Do you think the cards will be region free?

Forgive me for my ignorance, I've never used amiibo before. I've gotten an email where Nintendo confirmed figures are region free, but I feel like that wasn't confirming if the cards work just like the figures or not ><

Any thoughts on this, or if anyone actually knows from prior games that would be great!

Since figures are region free it's a safe bet that the cards will be too.
