What's the one thing you hate the most about the Gamecube version

I've owned the game for like 8 years and not once has a villager painted my roof

That happened a lot with me before. The normal villagers and lazy villagers won't repaint your roof, but the others can.

And congratulations for going 8 years without a villager repainting your roof. New achievement unlocked!

How you can't pick up and rearrange your flowers!

If I wanted to change up my flowers, I either had to run through them till they died (Which I found satisfying) or dig them up!

Also, how hard it is to get a perfect town! I've played GC on and off for 10 YEARS and the wishing well always says the same vague thing telling me to go to an acre and a lot of times I see nothing wrong with it, or it's like a cliff or something where I can't really do anything about!

Once I get the time, I plan on chopping down EVERY SINGLE TREE except for my cedars and replanting them and see what I need to do.

The lazy villagers, I can understand since they're, well, lazy. But what's stopping normals?

Probably too worried that you won't like the color and that you'll hate them forever? I remember that the normal types in gamecube didn't have high self esteem compared to the other types.

i hate the lack of storage space, the un-creative idea where you constantly wear a matching hat with your clothes, the fact that you need a gameboy system to go to a tropical island......

THE SECOND BRIDGE LOOKED DIFFERENT FROM THE OTHERS.

As a child it bugged the HELL out of me and I'm so glad that in NL you can have your bridges consistent... PHEW...

The villagers having the ability to repaint my roof was a NIGHTMARE! Augh, I had forgotten that feature was a thing. I hated it so much.

And the hats matching the clothes. Well, the fact that we couldn't take our hats off in the first place. Blah.

I really really hated that my favorite villagers would just up and leave without any warning at all. I would actually cry when I was very young because I was sad that I had to see them go... it's why when I reset my town I wouldn't visit any other towns because I didn't want my villagers moving there! Although, it was cool that if you had an item that you needed to give them, you could still track them down and put it in their hands (paws? hooves?)!

Although, as far as GC goes, I really like that you could occasionally have a mini island between the river and the other side of your town. Did anyone else get those? Those were the best... I always covered mine in flowers.

it gives me a super huge headache....when your character walks around the screen won't move until it reaches the edge of the screen...

I hated the lack of storage space. There were so many unorderable items but absolutely nowhere to put them!

3 item limit in closets was terribad. (also I wanted to say that I really love your username P: )

Faraway Museum was awful. I wonder, in terms of game mechanics, why they included it? Did it not occur to them to have Blathers be able to assess fossils? Did they want to prolong the fossil donating experience?

I guess the item limit, having to mail fossils and wait, and not picking up flowers but this was fixed in AFe+ so meh.

Having to mail fossils was time consuming. And, I hated how we couldn't take off those silly hats. The acre system was kind of annoying, though it did have it's good points.

Not knowing whether or not you donated something to the museum and having to go through alllllll Blather's dialogue (when he was still true to his name) every time...

The Gamecube one may be my favorite AC game (I don't even have any memories with it and bought it after I played NL, but for some reason I like it better), but I'll always be annoyed with the entire fossil mailing system. Mailing them is fine, but why do I only get 3 back the next day and have to wait for the other 2 I sent? It bugs me soooo much. I also hate how you can only sell/donate one thing at a time unless if you have multiples of the item, it takes ages.

Mailing fossils was a giant pain. Once I realized I didn't have to write anything in the letter, my life became so much easier (it still sucked though). I also really hated the ball favors. Without fail I would always kick the darn thing into the river. Every time.

I started with the Game Cube version back in 2004 when it first came out in Europe, and here's what I disliked:

- The storage system sucked. Come on, only 3 items?
- Animals could repaint your roof, and they would randomly do so, and this could not be prevented. That always made me angry...
- You could not prevent a villager from moving out. Some villagers I really liked vanished the next day, that was awful.
- You had to mail fossils to some museum, and that was tedious.
- The balls... It was very hard to get the ball to the villager who requested for one.
- You were unable to change the wallpaper and flooring of your basement. I know, it was supposed to be the actual storage room, but everyone I knew (including me) just saw it as an extra room.
- Speaking of rooms, you could only have your main room, an attic and a cellar. It wasn't until Wild World where you could have more rooms.
- You could run out of ink while writing something. That was dumb.
- Saw a gift/present on a balloon? Better hope that it gets stuck in a tree, because there is NO other way to get it down (slingshots did not exist yet)!

But, there are other features that were extremely nice, like the fact that on the southern island, you got a free house! And you had NES games in it! The password system was very practical as well (90k bells everyday)! Also, getting a golden shovel was easier, and by doing so, you got a tree with golden leaves which looked really nice in your town :)

I tend to forgive Animal Crossing: Population Growing because it was one of the first in the series, so obviously it won't be "as advanced".
It was still a good game.
