Tattoos!

Not really into tattoos myself as they look really painful to get plus I wouldn't want anything permanent on my skin :/ I do like little tattoos that I see girls are getting on instagram/social media though. Those seem to be pretty trendy and are pretty cute. But the elaborate art tattoos are a little too much for me. I can appreciate the talent that was behind it but I don't want to imagine what will happen when the people with those tattoos ages lol.

personally, i think tattoos are really cool. i'd like to maybe get one someday, but i'm baby when it comes to needles/pain so we'll see about that. honestly, i think tattoos in the workplace are fine, as long as that person is qualified for the job then who really cares if they have tattoos.

tho that's just my opinion.

Oh man is this a good thread.
-What tattoos do you have and where?
I have a small hand-poked eye/thieves guild logo with the letters ICU underneath it on the side of my left hand, under my thumb and facing me. It's black, but fading and has a greenish color because I used calligraphy ink, lol. I'm currently working on a hand-poked red ring around my left pinky.
-What tattoos do you want and where?
I want to hand poke lots of small tattoos on my left arm, and then get lots more after that. One that I really want is a Chinese/Eastern inspired dragon wrapped around my right lower leg.
-Are you against tattoos? For tattoos?
Im all for tattoos!
-What do you think of tattoos in the work place?
Tattoos not depicting anything graphic in nature should be allowed in every job. If a tattoo is taboo, like a racist symbol or pornographic, I do think that in most jobs, it should be concealed.
-Do you think tattoos will ever be accepted and considered normal?
Tattoos are rapidly becoming more acceptable nowadays, and I think it's great. However, I don't think countries like South Korea will accept tattooing any time soon.
-Would you mind a leader of a country to have tattoos?
Body art doesn't affect leadership, lol. So long as the tattoo isn't taboo, I think it's perfectly fine.
-If you got one did it hurt?
Hand-poking myself does hurt a little bit. It starts out fine, but as you go on poking, the skin gradually inflames and, for me, scabs, which makes the process longer and harder.

I got into hand poking through my best friend. She and I both expressed interest in it, then she hand poked several things on herself, including a banana, smiley face, star, her cat's name, and some others I don't know about. I already knew how to poke, so she let me use her supplies. Eventually, her parents got her a cheap Chinese tattooing machine, and oh boy did things change. I haven't used the machine on myself, and I failed to give her a tattoo of a bee with it. She gave some scratchy ones to herself and my boyfriend, but now she's gotten the hang of it and recently gave one of our friends a really pretty tattoo of a blackberry with the stem.

If you want to get into handpoking, just do it. Ignore pages like @how_not_to_get_tattooed on instagram and such, those people are mean. A lot of older pro tattoo artists started off the same way as most people, giving their friends bad scratchy tattoos. Don't be afraid to do whatever you want to your body, so long as you are able to do it. Tattooing is fun and empowering, and I recommend it for anyone.

-What tattoos do you have and where?

I don't have any tattoos.

-What tattoos do you want and where?

I don't have any set-in-stone plans, but I'd love to get some nature themed tattoos- preferably on my wrists and my torso.

-Are you against tattoos? For tattoos?

I think tattoos are great, as long as they aren't offensive or disrespectful.

-What do you think of tattoos in the work place?

I feel like people should be allowed to work jobs without having to cover their tattoos and it shouldn't effect their employability, again, as long as they don't have offensive tattoos (some people have explicit or racist tattoos, and I don't judge an employer for turning someone down for that, but anything 100% inoffensive should be allowed and embraced).

-Do you think tattoos will ever be accepted and considered normal?

I think so. It just takes time.

-Would you mind a leader of a country to have tattoos?

Not really, I base how I judge a leader of a country on their words and actions, not what they look like.

-If you got one did it hurt?

I haven't gotten one yet.

-What tattoos do you have and where?
I have 4: a realistic lion between my shoulder blades, a realistic portrait of my dog on my left lower arm (inside), a neo-traditional Sloth with the text live slow, die whenever on my left forearm and the text 'you ain't seen nothing yet' on my right arm, inside.

