Contest WINNERS ANNOUNCED- PRIZES SENT Win a White Lily or Blue Candy or Mori House Letter

I am so sorry for your loss. I'm sure Lulu was a wonderful, sweet companion.

I lost my pug three years ago. He was very dear to me. He was the first animal I got on my own after moving away from home and I raised him since he was a tiny puppy. I called him my soulmate, not in the romantic sense, but because we had such a close bond and always understood one another.

When he was 13, he had a stroke. It affected his entire right side. He had difficulty standing, walked in circles, got stuck in corners, and couldn't find or lower his head to his food bowl. A lot of people recommended that I put him to sleep, but I could see that he was still trying. He wasn't ready to give up yet and I swore I wouldn't give up on him. I hand-fed him, carried him around, and made him a new bed on the floor beside my side of the bed. He had slept on the bed with me every night since I first got him, but he couldn't anymore because he might fall off.

It was a lot of work and strain on us both adjusting to the changes, but after a few weeks I started noticing improvements. After a few months, he was able to walk and eat on his own again. He was never 100% again and we still had to maintain several of the accomodations we had made for him, but he was content and I was happy to still have him with me.

He lived to be 16 years old. The week after his 16th birthday, he suddenly went downhill. He didn't want to get up. He didn't show any interest in things anymore. It no longer felt like he was with me mentally. I knew he was ready, so I made the appointment. He went calmly and willingly with me rocking him to sleep in my arms.

I still miss him and think of him every day, but I know he's at peace now, just like your beautiful Lulu.

i’m so sorry for your loss :( i’m sure he was such a sweetheart

Hello! This is my 2nd entry, but I thought I’d make this one happy. Ruby, my current dog, is a real sweetheart. She is a Brittney Spaniel. The day we got her, I wore this pink shirt with a yellow flower heart on the front (a weird detail to remember, I know). She was really scared at first, and wouldn’t come out of her crate. My dad picked her out of the crate (she was like the size of the guinea pig) and he sat her on his knee. After that we went home, but because most dogs are motion sick, she threw up. She then slept on my moms lap for the rest of the day. Ta da! That’s my story. ❤️ you Lulu, I never met you, but you were a sweet dog.

Hey Terry! Just wanted to let you know any dog taken care of by you must have been a very happy doggo. I've never hd a pet, but I watch enough of my friends and videos to know that it pretty much is like taking care of your baby, and that takes a commitment of love and discipline. If you ever decide to get another buddy, know that it will never take the place of Lulu in your Lulu shaped spot. Also, update me on how've ya been. It's been just a short while, but I'm a year older, now 22, and I don't feel that much different. Hopefully I'll get more mature. xD
But anyways, remember the good times.
My art teacher gets this fond look when he sees the nibbled pages of an art book.
And I'm sure dogs do go to heaven, so stay tuned~
pawsome days are ahead. :3

True, when you have the privilege of adding an animal to your family, it is a commitment of love which maybe as long as 14 to 16 yrs (some kitty cats up to 20 years) ... I?m just not ready to take that on yet ... still grieving Lulu

Thank you so much! I honestly didn't expect to win anything and entered more to honor the memory of our little loved ones. You are so generous and Lulu is absolutely precious.
