Why are the mouse villagers so disliked?

I had Penelope on my island as one of my starter villagers and I thought she was so cute. I was really surprised to find out that she wasn’t more popular.

Are they disliked? I find that some of them are so cute and sweet. I have Brie in my island, and I've had some of them on Pocket camp and I have mostly enjoyed them.

They’re not that bad. I definitely have favorites. Penelope, Chadder, Rod, Broccolo, and Bree are the ones I favor the most. Only one I really dislike is Moose.

Bella is the worst for me cause her cheek eczema and Samson/Moose etc. has creepy voices and yeah Limberg is basically some psychedelic wrong trip monster.

And it's not like I dislike mouse villagers, I just prefer other species over them. They're okay, just not really animals I prefer to have as permanents.

Yeah, I think it's more visible in older sprites but yeah ...ninty you don't need to promote that lol.

I personally think they don’t look all that nice and that maybe the reason they don’t get much attention there are some amazing mice but sometimes they don’t look the best

when I found out there were mice I thought I'd like them, then I saw them. I think its the egg shaped head that stops them from being cute to me, like most mice are

I think the mice or adorable. I have Rod on one of my islands and adore him! Their proportions just feel a bit strange in relation to other villagers.

i don’t see a large amount of hate for the mice compared to say,, the gorillas and hippos but overall, they kind of fall under the category where their designs aren’t all that special and so they’ve sort of become an underdog species, of sorts - it also likely doesn’t help that none of them really fit the ‘cutesy’ or ‘aesthetic’ theme that a lot of people like.

personally, i’m not big on the mice but i don’t hate them! bella, rod, chadder and bree are adorable and while no longer apart of the game, the mouse version of carmen was adorable and i’d love to see her return under a different name sometime ^_^

I like Bree. Samson is also cute. He's actually moving in from the void of someone who recently came to my island. Reveal yourself!

The kangaroos are definitely my least favorite. There are a few OK male ones but the others... Ugh. They're all so pointy

I honestly can’t stand them, their head proportions look just weird. They were probably aiming for cute like the squirrel and cub villagers but something went horribly wrong.

basically, they're incompetently designed. I've seen better fan made mouse villagers compared to the official ones.

They're not the worst species design-wise, but they could have been executed better, which is a shame because pet mice are adorable IRL. I find Bettina, Bree, Broccolo, Dora, Penelope, Rod, and Samson pretty cute.

i think its their 3d model and proportions. compared to cats/cubs/squirrels/ that have a more harmonious Head/ears ratio
the mice have a head that is really sharp and small.
while their ears are very big and feel too close to each other.
and when adding them things like eyes most a lot of them can feel unnatural to most people.
because they are already a bit weird from the first place.

Personally the mouse species design overall is just not my favorite. I think just their overall design is off putting to a lot of people! Also, I guess there's a bit of a stigma with mice irl (though I love mice irl). However! I do like a lot of the AC mice, though there are a couple I don't care for but I can honestly say that about most (if not all) species in AC.

In the end the only reason I don't keep a mouse villager in my town is simply because there are just other sepcies villagers I end up preferring of the same personality. I had 3 jocks at one point because I didn't want to let Rod go even though I prefered both of my other 2. Once I'm satisfied with my time spent with a lot of my favorites, I plan to rotate them out for some of my less favorite but still loved villagers, and that will most likely include mice! Chadder is cute, Penelope and Dora are adorable, I like Bree, Broccolo, Rod, and Samson! They're certainly an underrated villager species. Glad to see all this mice love!

I personally love Bella, Rod, Rizzo and Betiina (literally a lil' Ratatouille chef~)
Some of them I feel are brought down literally because the are mice. Like imagine if Bettina or Bree's face on cat or squirrel villagers and they'd be wayy more popular.

This game is the first time I haven't had Rizzo. It's both nice and sad. I like the grumpy little guy, but I ended up with two other crankies that I don't want to change.

I can't say much about other mice, because I haven't had them, but ones I've meet visiting are cute. I'd rather mice than some others.

I don't love or hate them. I think they are cute, but I just don't seen any of them as a dreamie. I have rod right now. I took him because he was my first island visit villager. I like him.