-What tattoos do you want and where?
I want to end up with 2 full sleeves but I don't know what I want to fill it up. Maybe a rose, maybe a portrait of my mom.

-Are you against tattoos? For tattoos?
Not at all.

-What do you think of tattoos in the work place?
It should be permitted. I'm a social worker and it's usually not a problem. I'll only hide them in some occasions (like really old clients or business talks).

-Do you think tattoos will ever be accepted and considered normal?
Yes, I think it already is becoming this.

-Would you mind a leader of a country to have tattoos?
No not at all.

-If you got one did it hurt?
Yes, all of them, at least a bit. The dog I did not feel at all, until it was almost done (3 hours in) and the artist wiped the inked off. The lion only hurt at times around the spine. The sloth was really ok but after 6 hours of straight tattooing my skin was so tired it began to hurt really bad. The text on the right arm was done pretty fast but I think the most painful of them all. Inner arm is no fun.

i mean, that's nice and all but at the same time it's a better idea to practice on other things than people, especially if youre all like 15. scratchy tattoos w horrible lines are terrible to look at and probably not a lot of fun to have and coverups or laser removal is expensive and a pain to do. stick and pokes often fade when people don't know what they're doing but a tattooing machine makes it a lot more terrible and permanent. like, im not saying dont get fun but ****ty tattoos you might not love forever but maybe chill a little w it

i want a tatto of some flower but im not 100% sure yet, my top picks are pansy, lavender and chamomile.... i also love constellation tattoos and would really love to get one myself but idk where? i guess the fact that im fat makes me put it off because i dont want to get it on my torso etc since it would just look ugly to me, but im anxious about getting it in a visible place since people still judge and dislike tattoos.... ill eventually get one though, its been a quiet dream of mine since i was a kid haha

I personally love tattoos, would never get them myself just because I don't think I could pull it off, but my older sis has a bunch of tattoos both big and small. She says she wants to get a sleeve eventually but she doesn't know when. I love drawing characters with tattoos but I honestly don't get to draw them enough. I don't think people should really judge someone else for having tattoos since it's that person's body and they can do what they want to it.

I really want some small ones, nothing big since they aren?t really accepted where I am a lot of the time.. but I think if you tattoo something you really care about on you then it?s seriously so cool.

-What tattoos do you have and where? (none yeT!)
-What tattoos do you want and where? (maybe on my arms :p)
-Are you against tattoos? For tattoos? (i dont care what u do to your body honestly, if you like tattoos go 4 it!)
-What do you think of tattoos in the work place? (i don't mind any of them at all)
-Do you think tattoos will ever be accepted and considered normal? (yea why not haha, it's tattoos)
-Would you mind a leader of a country to have tattoos? (i wouldn't mind)
-If you got one did it hurt? (it probably will if get one)

- What tattoos do you have and where?
I don't have any tattoos.

- What tattoos do you want and where?
I don't want any tattoos.

- Are you against tattoos? For tattoos?
I'm not against them, I mean, everyone has to decide what they gonna do with they body.
If someone wants a tattoo, then go for it. Even if I never want any tattoos, I think there
are tattoos they are looking pretty good.

- What do you think of tattoos in the work place?
Don't have a problem with it at all.

- Do you think tattoos will ever be accepted and considered normal?
I guess? I mean, it's not such a bad thing at all (except you have tattoos that are... A
little bit too offensive. Then it could be that people will have a problem with it I guess).

- Would you mind a leader of a country to have tattoos?
Don't mind at all.

- If you got one did it hurt?
Well, since I don't have any tattoos, it didn't hurt at all. :p

I don’t plan on getting any tattoos in my life, but if I did, I would get the tattoos from Scar’s arm in FMA:B. :lemon:

-What tattoos do you have and where?
I have a flowery tattoo with a triangle on my forearm.

-What tattoos do you want and where?
I don't have any currently in mind, but I'm thinking of getting a smaller one on my ankle.

