Pieces of continuity in Animal Crossing

Today, I was playing my Animal Crossing Gamecube town and I read a letter from the player's mom. It was essentially about hoping that this Christmas would be better than the last, saying something along the lines of, "And we never did find Cindy's hamster." After I was done playing, I started playing my Wild World town and there was a letter from the player's mom, talking about how she finally found the hamster and gave it a proper burial. Does anybody else have examples of little pieces of continuity in Animal Crossing?

The one I can think of and probably the one people know the most are the little interactions and stories between the games main NPCs, the Able sisters and Tom Nook come to mind
