Early access games on steam

I haven't played any games on steam so I know nothing about it. I have seen where they have early access to some games. I'm just wondering if you buy the early access do you have to pay again when the game is officially released? I don't want to pay for early access just to have to pay again. Thanks

sometimes games in EA get abandoned though so be careful

You don't have to pay again. Often early access games are cheaper during early access before full launch. I recommend reading reviews or make sure it's something you really want before purchasing early access.
Sometimes a game stays in early access a really long time or it is super buggy for a long time.

yes its an australian game called Dinkum. looks like a cross between animal crossing and stardew valley

I have been playing that game. It is really good. It is pretty polished for an early access game.
