Which wallpaper/carpet should I use for a game room?

So I'm making my basement into a game room. I plan to have things such as the pool table, foosball table, ping pong table, crane game, and so one, as well as a little lounge area featuring a snack bar and some chairs. (and also the backyard pool because every house of mine has to have one of those whether it fits in or not) What wallpaper and carpet should I use for this room? I'm leaning towards the sleek carpet but I have no ideas at all about the wall. What do you guys think?
