Who are the best (and worst) dog villagers and why? 🐕

Imma rank by popularity, so i have to exclude 2 of the 16 dogs cause they didnt fit in the poll... pls mention them if they are your favorites

BEST: Cherry and Bones. Cherry is a goth, spunky, sisterly doge! And i find that cool and unique. Bones is so cute!!!! As soon as i saw him for the first time, i wanted him on my island. His catchphrase is really nice and i love how his hobby is play... i love when the villagers do zoomies

WORST: Benjamin. Let me just say that his face looks really creepy....

Oh no! No Benjamin on the poll I really wanted to vote for him too! I tend to love the villagers with the piggy noses!

Mac has got to be my number one fave though! I love his cute grumpy face, his sweet freckles,
little piggy nose, his ‘woo woofs’ his cute little voice!

after initially being not a big fan of any dogs, despite being a huge dog lover irl, I now like a whole lot of them, but have not had the chance to have many in game yet. (Have had bones in the past, he was okay, and currently have shep on one island and Mac on another).

my current future resident doggo wish list is (in no particular order): Goldie (bestie from pocket camp), Butch (despite being a cranky, so cute), Bea (freckles), Benjamin, and Walker (thought I hated him then saw him in game - he reminds me a little of Pochacco my favorite Sanrio character)

I don’t hate any of the dogs. I formally really did not like Shep AT ALL, then he showed up at my campsite when I had no smug and I decided to give him a chance and I actually like him. He is sweet. Needs a haircut though.

probably my least favorite now would be cherry? She reminds me of the hot topic brand of punk...however her face is cute and I like her crooked mouth. Or maybe Biskit, because I just feel I am missing something about him... Is he based on something specific?

sjsbsksn i honestly really like the dog villagers but my favourites definitely have to be benjamin, goldie, daisy, cherry and lucky! as for least favourite, while he’s not awful, i’m not very fond of shep - i’m not a huge fan of the smugs in general but i didn’t particularly enjoy having shep around and was glad to see him go.

I may have skewed the poll by voting for four favorites :')

But they're Bones, Butch, Daisy, and Shep. Bones and Daisy are just both so sweet, and Butch and Shep own a little orchard together on Muir Wood and I can't imagine the island without them, honestly. (Shep really grew on me first with his shaggy fur covering his eyes, but Butch and his absolutely dumb wild west house interior is amazing, too.)

My least favorite is probably Portia, and I admittedly think she's really cute -- she just happened to autofill a plot that I didn't want autofilled once, so I'm holding a little baby grudge.

My favorite Dog villager is Lucky, thanks to his mummy design. He has been a resident in my main New Leaf town and was a pair with Ankha until I moved her out to justify having her on my New Horizons island (since I don't want to have multiples of the same villager in separate games).

My second favorite is Marcel because of his mime/clown makeup, and third favorite is probably Butch because I have fond memories of him as a resident in the GameCube game and actually had for brief periods of time in City Folk and New Leaf as well before replacing him. I'm also fond of Portia and Shep, the latter of which I also had for a period of time in New Leaf before replacing him.

My least favorite Dog is none of them because they're all good boys and girls in their own way Benjamin. Just not a fan of the design.

i also really like shep and maddie because they're adorable, although i used to think shep was a lazy lol

then the worst are daisy, benjamin and marcel, sorry but they just look kinda creepy imo

Portia is my favourite dog villager, she's really sweet, I love her Dalmatian design, and really like the snooty personality. I also voted for Goldie and Bea as I really like them too and they were just too adorable to leave out.

My least favourite is between Biskit, most of his design is alright but I just can't get used to his eyes, or Marcel, he's not awful but I don't find his overall design very appealing.

Ugh this was difficult! I love dogs... but I haven't had a dog villager yet...
There are multiple that I like, but I voted for Bones because Wishbone and he is so cute.
Others I want to meet are Goldie, Daisy, Shep, and Cherry. The rest I may invite them over out of curiosity if I ever run into them but looking at them, they aren't as interesting as the ones I listed.
Oh I forgot to list a least favorite... hmm.. I think I would say Marcel. He looks clownish to me, and I don't like clowns and I would never have him on my island.

For some reason I'm not too fond of the dog villager design. Maybe its the ears? I prefer dogs with pointy ears rather than floppy ears. Well anyway...

Best: Lucky and Shep
Lucky because of his spooky mummy theme and Shep because of he's a sheep dog with cool vibes.

Worst: Cherry and Benjamin
Just not a fan of either one.

Bones is #1 dog in my heart always. He is such a sweetheart and he's been on my island since almost the beginning, he was the first ever villager I found on a NMT mystery island I think! Always a favorite. I also have Cookie who is also awesome. In the future I'd definitely take on Bea, Daisy, or Goldie as well. I think the only dog I'm not that into is Marcel. I'm afraid of mimes and he gives off bad mime/clown vibes. Sorry Marcel!

Bones is my favorite dog! Very cute design and I love that he reminds me of Wishbone, so extra nostalgia points for that alone. I also like Butch too for his design and cranky personality.

I think the dog I like the least is Benjamin. It looks like he had a surgery to remove his nose and only the imprint is left, which is kind of sad.

Love all the dogs! My favorites are Cookie, Butch, Lucky, and Biskit. Daisy, Goldie, and Maddie are really cute, too.

Marcel Cherry, and Mac are probably my least favorites.

I also love Lucky and Cherry a lot. Creepy mummy dog and sassy punk dog are just really awesome concept and designs.

I think lots of the dogs are cute. I have Benjamin and Mac in NL and they are both good boys. I have Daisy in CF and she is a good girl. I had Portia in GC and she is... trying her best (she was really mean, ok???) But I still love her. Plus there are many others I would love to have in my village. I really need a dog, both irl and ig.
