Anyone else like having a mixture of popular and unpopular villagers?

When I’m done with my Island, I guess I will have Muffy (or Cherry if I find her), Bluebear, Mitzi, Filbert and Merengue and the rest is pretty much unpopular, but I still love them, because I had good experience with them and that’s all what matters to me. The rest will probably consist Jacques, Rod, Gonzo (if his Card will ever arrive), Sydney or Willow and maybe Ken. Last place depends if I want another Smug, another Cranky or I’m gonna search for another Lazy like Cranston, Wade, Bones, etc. I guess I will just surprise myself.

I don't really let the popularity influence my choices either way, I just have villagers I personally like. I like Marshal, he's really popular, great. I like Blanche, she's not popular, great. Doesn't really matter where they fall on a list as long as I like them.

Yup! I let Audie go to do some hunting. I eventually decided to let someone random move in and it was Dom. He is popular but he’s just ok. I prefer the villagers in my town like Kitty, Aurora, Mitzi, and Bones but also do like Sherb and Judy too. Raymond can go though.

I don't care about popularity. I invite the villagers I like and whether I end up with 2 or 8 popular ones doesn't matter.

I pick what I want, I don’t let anybody influence my own opinion. I have super popular villagers (Rosie, dom, marshal, sherb, Judy and punchy) but I have savannah, dobie, Renee, and Margie. I plan to replace Sherb, Renee, and Margie though for Nana, Olivia, and Shari.

I have a mix of popular and mid-range villagers. I actually have more 'popular' villagers than I expected to, but I plan to eventually replace Raymond with Bunnie if I can.

The only popular villagers i plan on having are Marshal and Raymond. It was the same in my NL town, i only have like 3 popular ones, but i would not care if all of them were popular. It is more important that you like the villager, of course.

I'm not sure any of my villagers are popular, but I've gotten super attached to them. For me it's more about getting to know whoever the game throws at me than, like, picking out particular folks. Except, of course, for Rizzo. He's my all-time favorite, so I had to bring him in with an amiibo.

I think the whole villager popularity thing is bogus. Just pick who you like!

I never go by popularity when picking villagers, but I have ended up with a mixture. I have some popular (Raymond, Marina), some mid-tier (Chevre, Sprocket), and some unpopular (Canberra, Blaire). I just go by who I like and it just so happens there are some very popular and some very unpopular ones lol. I think it's better to go by how much you like the villagers rather than how much other people like them

It's not that I like having a mix of popular and unpopular villagers, it's just that some villagers I like are popular and some less so. So my lineup will definitely have a mix of both for the most part~

I don't view the villagers in my town through the comparison of popular versus unpopular. I feel that, since this is my island, I keep the villagers on my island until I'm tired of them or desire for some fresh blood (that sounds...sinister xD). For example, I had Marshall for a long time, but I got rid of him when I got tired of him. Then I got him back when I wanted to see his white bushiness walking around my island (and because I forgot to get his poster in my catalogue). I got rid of Olive, Bunny and Maple while I tried the campsite method to snatch Raymond. I wanted him, not because he's popular, but because I thought/think he's adorable. But because I had to rid myself of Olive, Bunny and Maple before I was done, I'm probably going to snatch them when I find them. Audie has been on my island for several weeks, and I'm going to get rid of her soon because I need fresh blood!

Yes, everyone's preferences and tastes are different, but I think you are probably more likely to find villagers you like if you go by your own intuition rather than popular opinion.

I don’t care how popular my villagers are I pick them based on their design. If I like them I’m getting them regardless of popularity.

I have a mix of popular and unpopular favorites so it just naturally lends to variety in my lineup.

On my island, I have:
Tank
Chrissy
Savannah
Henry
Mira
Maelle
Louie
Rex
Ike
Derwin

The only popular ones are Mira and Chrissy. The rest are unpopular.
I also invited Louie, Rex, Ike and Derwin via Amiibo card.

I actually don't take popularity into account when inviting villagers. Whether popular or not, if I want to have them, I'll invite them.

I wouldn’t necessarily care if they’re popular or not, if i like them, I like them. If they so happen to be popular then woot woot and if not that’s just as cool
