I do a lot of online play and have never had any connection issues aside from the times where maybe I have too many people in my island at once. This week I've been heavily involved in trading and it all has gone smoothly.
But today I've started having issues out of nowhere. It started with someone who came to my island for a free DIY I was giving them. They were able to come but then would get get kicked off right away. This happened a bunch of times until eventually we just called it quits.
I assumed it was an issue with their end.
Then I was on the forums here and I saw that someone had been scammed out of Raymond. I have a second switch with a second island that I don't play at all and have Raymond in there. So I thought I'd give this person Raymond for free. Started the 7 day Nintendo Online trial and invited them over to my town.
However the connection issues started up again with this person and I realized maybe it was an issue on my end? I've restarted my modem a couple of times. Restarted my Switch. Switched over to different internet connection to see if it helps.
I even opened my island and had my player from the other switch visit via online play. This went smoothly so it's not a problem with Nintendo Servers.
But as soon as I invite the other person it doesn't work.