-Are you against tattoos? For tattoos?
For them!

-What do you think of tattoos in the work place?
There should be nothing against them. I personally don't see them as unprofessional. It's a way of expressing yourself, surely you'd want to express yourself to your colleagues or clients. According to most workplace uniforms or dress codes, anything on your shoulder or legs will be covered anyway.

-Do you think tattoos will ever be accepted and considered normal?
Slowly but surely. It's becoming more and more acceptable.

-Would you mind a leader of a country to have tattoos?
Pfft, no lmao. I couldn't care any less! I mean ya'll got a giant cheeto looking president so you can't really judge right?

-If you got one did it hurt?
Yes lmao. It kinda felt like my skin was being ripped apart xD I think mainly because the artist was pressing quite hard as I could feel the needle going quite deep. If you're reading this, don't let that put you off. All artists are different, as well as people's pain tolerance. Almost everyone I have talked to have said that tattoos don't hurt, so I think it's just me lol

-What tattoos do you have and where?
None yet, but I plan to get a few next year. I'm terrified of needles though, so it will take A LOT of courage ooof

-What tattoos do you want and where?
*I want a yin yang on either my shoulder or the back of my neck (my bf plans to get this in the same spot, matching tattoo ayyyeee. We both believe name tattoos aren't the smartest so we're going with a yin yang since it's a symbol we both love)
*A lion on my thigh
*A leo symbol behind my ear
*Japanese writing down my back/spine

-Are you against tattoos? For tattoos?
FOR!!!! Tattoos are beautiful, as long as they aren't offensive to anyone. I think it's important to not do anything on a whim, but rather to plan out your tattoos and choose things that you love or mean something special to you.

-What do you think of tattoos in the work place?
They should be more acceptable in work environments. Like I said, as long as they're not offensive to anyone, I believe they're completely fine.

-Do you think tattoos will ever be accepted and considered normal?
I think they're becoming more accepted already. I haven't met anyone who is against tattoos. Most people I know have at least 1.

-Would you mind a leader of a country to have tattoos?
Not at all!!!

-What tattoos do you have and where?
  • No tattoo's currently

-What tattoos do you want and where?
  • I do want tattoo's; one on my arm at the very least and I feel very inspired by roses. I've also thought about having one on my hip and side

-Are you against tattoos? For tattoos?
  • Its your body, do whatever you want. But I do think there is a boundary at some point.

-What do you think of tattoos in the work place?
  • I don't see how a piece of art is a distraction in the workplace; its not going to stop you from performing your role in the workplace so why should yu be scrutinized for expressing yourself.

-Do you think tattoos will ever be accepted and considered normal?
  • If you think about it, older people are stuck in their ways and more against tattoo's than any other generation. Progressively it could be normalized but I'm not a time traveller so I don't know.

-Would you mind a leader of a country to have tattoos?
  • Its their body, they can do what they want. Just as long as they do their job and do it well.

I have 7 right now!
A ufo on inside of left ankle.
A dagger on inside of right ankle.
A giant Jellyfish on the face of my right thigh
A lotus flower that takes up the top of my left hand.
A pisces symbol of the 2 fish with Aries horns on my right shoulder.
An octopus on my left shoulder blade
A fat buddha on my right shoulder blade.
Im totally all for tattoos in the work place if they ARE appropriate. I got my first one(octo) when I was 20. Im 23 now, but 5 of my 7 were done by friends at home.. Just go into an actual shop Im telling you though

Do you have any pics of your aquatic pieces? I've considered a jellyfish and an octopus is definitely on the list.

I've five currently and hoping to get my sixth at a Halloween flash event next week.

  • two betta fish entwined on right shoulderblade
  • geometric whale on left bicep
  • "Lebe deinen Traum" (live your dream) on right forearm
  • incomplete rose half-sleeve*
  • goldfish left thigh

*will be a good while before I get this finished. I'll either need to save up to go to London or wait for him to do another guest spot near me.
