Wondering How You Guys Set Up Your Towns.. Everyone/anyone can answer these ♥

1. named my mayor after my nickname (Bee) so yeah kind of!

2. i identify as agender, but i like the faces for the female character models (except for the "it's a secret"/"i'm moving there"/"yup" face for the male character model i think that one is the BEST)... but, headcannon is that Mayor Bee is happily agender as well

3. my town name is Yomi bc shinto mythology... i mean, the religious part of my family is buddhist but i still think shinto is rly cool (all of my side characters are based around death and necromancy haha im so COOL)

4. definitely "no oranges" lmao, i just get tired of them. and i also needed a river that separated the top 2/3 of my town from the bottom 1/3. i got apples and a nice river uvu

5. my VILLAGERS <3 and the placement of town hall/plaza/recycle shop are all really close to each other so i can make a cool mall out of it. i also love all of my ponds, all of the space i have, and my peninsula ahh <3333

6. favorite are apples, cherries, and peaches. least favorite is probably oranges. nothing too personal, because i love oranges irl and my favorite color is orange; i just have had them too much in game before haha

7. i try to pretend that they aren't, but i'd rather have at least a bunch of starter villagers whom i like because i am too lazy to cycle HA

Did you name your mayor after yourself? Why or why not?
I gave my mayor the male version of my name, so yeah I guess I did.
Is your mayor the same gender as you? Why or why not?
I'm a girl and I always make my mayor a girl, because when I was a kid being a girl in games wasn't an option.
What got you to choose the town name that you did?
I was reading Pride and Prejudice and in love with Mr. Darcy so I named my town Pemberly.
Did you have any "deal-breakers" when looking for a town, (ex: no oranges, no square grass, etc..)? What were they? Why?
ReTail has to be opposite the train station, I like winding rivers rather than straight ones, and I prefer the river to quite long.
What features do you absolutely love about your town, and or your town map?
Pemberly's map hit all of my map criteria. I really love how the town tree/plaza lines up with town hall.
What fruit is your favorite, and least favorite? Why?
Apples. They're my favourite IRL, and I love the way perfect apples look. Least fav is probably durians. I don't like the way they look and my villagers never want them so why bother?
Are starter neighbors important to you?
Yes. The more villagers I like the less I'll have to look for later. It kills me when a starter villager I like is in a bad spot and I know I'll have to move them out as soon as I can.

Did you name your mayor after yourself? Why or why not?

I did, because I enjoy seeing myself as a mayor of a town. It's just a sentimental feeling to me.

Is your mayor the same gender as you? Why or why not?

Yes, because if I played as a boy, it'd get kinda strange for me.

What got you to choose the town name that you did?

I love gemstones and anything related to beauty (natural beauty in objects) especially sunsets. So I chose the name Radiance for the radiance of the sun's rays and the gleam of gems. It's a personal thing.

Did you have any "deal-breakers" when looking for a town, (ex: no oranges, no square grass, etc..)? What were they? Why?

Well, I usually like my Re-Tail being somewhere near the dock for beetle farming which I used to do, but now I don't really care. I prefer green train stations and apples/peaches, but anything goes.

What features do you absolutely love about your town, and or your town map?

The blue station (so beautiful at night!) and I guess the overall feel of the place. I like the layout as a whole, especially.

What fruit is your favorite, and least favorite? Why?

My favorite is a tie between peaches and apples. I'm not sure, I just really like that. My least favorite is oranges, because... oranges. I'm not sure on that one either.

Are starter neighbors important to you?

Not incredibly, unless I want to TT to get a popular villager out and make some Bells. But I like villagers for who they are, and if one wants to leave, I usually make them stay.

Did you name your mayor after yourself? Why or why not?
I did, mostly because I suck at thinking about names for game characters.

Is your mayor the same gender as you? Why or why not?
Yes, I think because I like to simulate a role play... I guess?

What got you to choose the town name that you did?
I named my town after my favourite CFL team. So it's a personal reason. And I couldn't think of anything creative.

Did you have any "deal-breakers" when looking for a town, (ex: no oranges, no square grass, etc..)? What were they? Why?
When I started my town, no I just wanted to play. I make/made due with what I have and I am happy with it.

What features do you absolutely love about your town, and or your town map?
I find it's a pretty spacious layout - there is only one real "nook" in the map, and that's where I put my house.

What fruit is your favorite, and least favorite? Why?
I like the lemons, mostly because of how bright the game makes it look. My least favourite would be the durians. Mostly because I know how awful they smell in

Are starter neighbors important to you?
Not really, I like meeting all the new and different characters. I think I only have one starter left in my town, and I like him.

