They can choose a turtle to be president and I would not care as I live 6000km away from it.

I would actually be pretty interested in this.

I hope a turtle will join parliament. The turtle has my vote already.

This trudeau mania needs to stop.

I'm happy the cabinet has 15 women though

Your observation? This is a whole fangirl logbook.
Also, the world doesn't revolve around North-American countries their politics. Yes it's in the news, just like the politics of Syria are now on the news. They can choose a turtle to be president and I would not care as I live 6000km away from it. But no problem, I get it, you want to discover if other girls have the same idol as you by putting up this politics discussion thread which isn't even named to its purpose. If your purpose of this thread would seriously be discussing politics then you could at least be less subjective about this whole thing.

-unrelative mode off-

You ask MY observation? Either you cannot read, didn't care to read, or have issues with retention....
Because I made my intentions very clear:
This is NOT a political discussion thread. So no, I was not trying to be subjective about it. I stated clearly I wanted to appeal to something everyone on the TBT community could relate to, threads usually have topics of "Who is hot/Who is not" and considering a majority of TBT users are 1. Not Canadian and 2. Under the age of majority to vote, and (likely) don't care about politics..... I stated clearly I wanted to simply celebrate the great voter turn out this election, that Canadians, particularly youth, came out and voted. Didn't matter what party. We united under one cause: "Anyone but Harper" (basically) and this was the result.
You falsely accused me of idolizing him. No.... I do not idolize Trudeau, actually, or the Liberals. Do I have to repeat myself? I voted NDP, dammit! What, you think I am suddenly having a change of heart and I am not a Liberal supporter? Because we have a "sexy PM"? Please.... likewise.... I do not vote or base my politics around fame or appearance... Again.... I noted NDP objected Bill C-51.... and it was a deal-breaker for a lot of voters.... I will not say much more... So yes, I sympathize with much of the fear people have, but likewise am hopeful with the progressive change. Technically only being sworn in yesterday, its true he accomplished more in less than a month than Harper did in his previous 4-year term.
And.... your fangirl comment is flat-out narrow-minded offensive I am just going to come right out and say it. I explicitly said this was a thread all genders could appreciate, hoping each of you would have the maturity to acknowledge attractive traits in other people no matter what sexual orientation you are. That is to say, not everyone will find Trudeau attractive. But say, some grown a** heterosexual men will. Likewise should anyone have made a similar thread celebrating a female (could be anything, but let's say politician) I, being a heterosexual female would also participate and vote appropriately in the polls should she not be objectified, and admit her attractive features. This has nothing to do with me cancelling out the males of TBT. Gay men or bisexual men can join in of course, but certainly grown a** heterosexual men also are welcome to to state their HONEST opinions (naturally). I made this an open, welcoming thread for "everyone to enjoy" (I clearly stated), whereas you narrowed it and basically made it a gender/sexuality issue, implying it basically only applies to girls.... straight girls, that is.
You would be correct in saying North American politics, perhaps, yes, but US politics is followed quite closely, worldwide. For the first time, Canada actually got some worldwide publicity - not from Trudeau - but the world following the debates, the election, etc..... that doesn't happen. As I said, No one cares about Canadian politics - not even Canadians - at least not till the 2015 election, with a 68% voter turn out. And yet I asked 2 things: We celebrate that (which was in boldface), or if you didn't care, you state your opinions on Trudeau's "hotness" according to the media (not Canadian media, mind you, this "sexiest politician in the world" thing actually came from the UK). And yet not a single one of you has said anything to the likeness of "Way to go Canada, congrats on a spectacular voter turn out!". All of you thus far opted to, as I predicted, share your opinions on his appearance.
But I did, quite a few times, say I wanted to step back from political arguments and debates, to refrain from stepping on peoples toes, and keep the conversation lighthearted, fun and friendly. I find great amusement in the major extremes in opinions on Trudeau, some comments are quite laughable, really, the poll itself - if you haven't already guessed, leaves room for jest, etc.... Many of the responses are references to certain things, and its generally for comedic value than serious data collection.

Good job by repyling to me with about 5 times the amount of text I used. Anyway, I believe that you're a bit overthinking my comment. Have fun with the bells you earned with that post :)

I disagree.

Then again, I find it difficult to judge based on appearances. I'd probably like a few candid photos/videos of their interactions with the community around them before something in my mind clicks that they have an attractive personality to be attractive.

I think people look like maths or string of numbers.
I know the numbers people seem to like, but don't particularly like any number myself.

I'm not that fond of satire either. I think that people with a proper education or intend to present themselves to the public in a certain manner should not resort to immature means. Regardless of the medium, to earn respect, you must be respectful.

Just my opinion based on the content provided.

