if I miss out! Never thought I could have both!!!

I've been wanting to add a character for storage & daily DIYs for a while... And now that people pointed out the possibilities, I really want a little farmer character with a nice rustic house near my orchard, and then a cute beach cottage on the beach, and a forest retreat.... Urgh... This is going to take some self control haha!

I'd never really thought about it but I kind of want to make a second character now just not sure where I would put them.

Can you enter the other characters house with your own character if you do a cafe or something or just that character?

I have one character but my partner created a character and never plays anymore.
Sometimes I'll log on with his character to get duplicates of crafted DIYs, an extra bottle on the beach or an extra KK song.

Getting 2x mom items and extra birthday cakes are nice too~

I'll probably upgrade his house eventually so I have more rooms to decorate.

you actually don't need a second character to play in a different language - you just need close the game, change your switch's language to the one you want, then start the game again. But I made a second character cause I wanted her name to be in Japanese too

and one of my favorite parts of playing in a different language is seeing what the villagers names are! Fauna's Japanese name, Doremi, is the inspiration for my username here

I do too! I make alts in every game I play. In FFXIV I have eight characters and I always felt like I needed to find some proper justification for it whenever I wanted a new one. I don't know, like a weird mix of guilt or self-consciousness but not really either of those things? It's certainly not a rational thing.

God I hope this makes some sense to you and that I didn't just proudly reveal myself to be a maladjusted obsessive altaholic to someone who just doesn't want too many alts for a totally normal reason lol.
