Why Do/Don't You Time Travel?

When I started my new town about a week ago I put the date as June 18th, 2014. I TT forward because I'm not a fan of waiting about a month to get anywhere. By that I mean waiting for stores to slowly upgrade through days, waiting for villagers to slowly move in and waiting for my mayor benefits that require me to have 100 rating that has a daily cap. I also don't have all the time in the world since I'm in college, once I'm off reading week its back to busy school life. The only rule that I really go by right now is that once I TT to the point where I'm back at current time I am no longer allowed to time travel. Although I admit, 6 months of TTing is a lot. Oh well, its already done.

In my honest opinion, I don't see anything wrong with time travelling. Heck, it saves a lot of time for people who trade on this forum (moving villagers out, selling buy orders to people, etc)
 
I don't TT a lot, but I do to get villagers out mostly so I can make room for new ones- and I always TT back to the safe date so that it still feels like I'm playing normally/on the same time as my watch. I tend to forget the time/date I input (even if I write it down somewhere) so I try not to TT so often. But it is useful! In fact, I need to do so soon, but my turnips are keeping me from doing so.
 
I only TT now to get orders from the catalog to give to people. Other than that I don't because I get stressed when I TT.
 
I used to TT a lot to get non- dreamies out of my town.
I have the japanses copy of the game so now I TT when I feel like getting some items that I can only get in the Japanese version
Right now I'm trying to TT back to the right date but my ACNL time is still like 10 days behind x_x I know that I can TT as far as I want on the day that someone pings but I'm too scared.. I dunno why, I always did it when I was TTing non-dreamies out of my town..
 
I generally have a rule of only TTing within 1-2 weeks forward or backwards from the current date. At least I do with my new town anyway, I have TTed months ahead or back at a time before. But I like being generally at the correct time of year, but with the benefits of TTing. Sometimes I will play it in real time though. It just depends on whatever mood I'm in that day. :)
 
I time travel a little, usually in the middle of the night when I decide I want it to be daytime so I can buy things and not be bored. I'm considering just completely adjusting the in-game time... ~__~ if only because I find myself playing later and all, especially lately.
I've also gone back a number of days, only to go back forward to the current day... but I don't think I'll be doing that again any time soon. since I hecked up so bad and lost Ricky when I didn't mean to. ;__;

I have time traveled in the past, for instance to play during Halloween which I missed, or to get a villager in boxes. I don't think it's exactly cheating and I can't tell anyone how they should enjoy the game but I don't TT anymore and I kinda wish I hadn't in the first place. One of the key features of the game is that even when you shut it off the time still progresses like it does in real life. I like that things aren't just frozen in place and waiting for me to come back to the game. If I want to be patient and wait for the snow to melt for example, then I'll just have to allow the time to pass. I don't mind having to wait until 9 am for Re:Tail to open. I like that it's drawn out. Another example is the PWPs. I'm glad that you can't just build all 30 of them in one day - the game makes you wait to place them day by day. I've been taking a more laid back approach to the game where I don't need to have everything accomplished quickly or experience all the seasons and events within a short time. For me this is a game to escape the normal workday deadlines and things and it's nice to be able to do stuff at a slow pace.

I don't TT because this is my first animal crossing game and my first town and I kind of.. Want to play as intended, I suppose. I don't care if anyone else does it, it can bring really great results and I kind of want a second town to try it out, but.. Not my thing. I like playing day-by-day and seeing how everything changes. It makes me feel closer to the town. c:
 
I TT in Millwood because I play a lot so after a few hours I kinda run out of things to do and move on to the next day. Usually its just day by day because i get so bored of a day so quickly. I'm in August, year 2012 so i am not miles ahead of everyone
 
i tt bc i want to work on my town faster and also it gets boring after the first hour or two on the same day. unless you hav ppl to wifi with/trading/whatever
 
I don't time travel, cause I like to play the game the natural way. I feel that I'm more grateful for waiting for specific things. Like at the moment, I'm very fed up with the snow, but tomorrow the spring will be here, so I will be happy and appreciate it more :) The game is about real-time. But sure, sometimes I feel a little unpatient while waiting for something to unlock etc. But I would never time travel just to speed up things.
 
I TT in order to make the task of building and decorating my town a whole lot easier- even if I'm just customising a piece of furniture, I speed up with TT. I'm a very impatient person.
 
I TT when I it's necessary. Like to go ahead and get a head start on plot resetting, or to TT a villager out. Other than that I never time travel because it makes the game feel more real to me.

So generally speaking I will play any animal crossing day for 1-3 hours usually
in this time
I talk to villagers, Do some PWP pinging by diving in the ocean, Buy items from tom nooks for cataloging, visit Shrunk, fix my hybrids, water them, move normal flowers, work at brewster's do some fishing/ catching bugs to complete my roaster,
Get my furniture customized, but generally speaking I spend atleast 1 hour per animal crossing day.
 
I don't do it because in WW, I time traveled just to get the throne from Elvis from the flea market and without even thinking, it made Stitches(My super all time favorite villager) and I didn't even get to say good bye.. :/
 
I do it when I feel like it's necessary. If I need to shuffle someone on out as soon as possible, I'll TT. If I'm trying to get a bunch of landscaping done and don't want to wait three IRL days to see if the finished product is as nice as I imagined it, I'll TT. I try to keep it to a minimum because I don't want to accidentally lose villagers during the process as I have before, but I don't have anything against it and I'm not particularly in support of it either. It's a feature that you can either choose to make use of or ignore. Whatevs.
 
well, a person in my age doesn't have all the time in the world to play plus I have so many other games I want to play and that's why I time travel...a lot
 
I get bored with the game if I time travel, so I don't. Playing in real time is what makes it fun for me. Plus, I don't want to lose any of my favorite villagers.
 
I used to TT but not anymore; not since august of 2014 but i'm not opposed to it. The only time i get irritated with it is when a friend tells me they are against cheating and duping when they TT constantly. Since i have TTed a lot in the past I do understand why some do it but i also understand why others don't. The only time I would consider TTing though now is if I miss a holiday or a favorite villagers birthday.
