I was at someone's dream town and they had little presents on the ground. Not the wrapping paper kind, the cute little boxes with the red ribbons!

I wasn't aware you could drop gift boxes on the ground. Can someone enlighten me on how to do this, or was this person using a glitch?

I don't think there's a way to get presents like that normally.

Perhaps they dropped something on the ground that was meant for them to deliver to another villager, or an option that makes more sense was they shot down the balloon presents in the sky.

What was in them?

Were they arranged in such a way that they looked deliberate, or were they randomly scattered? If it was random, is it possible that they're from shooting down balloon furniture? Or did you open them and find stuff other than balloon furniture inside?

Also, what colour were the ribbons? If they were green ribbons, is it possible they were gifts for villagers that she didn't deliver and just dropped after the delivery time limit had expired (is that possible?)?

They were arranged very deliberately and the ribbons were red!

It could have been a qr code. Did you try to pick it up and see what's inside? I know some people can deliberately shoot down a balloon in a specific spot in town, it's not that hard to do but can be time consuming to place it exactly in a certain area. Just wait until it gets to where you want it and shoot it down and tada, present on the ground.

Can't you just put presents, like balloon presents or ones you got from the mail, directly on the ground?

It could also be hacked using that RAM editor or whatever!

It's from the balloons and otherwise hacked probably. I also have a few presents but they're randomly scattered.

If it was balloon items in them, they could just set them down, also you can send yourself presents from other characters in your town.
Just think for a second. When you get something in the mail, you have to grab the present out of it and then open it. You could just have an alt. character send your main character something in the mail and then take it out of the letter and not open it. It requires 2 characters though. Although you could also have someone visit from another town and do the same thing.

You can't drop the present that you got in the mail.
I visited a dream town where the present were in a heart shape I think. It would take awhile to get them to drop in the same area.
