HDTV cables and wii A/V cables... I wanna know before I buy, cause I got a HDTV

Anyone got pics, or a video?

It's a shame that Wii didn't have a HDMI port, so there's no HD compatibility for the Wii.

The closest you could get it is using 720p, from Wii Component Cable (the one who has red, green and blue plugs for display, as well of the good old red and white for sounds).

It's called super-rigging. AHAHA!

Anyways, it also depends on your TV. The TV changes the look of it as well.

its not true 720 p because of the no hdmi.
David, this might be hard for you to accept, but tube TVs don't have 720 p. Some flat-screens have 4-- something p, while others have 720 p+. The TV can change the view.

im saying wii cant run in true 720 p on a 720 p tv it doesnt matter what the tv is. the highest the wii can go is 480 p

It's 480i for the Wii, but still, the TV does affect it either way.

ok lets straighten this out. the wii will be in SD no matter what if your using the red white and yellow cables. even if its on a good tv, iv you use the other "hd" cables then the wii will be in 480 p no matter the tv. even if the tv is 1080 or 720. the wii will not go up that high because it cant support it. it will always stay in 480p

Yes, that is true. But, televisions can improve the output slightly. Or maybe it's just me. Yeah, let's go with that.
They can, however, it is impossible to exceed 480p with the Wii. It can look better depending on the TV, but the max it will do is 480p.

The Component Cables (Otherwise known as HD Cables to some), will not change the graphics dramatically. The picture quality will become clearer and sharper, but that's about it. It's like taking a dull knife and sharpening the blade up, only visually.

The Wii component cables actually help a lot. Maybe it's just our TV, but the difference the component cables make is night and day. Without the component cables, the Wii's output on an HDTV is horrible. (It looks absolutely fine on a standard TV, though, which many people still have. Most people don't have an HDTV, you know.) But with the component cables on an HDTV, it looks excellent. No, it's not true HD, but it looks completely fine. It's not like it will affect your gaming experience any.