Did you name your mayor after yourself? Why or why not?
Yes. No reason, really. My name's just my name and I'm the one playing this game, so.
Is your mayor the same gender as you? Why or why not?
Yes, same reason as above.
What got you to choose the town name that you did?
My town is named after the band Bayside. Bayside's a cool band and the beach is a big part of my town, so it fit.
Did you have any "deal-breakers" when looking for a town, (ex: no oranges, no square grass, etc..)? What were they? Why?
Beach on the left side. That's really it, I think. There were some other minor things but they're apparently so minor I can't remember them right now. I basically wanted this town to be the opposite of my previous one (which had the beach on the right side).
What features do you absolutely love about your town, and or your town map?
There's this thin little area at the top right sandwiched between the train tracks and the river. Since it's such a small area (so far) no villagers have been able to move there, but I managed to get a second character's house there, so it's her own little area.
What fruit is your favorite, and least favorite? Why?
Since ACNL doesn't have strawberries, lemons are my favourite in-game fruit. Just going with IRL preferences.
Are starter neighbors important to you?
Not really, since they can move away. I did end up starting out with Rosie in this town, though, and that definitely influenced my decision to choose this town since I had her in ACWW and enjoyed her a lot.

Did you name your mayor after yourself? Why or why not?
Yes, I did! I prefer to use my real name when playing games, always have. Helps with the immersion!

Is your mayor the same gender as you? Why or why not?
Yes, because I'm female, and plus the female clothes are just that much cuter!

What got you to choose the town name that you did?
I chose ZOMGLOL because it's what I've used since the WW version, and because I was a total nerd with geek speek back in the day.

Did you have any "deal-breakers" when looking for a town, (ex: no oranges, no square grass, etc..)? What were they? Why?
No apples. Hate apples. There also must be at least one cat villager so I can immediately befriend them. Why don't I have more deal-breakers? I wasn't aware of how picky people could be with their starting villages! I was in so deep when I realised so much could be different, and I didn't have the heart to reset.

What features do you absolutely love about your town, and or your town map?
Peaches! Yay! Other than a few rocks in awful places, I luff my town!

What fruit is your favorite, and least favorite? Why?
Cherries and peaches are my favourite. Oranges are okay. Pears are green like the trees - boring. But, apples. So generic, although classic. Hate 'em.

Are starter neighbors important to you?
As long as I get my one starter cat, I'm happy. Punchy was my starter cat, and 2 years later he's still with me!

I just have some questions for you guys, if you don't mind, that will help me in deciding what to do with my own new town." Just gonna paste it and answer after the q

Did you name your mayor after yourself? Why or why not? : The first time yes, after that no went with some town themes if based on something book/movie, or just names I liked. But original town since 2013 still has my name.

Is your mayor the same gender as you? Why or why not?: Yes always, but if have an alt is opposite then can split collecting esp on clothes and storage. Having the alt can play as both so keep mayor same as mine, female.

What got you to choose the town name that you did?: First time decided not to use CF name again and love King Arthur and Medieval so named it Camelot and fairy tales it. Second it was Halloween so named after fav horror movie town, next try was from Wuthering Heights Moorland, kept it kind of wild, no places and such, Then did one random name I made Meridia idea was like Mirror town one half built up one not like upper class and lower end town opposites, after met my fianc? we were to share but not living together yet that didn't work but called it Fayette like Fated. Last newest town try named Mystique people liked it most on my what should I name it thread or didn't but it just seemed cool...have seen others though shouldn't have posted 100 possibles I made up lol. If redid or do a last new for dreams and holding as planned Luxairye or Celestia names from my list...a cycle one day may was to be Aqualuna but may swap that with Luxairye as one is New ageish which is me all over, One is just pretty and Luxairye sounds good for a cycle more than those that sound like a my town...not sure yet. Sorry long answer have done the name thing and ideas a lot and had reasons on all even spellings.

Did you have any "deal-breakers" when looking for a town, (ex: no oranges, no square grass, etc..)? What were they? Why?: Yeah, not fruit was looking for, no jump point into beach, no beach ramps right, not enough PWP space, locations of retail and major buildings and town square again pwps, houses blocking bridges or dock, Once got there too many rocks, but number one is if have at least one starter that is a dream and a missing type I know who I want to cycle for dream again, at least for the last this is true. If a cycle ever retail near tracks a must.