Which is exactly why I somewhat coyly incorporated his hobbies (Boxing), fandoms (Harry Potter, Star Wars), and a general scope of what he politically supports (Feminism, LGBTQ Rights, Bill C-51) and other funny/charismatic things that might otherwise be considered impressive like him taking selfies in the Montreal Subway or the video of him dancing Bhangra. Because I know there is more to levels of attractiveness than just appearance.

Point taken, though, "to earn respect, you must be respectful". Personally, I don't feel he has done anything really extreme to show disrespect. However he garnered his campaign highly to cater to the youth of the nation. And his rebelliousness, I guess you could say, earned him votes, but thats just who he is.

Hey.... at least it will reimburse me a little for the cost of pasting as many images as I did in the initial post....

Personally I think he's meh. I understand why the media would hype him up because I guess he is better looking than any of our "recent" past Prime Ministers. But as a Canadian I didn't vote for him based on his looks, so this craze over him is kind of shallow and it doesn't sit well with me...

You might want to clarify what the French choices on your poll are btw...LOL

No.... arguably, we have had better looking PMs decades and decades ago. But since the internet era, and the spread of social media, sure, publicity has had a lot of fun with his guy.

I didn't vote for him, or the Liberal party whatsoever... Though I fall in the "double take" category of the poll.
As you know, though some TBTers may not, we vote based on the MP of our riding, we vote the Party, not the person. As I said, NDP has the majority in my city (riding). But the Liberals won the election. To my understanding, in the US, you vote for your persona.... Bernie Sanders, Hilary Clinton, Donald Trump, etc.... you vote for THEM specifically. Not the party they represent (Republican....Democrat.... etc......) Here, you vote for the Liberals, the Conservatives, the NDP, the Bloc Qu?b?cois, the Green Party, and if you have an MP in your area to represent, there are a few other really minor parties also that I have seen that have never taken off.

I think I have to clarify not just the French responses but a few of those responses, actually!
Because many of them are references to a lot of things.

The two French responses are, from what I understand, very, VERY commonly known French phrases. I guess I am wrong.
Their placement on the 1-10 scale should be a hint, and a simple google translate would easily assist if you really wanted to know.
#5 is "comme ci comme ca" - direct translation is "like this, like that", which basically means "can't decide" or "so-so", depending on context. It is the neutral answer. The most indifferent answer. Where you have no opinion. "Makes no difference".
#10, I regret having it as "OMG" instead of "OMD" (Oh mon dieu) but anyways.... Have you not heard this song? Often played at New Years for some reason....
Here is "Lady Marmalade" a rendition my Christina Aguilera, P!nk, Mya, L'iL Kim.... a contemporary version.

This is the origional, circa 1975

Anyway, the line, "Voulez-Vous Coucher Avec Moi (ce Soir?) translates to "Would you like to sleep with me tonight" (in the Biblical sense). Voulez is conjugated as the verb for "to want", Vouloir. Coucher means litetrally "to sleep". Avec means "with". Moi is "me". "ce Soir" is "this night" or "tonight". There are other ways that sentence can be asked. Vous is a formal usage of You(singular) otherwise it means You(plural). Speaking casually, you could say, Est-ce que tu veut coucher avec moi....peut-etre? Which is similrly "would you like to", more politely, but less formally, (like how a boyfriend might test the waters with his girlriend) whereas Voulez-vouz is more demanding in tone, but formal, (like how a hooker or a enamoured Trudeau fan might approach the Prime Minister if they were really horny).

"To Old" is in quotation marks for a reason. It is a Game of Thrones reference. But it is also in reference to the fact that Trudeau is 42 years old. And most of you are teenagers. But I acknowledge some of you have the hots for celebrities and actors/actresses Trudeau's age anyway..... so.... whatever. But the quotation marks was explicity a Game of Thrones reference. (Kinda brutal when you think about it).

And "F*** THIS, I AM MOVING TO CANADA" is in reference to a LOT of things. Ever since the US legalized gay marriage. It was "F*** THIS, I AM MOVING TO CANADA!" "Oh rly? You'll be glad to know we did that in 2007. Enjoy our high taxes and free health care too...." Then with Trudeau-Mania.... If you look in the comments of the YouTube video of the Bhangra video I posted.... same thing.... ;"F*** THIS, I AM MOVING TO CANADA!" I could name countless other instances, that involve political attacks or opinions on certain US Candidates...... such as if [so-and-so] is elected "F*** THIS, I AM MOVING TO CANADA!. THAT response can, but doesn't have to have anything to do with his attractiveness phyisicslly. Do you like him because he is a geek? Came out that he smokes pot, and feels that laws that penalize possession are steeper than those of child abuse and posession of child pornography is absolutely ridiculous (I think we all can agree on that, wether we are po smokers or not)..... so he wishes to legalize it and have the substance government regulated. Do you share similar hobbies? (I do.... I am also a boxer.... I think that is pretty cool). Do you like his dancing skills? Do you iike his stance on feminism? Do you like his activism towards Syrian refugees? Do you like his charisma and how in-tune he is with Canadian youth? Do you like his sense of humour? (Like the joke of where once in your life, moving back into the home you grew up in is a good thing - because his father was PM and he grew up on Sussex Drive)

