Help, Animal Pictures!?

So, I heard in NL you can get an animal's picture if you are close enough to them. In WW, it usually happened with a ! over their heads. I haven't gotten one so far in NL but I heard you can only get them in letters or returning dropped items. Does anyone know a good method or way to use when it comes to getting them?

I really want to know this answer too! i've been trying the letter trick as in Wild world, but i'm not sure if its working

Katie is a special NPC that is quite rare. She shows up randomly, mainly for people who visit a lot of other towns. You automatically get her photo when you escort her to your train station so that she can visit another town. Therefore, that information doesn't help the OP at all because it has nothing to do with how you get photos from your villagers.

I've already tried that and all they do is send me other fruit and shirts and other crap.

In that case, I think all that's left is a liberal dose of patience. I talk to all my villagers regularly, whether they initiate or not. I send letters every day and I do every single favor and visit that I feasibly can. I also visit during their birthdays. I don't have a photo yet, but I seem to have a town full of happy villagers. It's only a matter of time. Hang in there!

Just talk to them a lot and send them things they like. They have certian items that they look for. Accept every request, even if you can't do it. Talk to them every day, if not every time you see them. I rarely send letters and two of my residents have sent me their pictures.

I didn't get Katie's photo, I got a digital photo frame and my friend got a sketchbook from her.

what do you mean "same with birthday invites"? I got a birthday invite the day after he moved in and talked to him once at that time, lol.

I think I know the answer. Even though the Prima guide is laden with errors, it does say that when April Fools Day comes around, Blanca makes herself look like one of your villagers and goes in to their house. Then you have to guess who the real villager is by answering a series of questions and at the end, if you guess right, they give you their picture! Idk if you can only get pictures this way, but it is one way of getting them.

Gizmodo: I don't know if it's the same for everyone's town, but Pete delivers my mail at 9am sharp. With the exception of days when events are happening, though, you usually don't get mail at all on event days.