"What features do you absolutely love about your town, and or your town map?" My original is my fav, it's complete. I took a little top strip put a bridge and made a little sitting spot with a bench perfect trees a zen clock bamboo and on the left is the cafe with a zen bench under it for hanging out, cross the bridge straight is a while little city style section where the left half is more suburban. It took a long time but aside no paths that town I maxed pwps but wouldn't change it. Took forever to figure what to do with that narrow strip up top that's my big thing there making it a little resting hub.

What fruit is your favorite, and least favorite? Why?: Oranges least, started with them, I like Apples best, they just sparkle.

Are starter neighbors important to you?: In my original very much I had a hard time letting any go. Who is a starter matters as still dream seeking must have at least one, but one day they will be opposite important as I want a town where I get who I get don't mess with it get max friends with all until they leave and try to play it until it's had all animals at max...by then this game may be outdated but Ill still try one day if don't cycle.

Did you name your mayor after yourself? Why or why not?
I didn't name my mayor after myself because I enjoy being detached from my games so I can focus more on observing the interactions and judge the game's aesthetics. Besides, I have a soft spot for anime roleplaying and my mayor's name is an OC for Attack on Titan.

Is your mayor the same gender as you? Why or why not?
No, my mayor is not the same gender as myself -- I identify as agender while my mayor is a cis female. I can admit that my mayor's recent haircut is a boy's cut but I interpret the haircut as a pixie cut. The reason why my mayor is not the same gender as myself is because I'm still curious about female emotions because I never understood them in the first place even though I'm biologically female.

What got you to choose the town name that you did?
Attack on Titan's the anime that I paid a lot of attention to when I FINALLY decided to play the game. I actually bought the game on the release date but didn't start playing until at most a year later.

Did you have any "deal-breakers" when looking for a town, (ex: no oranges, no square grass, etc..)? What were they? Why?I had no "deal-breakers" because I believe in that we should take what we get and move on.

"What features do you absolutely love about your town, and or your town map?"
The event plaza is near the shorter beach area of my town which is beside my train station. I liked how I could add my flower arch and picnic blanket around the event plaza so there would be a more welcoming feeling if I ever had visitors to my town wanting to hang out.

What fruit is your favorite, and least favorite? Why?
My favourite fruit is the peaches because I like the golden colour to them, however my least favourite fruit would have to be pears because they the perfect pears don't look ripe.

Are starter neighbors important to you?
I'll take who I get but at some point I'll let certain ones go because my mayor either doesn't get opportunities to interact with them for some reason or that my mayor has too much interaction with certain villagers.

1 & 2. Yes, my mayor is modeled after me.
3. I really like coffee, and since I restarted my town I didn't want to reuse the name Pachi, so I took the Japanese word for coffee, and sort of anglified it (Kouhie instead of Kouhii) since the two 'i's really irritated me.
4. Apples as a native fruit, beach on right, brown train station, no small strips of land and not much on the top left side, so I would have space for a decent camping area.
5. Other than what's mentioned in 4, I really love the pretty even-looking split, and the fact that the town hall is pretty much in the center. Plus, I like the map I have planned, where the top half will be shopping and recreation (camping area, spa, caf?, ReTail, plaza, zen area, etc...), and the bottom half will be mostly for the villagers and the Town Hall.
6. Apples are my favorite, and my least favorite is probably pears.
7. They sort of are, but in my last town I got rid of all of them, and in this one I'll get rid of half of them, so I guess not really. Still, having good starters makes thing easier.

Did you name your mayor after yourself? Why or why not? I didn't. I prefer to use my nickname in games, though I wouldn't be able to tell you why exactly!

Is your mayor the same gender as you? Why or why not? Yep! Makes it easier to identify with the character.

What got you to choose the town name that you did? I chose Cadbury because.. Well, I love Cadbury chocolate.

Did you have any "deal-breakers" when looking for a town, (ex: no oranges, no square grass, etc..)? What were they? Why? Not really, the town just had to "feel right" to me. My first town didn't, so I resetted after a day. P:

What features do you absolutely love about your town, and or your town map?
I love that my villagers live relatively close together and that they tend to gather at the town plaza. Also love the long beach with a tiny private beach.

What fruit is your favorite, and least favorite? Why? Favorites are cherries and apples, which simply look the prettiest in my opinion. Don't have a least favorite.

Are starter neighbors important to you? Not very, though I'd like to have at least two villagers I like or am curious to get to know better. They are important in the sense that I get easily attached to them; I still have three out of my five starter villagers and I started the town the day after release. So they've been around for a really long time now!