Being male, I can't really comment on who in politics is hot or not since that would make me sexist. :/

bernie sanders is a perfect little cinnamon roll uwu #FeelTheBern uwu uwu uwu

Cinnamon roll comments aside, in all seriousness, I am rooting for Sanders, have been from the start, I do hope he wins the US Federal Election.

Americans, please stop fearing the word, "Socialism"..... please?

*Cough* Sorry, that took a bit of a political turn....

No..... but you can, oh, I dunno, do the one OTHER thing I asked in this thread, which is actually the more important thing, considering it was in boldface....

And Congratulate Canadians for a great voter turn out this year. Which so far no one has. Welp.

His nose bothers me.

Yeah.... likely the result of being punched in the face. I can relate. Every boxer has been punched in the face. At SOME point or another. Its part of the sport.
Maybe some younger pics to his boxing career are less..... bothersome.
I am sure his nose bothers him too. Broken noses lead to susceptibility to sinus infections and such. Not fun.
But I will leave you with the pleasant thought of someone punching him in the face, at the very least.
You can do the same of me if you like.

Yeah, I don't really know much about Canadian-politics except that there has been alot of controversy over the conservative party. I think it's really good that people vote. Voting is something too many people take for granted. :( 68% doesn't sound too much (We had close to 86% here in Sweden last year) but it's a start and I hope it can keep improving.

Also who is hot and who is not - I always thought Sarah Palin was kinda cute. Please kill me.

Yeah I don't really care what he looks like I just wish there wasn't a Liberal majority. The weird thing about Canada is that the Liberal party is actually a little too conservative for a lot of us.

To quote "The Producers", "God Bless Sweden!". In all seriousness though, Sweden is an amazing country. You truly have many things the Western World (ie: North America) could only dream of attaining. Don't even get me started about Sweden..... and how awesome it is.

Canada is this MASSIVE country..... with a incredibly small population. Like.... the population size of the state of California (Canada's population is 33M, California's alone is 38M). The US has a high population density. We do not. We have a ton of resources, and a ton of uninhabited land. As I said, we have not had a higher voter turn out since 1997. You're right, people stopped caring, and took the right to vote VERY much so for granted. According to elections Canada June 1962 79.0% followed by April 1963 was 79.2% - the highest ever. I find election voter turn outs are higher during war time, in 2008 it was at its ABSOLUTE worst (58.8%, if you don't count the referendum that put the votes to 44.6% in 1898). Last election was at 61%. Even just a 7% increase is MASSIVE on a statistical scale for a population like ours.

Still, Sweden, keep being awesome. All we can do is look up to the model you set for other countries....

*laughs* See? There you goooo..... was that so hard? *laughs again*

Trust me, I am behind you 100% on that one. Liberal or Conservative.... No... No... NO! I much preferred the NDP agenda. Back when I came of age to vote, some of my friends volunteered to assist ridings. Some were in Political Science. There was this guy, who shared many classes with me, sometimes would hit on me. I was moving, and he assisted to let use his vehicle (him driving) to move my boxes. He spared no time. Immediately went into it. Questioned my political leanings. He of course was Liberal. And a supporter of the Liberal riding. He lashed out such hatred at me for even considering a "minority party" such as NDP, and that my vote would be wasted. He came across very threatening. I felt like he would do what ever it took - rape me even - if it meant getting a Liberal vote. This was back in I think 2010. Because of him, I feared Liberals. Or any "majority party". Believe it or not, back in high school, there was a time when there was a Marxist-Leninist Party of Canada MP in my riding.... I watched the televised debates. He was a teacher at my high school. Most MPs thought he was a joke, but then he would kick their a** in all the debates. He was my absolute hero. And back then I probably would have voted Marxist-Leninist, if I was of age to vote! Ha!

Yeah, I said our recent past PMs as in Stephen Harper and Paul Martin XD not decades ago. You're right, there was no internet then. My comment about not voting for him based on his looks was to express that I kind of wish that the rest of the world would know about him based on what he's bringing to Canada, rather than his looks ~

(I also voted for the NDP candidate in my riding though, I loved Jack Layton and am sad that I never got a chance to vote for him ;; )
