Main issue is honestly just with everything being kind of "pointless" to a certain degree. The villagers need direct dialogue choices for things like job quests. I don't really get how Nintendo nailed this aspect of the game in the original Animal Crossing, and failed to return to form ever since. You need to be able to request things to do at any given point in time. The handful of times when a villager actually asks you to deliver a gift or catch a fish for them is not enough. If you run around and talk to all of your villagers for an hour, the majority of those discussions are just going to be random statements about things. It's not...great.