Did you name your mayor after yourself? Why or why not?
I've pretty much always played AC games as myself, so yes, I named my mayor after myself.

Is your mayor the same gender as you? Why or why not?

Yup! I enjoy playing as myself in AC. :D

What got you to choose the town name that you did?

I used a town name generator and chose the best sounding one. I think StarCove sounds lovely. My brothers' named their towns similar to mine: MoonLeaf and SunBay.

Did you have any "deal-breakers" when looking for a town, (ex: no oranges, no square grass, etc..)? What were they? Why?

I was so excited to play the game that I just chose the map that looked best to me. I didn't really have anything in mind for it.

What features do you absolutely love about your town, and or your town map?

I love how long the beaches are.

What fruit is your favorite, and least favorite? Why?

I like Apples best, just because I think they look pretty in my town. My second favorite would be peaches, just because I have them in my town and I think they look nice. But I'm not a fan of pears...

Are starter neighbors important to you?

Not really. I wanted different villagers, so I didn't hang onto any of them for sentimental reasons.

1. yes and no. david is a nice name and i dont like my mayors having the same name so i opted for somethin cuter, which was cody.
2. no for both because it aint there.
3. i pick names that i feel good about. equinox has to do with seasons and onett is pretty cute too.
4. yeah, a lot.
5. equinox: no peaches, south waterfall, brown/green train station/town hall. onett: circle grass, peaches/oranges/cherries. i can change the other aspects easily, no problem.
6. idk. theyre roomy.
7. i like apples the most probably. feels classic. dont like pears because theyre green.
8. kind of, esp if they turn out to be dreamies.

i need to start playing again, lel. ill have more time next week.

Did you name your mayor after yourself? Why or why not?

Nope! I never really liked my name, and idk it just feels weird

Is your mayor the same gender as you? Why or why not?

Yep! Because Why not? ;D

What got you to choose the town name that you did?

My current town name is Meth.. I just chose it because I was SO tired of resetting and I wanted a short town name.

Did you have any "deal-breakers" when looking for a town, (ex: no oranges, no square grass, etc..)? What were they? Why?

Yep. Beach on the right side and lots of ponds around town. I like having the beach on the left for some reason and having ponds around town is just a huge PITA

What features do you absolutely love about your town, and or your town map?

ORANGE AS MY NATIVE FRUITS. And I have a huge secluded beach, which is something I really wanted for a while ;v;

What fruit is your favorite, and least favorite? Why?

Peaches and Lemons and I dislike cherry the most. Peaches look like butts and i just hate cherries D:<

Are starter neighbors important to you?
Nah. I dislike all my neighbours right now tbh

Did you name your mayor after yourself? Why or why not?

Yeah I did :) why? I don't know actually, I think it would be strange not too and plus it gave me a bit more connection to the game as if I was actually a Mayor of a real town :P

Is your mayor the same gender as you? Why or why not?

Yes my mayor is female like I am. I think it would be strange to have the main player to be a different gender plus there are WAY more girl clothes ;)

What got you to choose the town name that you did?

Before I name my town a certain name I search it up to make sure it wasn't been used, I wanted to be as original as possible. My town is forest themed so I thought about and was like: Floodway sounds like a great name! why not? So I picked it and I love it to this very day ~

Did you have any "deal-breakers" when looking for a town, (ex: no oranges, no square grass, etc..)? What were they? Why?

Sadly yes XD I love Apples and I must have them as a town fruit but cherries and peaches will do too! (my main fruit IS apples) I hate oranges and pears for reason (I just do as oranges where my main fruit on wild world and I hate pears). As for my grass I like thr triangle or circle grass but I actually have no idea what shape my grass is XD

What features do you absolutely love about your town, and or your town map?

I have tons of space to build and plus I have lots of space up north (so I can place cedar tress) and a little river with space to build houses that are out of the way. I have planned at every detail of my town and if I lose it I think I would cry ;-;

What fruit is your favorite, and least favorite? Why?

I mention it earlier but I love Apples! They fit into my forest town perfectly and I love the perfect fruit! I don't mind cherries or peaches but I hate oranges and pears! why? the perfect fruit looks horrible (the oranges are the worst!) I hate pears in real life and I was suck with oranges through my whole childhood (from my wild world town)

Are starter neighbors important to you?

depends if they involve my dreamies... I can always get rid of them like all my villagers >:D

p.s it is neighbours not neighbors :)
