2nd profile? What are the benefits?

Okay so I’ve seen a lot of people talking about a second and even a third profile.

questions I have:
What are the benefits of this?
Does the second(&THIRD) house not just take up unnecessary space on your island?
Do you play both profiles often?

Definitely takes up space on your island with the extra houses! I don’t have extra profiles but my friend does and she uses it for extra storage space as well as an additional person to buy redd art, get celeste diys, etc.

I think the only benefit would be to get an extra bottle, extra summer shells, just extra anything. The second player and onward don't have the options to move houses and buildings. I don't think they can even create inclines/bridges, or remove them. The only house they can move is their own. I know this because my brother and I share an island, so I end up having to change things because he doesn't have that option. I think if you have your own island, there really isn't any other reason for a second profile or house. I feel like you'd have to do a lot more with upgrading the second house and all.

I have two other profiles and it helps me a lot by giving me the ability to collect more diys or items whether it be from the beach or the villagers. An example of this is me racking up on those heart crystals easily. If I continue to do the quests then by the end of the even I'am able to collect 4000 heart crystals. When it comes to space, it's actually the opposite considering I don't need to dedicate a large area towards a restaurant, instead I can move everything inside. I only play on the other ones when I need to collect stuff. So in my downtime not really. However, I think the biggest benefit of more profiles is the extra storage space.

I’m debating just because of getting extra items from redd/Gulliver but I really don’t know where I would even put a second house and I feel that it may just look odd.. guess I’ll think on it!

Yeah that part can be annoying, especially with the loading time, but in the end the pros outweigh the cons.

Also I'm able to buy the extra redd paintings and get more gulliver items. Because of this if i get extra or things I don't need I can just turn those things into profit on tbt.
Also, a suggestion might be to put the 2nd house on the beach and make into a hotel/resort.

I just threw my second profile on the beach. It's the only areas I haven't decorated or used other than digging clams. Having extra profiles are very useful for taking advantage of those visitors that only show up once in a blue moon. Can request 2+ model from CJ/Flick in one visit, get 2+ items from Gulliver, get 2+ DIYs from Celeste, buy 2+ paintings from Redd, etc.

pro:

extra storage space. extra room to design. more place to hide your diy.

con:

you have to pay nook's loan again , first loan is with miles (if you have all golden tools it's an instant)


edit: i dont log onto the second profile or third unless i need to grab stuff that other ppl request.

Reading through these responses, I'm tempted to create two more profiles just for the NPCs. Plus, I can keep them in tents and leave them on the beach. That'd look pretty natural.

The extra storage space is nice. Also being able to do Gulliver or Celeste multiple times, as well as DIY bottles.

Aside from storage, the best usage of them are turning them into little shops. I've seen people use their other profiles in incredible ways doing that.

I suggest you do it; it has been very beneficial. I've seen someone use the tent as part of their excavation site.

Just remember that a player in a tent will not have storage unfortunately

I just keep my guy in a tent by the campground. Looks more like a real campground now. I needed a second as I messed myself up with Celeste s zodiac DYIs by unknowingly traveling to her in a TT town. Now I can get the ones I cant get with my main character.

I actually have three profiles on my island and its actually really nice! Other than the extra stuff u can get(diy bottles, celeste diys, redd art, gulliver, flick and cj models etc) you can turn their houses into actual landmarks! One of the profiles belongs to my girlfriend so it doesnt rly count but the third profile i turned into a japanese izakaya!(as well as bonus storage) so there are a ton of benefits!

if you don't like it and dont mind spending the bells... you can always delete the additional acct.

be sure it's empty because everything in it will be deleted. log onto the second player and click '-' during the intro screen to access the setting then remove the user
