Wii points are virtual currency which can be used to buy games from the Wii Shop Channel. 20 dollars gets you a 2000 point card. 500 points for NES games, 800 for SNES, and 1000 for N64 games. You can redeem points in two ways: buying them off the Wii shop channel using a credit card or buying a Wii points card from most retailers. And all the games on Wii Shop Channel are E-rated so there is nothing to worry about.
