Thats a good question. I'd imagine its only work for visitors, as the point is get others to help out but it cant hurt to check(You'll need at least 5 visitors to water it)

I made 3 extra characters(4total that I play) and the biggest “benefit” for me is the extra art from redd and extra DIY’s
But overall I made them because I WANTED the extra houses to fill out some parts of town, and each one is it’s own theme! Extra accounts can be soooo handy to add restaurants, hotels, tents, etc!
I have my main that I play the most on, a secondary character on my secret beach with a lil beach cottage
A third in the woods, she’s a botanist and has a cute as heck house that gave me an excuse to use a lot of items I couldn’t in my own House~ and a fourth that’s a beach resort wedding venue in the more touristy part of town!
people always do it for the extra storage but honestly it’s just fun to have more to do/decorate~
