Holy Hylia. How has it been two years since the release of Tears of the Kingdom? I remember when people were sooo hyped and impatient waiting for the game to come out. From the first reveal trailer in 2019, things have changed a lot since then. Theories about the lore of the game have changed over time as we’ve gotten more information. The hype has died down over the last two years. It’s strange to think that back then, 2023 couldn’t come fast enough. Now, it’s two years behind us.

I didn’t start playing the game until late April 2024, and I finished it on September 10, 2024. This game changed my life forever. It got me fully hooked on the Zelda series. It’s the greatest video game of all time in my opinion. It’s extremely massive. From the mainland of Hyrule, to the newly formed caves around the kingdom, to the mysterious sky islands above, and to the Depths below the surface. There’s so much to explore. I spent hours just exploring and finding hidden overworld secrets. The NPCs can be funny at times. (Is she really trying to talk to me from up on a table? And I try so hard not to associate with oddballs..) XD
And who could forget the bittersweet sidequest, Mattison’s Independence? I’m never having kids of my own, but seeing Mattison depart from Tarrey Town made me feel like I was in her parents’ shoes. I think I cried a little irl that day.

Here’s some official artwork for the game. Enjoy.
