I never understood the hate behind the mouse villagers. A lot of people seem to hate Bree too which I don’t understand. She is my favorite mouse! She has such cute eyes and I love her little leaf.

Now that I’m thinking about it, the hate for mice may be because Bella, Limberg, and Moose are SO ugly (in my opinion).
I agree with a few of the comments here, and I personally have mixed feelings about the mice. I love and also dislike about half of them. I love Dora, Greta, Sampson, Bella, Bree... I like others as well but cannot spell their names so I won't go on about it. I do feel that they have slightly odd shaped heads, but that isn't a big issue. Now I do not have any on my island, but only because even though I like so many of the mice, there are still other species that I just genuinely prefer. I am very critical with how I plan out my town and villagers, since I already have a squirrel, a type of rodent I suppose, I have no need for a mouse too. I would say for most people, there are probably just better options since we have like 300+ villagers I think.
I personally like the mice!! There just aren't a ton of them so there's a narrower range of looks/styles/etc compared to cats or bunnies or whatever. I'm hella attached to Chadder myself, he was in my New Leaf town for like 2 years <3 I actually think I find a higher percent of the mice adorable/cool/whatever than a lot of other species. But ofc that's just me!
The species I can't deal with though... monkeys and gorillas TAT I'm slightly freaked out by primates in real life. They're so freaking smart and they can mess you UP, dudes. (of course this is usually only when humans capture them and don't have proper habitats and conditions for them ugh) I'm like. You're HALFWAY BETWEEN ANIMAL CROSSING AND HUMAN CROSSING. PICK A LANE, CREEPOS AAAAA
I actually don't think I've ever heard anyone say they don't like the mice. I think certain ones are cute but most of them are just not my favorite tbh, if I had to choose between a mouse and another villager in the game it would probably 80% be the other villager apart from maybe gorillas, cows, bulls and maybe a few others
For me personally I just don’t like the designs of most of the mice villagers! Wouldn’t mind having Greta or Rod though. In fact, Greta visited mg campsite once and I wanted to invite her but she wanted to get rid of Judy so I had to let her go.
I think mice could have been one of the cutest villagers in the game but the design choices they made were...odd. I think it starts and ends with their odd choices of eyes (puffy, super tiny, odd expression, etc.), their hair choices (some of them are soooo bad like home cut bangs), and their expressions (I'm looking at you Moose and Rizzo). It's kind of a shame!
No hate against the mice, they're just not my favorites. If they could correct some of their design issues I'm sure they'd appeal to a wider range of people, kind of like how the hamsters are styled. They need to be cuter and less creepy!
I think the model itself is fine. Maybe the head could be a bit rounder, but considering mice have a more elongated head shape, it wouldnt be accurate.
I think it's more the fact that a lot of the designs are mediocre at best. Some are even really disliked (Moose, Limberg) which is really bad when there arent that many mice to begin with. Bree, Rod, Penelope and even cheddar have decent designs, though.
I also agree that the models are fine, but most just all have rubbish designs. Although, one of my favourites is Dora as she was an OG from my wild world playthrough when I was younger c:
As some people have said, probably because their proportions are a bit off? Their heads are so... wrong looking. That being said, I wouldn't mind having Bella or Broccolo (Broccolo's smile can stop wars and cure world hunger.) Limberg and Moose just give me the creeps tbh, and I feel like they'd whistle at me while I walked down the street in NYC :/
Never really understood why the mice are so unpopular. Several are either not interesting or can be improved, such as Samson, Moose, Bella, and Candi. My favorite of them is Dora, who’s then followed by Rod, then by Bettina. Chadder, Greta, and Penelope are ones that I like as well.
I have Limberg in my town currently, I had him initially in to get his poster and that's it... but now he's been in my town a little long than I anticipated. Bella also was camping and is gonna be moving in next week. She's my boyfriend's favorite villager because of her chaotic energy.
i only really like a few of them, bree and annacotti being personal faves of mine. i dont necessarily dislike them, except the mouse whose ears are a giant pink bow. she has cursed my bestfriends town so now we dont like her.
Mice are one of my favorite species. They're cute and there's so many good villagers such as Dora and Broccolo. I don't understand why people dislike them since the smaller, fluffier species tend to be favored in popularity.
I don't really like most of the mice designs, but I absolutely love Bella and Rod!! And my mom really loves Moose. lol I think the gorillas are the worst. lol
The only mouse I'd invite to my island is Brocollo. I had in population growing, and he's so cute.
I don't know if he'd be comfortable in an almost all cat island though. My favorite mouse was Penny. She was a peppy who lived in my first population growing town. She got cut from the game though. ☹
