This thread is for people to talk about the Zelda series. Whether it’s discussing gameplay, story, lore, theories, or mysteries, anything goes.

I’ll start:
Thoughts on Korok seeds and Hestu’s gift?

Thoughts on Korok seeds and Hestu’s gift?
One word: Why? Why did Nintendo even think of this. 😭

Anyone want to see the Oracle games get a remaster like Link’s Awakening? I think a game combining the two would work but you need to write down passwords to unlock everything and play to the fullest potential. I mean Smog already has a new model and animation in the Chibi art style
I think this would be a great idea! I've been wanting to play all the Zelda games, but the 8-bit style of the Oracle games kinda put me off.

I’ve been waiting for forever for Nintendo to announce remakes of these games. I really want them to be remade cuz the NSO versions look old. The chibi art style is my favorite for 2D Zelda games. A YouTuber had a theory that these remakes were in development but they got scrapped early on and the project shifted to Echoes of Wisdom.

A meme I found online about Hestu’s gift. It pretty much sums it up.

Breath of the Wild

Tears of the Kingdom:
Hestu receives 1,000 Korok seeds.
You get: His gift, again, with an extra layer of…well…you-know-what.

Very funny, Nintendo.

Wow. I haven't played Echoes of Wisdom yet but I would not have expected Smog coming back LOL, that's wild. Glad to see some love for the Oracle games

Speaking of Smog, I would want an Oracles remake if only to see what they do to remix the Crown Dungeon music lol

Theory:

The Happy Mask Salesman in Majora’s Mask is actually a ghost the whole time.

Hear me out.

At the end of the game, when you recover Majora’s Mask from Skull Kid and give it back to the salesman, he laughs and walks away. In doing so, he fades out and disappears. Literally into thin air. Does this imply he was a ghost/demon the whole time? I mean, if he truly was a ghost, perhaps this was his final task that he needed to be completed before he was able to move on to the afterlife.

But here’s something that contradicts this theory:

At the beginning of the game, when Link informs him that he has yet to recover the mask, the Happy Mask Salesman picks him up and shakes him. If he truly was a ghost the whole time, shouldn’t he not be able to touch Link? His arms would go right through him. Unless he’s some sort of special kind of ghost that can touch solid objects? Or maybe he just uses magic to disappear?

What are your thoughts on this?

I second this sentiment. The Oracle games are pretty underrated and would benefit immensely from having remakes and quality of life improvements. I would have bought both games day one had they gotten remakes in the same style as Link's Awakening. Even better if both games are bundled into a 2 in 1 game, in the same way that the LoZ Collector's Edition on GameCube has 4 games in 1, plus a 20 minute demo of Wind Waker.

It's really too bad the Link's Awakening art style was wasted on Echoes of Wisdom.

I can't hate on the game too much, though, literally just because of the art style. I love the toy-like aesthetic sooo much 💖

Echoes of Wisdom is just Tears of the Kingdom but chibi, and you play as Zelda, lolol

I'd also like to see a remake of the Oracle games. Those are actually among the ones I'm considering replaying because I just recently got around to completing Echoes of Wisdom and am left wanting another TLoZ game again. So after 60-some hours I just finished getting all echoes, equipment, heart pieces, etc and finally beat EoW. I have a few thoughts on the game but I'm not sure how much is considered a spoiler if you didn't play far into it so I'll spoiler everything incase. To sum it up, I'm very satisfied with this being the first game you get to play with Zelda as the main character, I had a lot of fun, would recommend.

Overall the game reminded me of a mix of Link's Awakening and TotK. I enjoyed how like in TotK you have a lot of creative freedom with how you choose to fight and progress, especially as you unlock more and more echoes. I was surprised there were over 100 to ultimately discover. By the endgame, my favorite echoes to fight with included lynel, lizalfos, and just a swarm of crows or fire/ice octos. And for moving around the world, the water block and clouds were immensely helpful. I was a bit underwhelmed with the automatons though. I prefer the older style dungeons as seen in this game, and I'm someone who did all the shrines in BotW/TotK (although those were fun too). I think the game often felt a bit too easy, because you become so overpowered and have basically infinite healing. Getting Link's tunic on the final dojo challenge was more challenging to me than the final boss. It was satisfying seeing Zelda and Link team up at the end. I was surprised to find out that Ganon was not the main antagonist in this one. Was the Ganon we saw in the game always just an echo created by Null? (Maybe someone can clarify). It was interesting seeing Null take the forms of different bosses you previously fought. They might have been one of the scariest bosses in any TLoZ game, being able to create all these echoes and distort the world so much. Thinking of which, the still world was a very interesting concept to me, I'd like to see something like that in future games. There is something just so unsettling about it, being really glitchy looking. A last random thought, did the tri creatures remind anyone else of koroks, I wonder if there is some connection there. I guess I typed more than I meant to but I was just so excited about this game.
