In other words, what books/games/media have you been meaning to read/play/consume?

I feel like I currently have a lot on my content plate and it's kinda overwhelming me to be honest haha. Here's what's on my plate:

1. Re-read Les Miserables
2. Re-read LOTR
3. Read the fourth book of The Stormlight Archive series, Rhythm of War
4. Read my book club's current pick
5. Finish Pokemon Legends Arceus
6. Finish Happy Home Paradise (and complete the catalog for the 2.0 update, I barely have any of the items yet)
7. Play Majora's Mask
8. Finish Kingdoms of Amular: Re-Reckoning
9. Finish The Witcher 3
10. Finish like a ton of other switch games I bought a while ago and still haven't beat such as Mario 3D Allstars, Mario 3D World, Yoshi's Crafted World, Link's Awakening, etc. etc.

I clearly have a problem with starting a bunch of games at once and never finishing any of them. Luckily I don't watch much TV so there aren't any shows I've been meaning to watch, which leaves me time for all these books and games lmao.

Anyway, what's on your guys' content plates? And how do you manage to not feel overwhelmed with the amount of things you want to do? I feel like I barely have enough time during the day!

for me, it's playing legands: arceus, after i get it for my birthday *super looking forward to that*

Currently just grinding on CoD and Arceus. Waiting for Elden Ring next week! I also have to finish the Bloodborne graphic novel I have left.

actively? absolutely nothing asdfghj. i gave up on watching tv/movies because i have a tendency to get hyperfixated on certain characters, but i usually either don't like the show itself or the fandom or their canonical relationship etc. so it usually kind of sucks. it's much easier having my hyperfixation be my own characters, because obviously i can choose what they do and what stories to tell etc. i haven't read ""actual"" books since i was about 14, and i haven't bothered to pick up reading again since for similar reasons. it's also because media, including written, tends to have garbage representation or not the kind i'm looking for since i'm picky.

there are a few games i haven't finished. yoshi's woolly world, which i haven't picked up in over a year, and donkey kong: tropical freeze, which i kind of accidentally dropped in the wake of shiny egg hatching on shield and haven't picked up in a few months. i'm not actively looking to go back and complete them though, the former especially. the latter still has potential if i run out of things to play in the near future.

in a similar vein, i keep meaning to make some edits or do some writing, but i'm really struggling with energy/motivation these days, so it hasn't really happened, but i try to avoid putting the desire on a "to-do" list or, in this case, a content plate, because i'll feel bad if i don't get around to it. i did, at least, manage to write out a short ficlet the other day. i don't care for it very much, probably because it was a bit forced, but it was better than nothing.

Mine's as follows! I'm doing everything kinda slowly, which is ok because I'm not in a hurry.

Games to-do list:
  • Finish Spiritfarer
  • Finish Pokemon Legends
Media to-do list:
  • Keep watching the newest Pokemon Master's episodes
  • Find a new anime to watch after finishing Pokemon Masters
Reading to-do list:
  • Read at least one book (LOLLL)

I really dropped the ball on reading after I finished school... I'm hoping to read more this year though! Hopefully at least one book a year.

Spaghetti

@kayleee Like anything in life, just do it if you find it fun. Don't do it for the sake of completion. There's a time and place for chores. Doing things you like to do (whatever it may be) shouldn't be made out to be a chore.

Currently I am playing Age of Calamity. I just started it and I put it down when I've had enough. If I don't get around to beating it, then so be it.

i'm at kind of a mid point with my tv show plate at the moment! since june i've been watching grey's anatomy, but i finally managed to catch up on that.. and now i don't really know what to do with myself. i've been watching one of us is lying since that was released today, and i want to try and watch a few other shorter tv shows on my list before committing myself to criminal minds!
and then for books - i have a kindle unlimited trial that i am trying to take full advantage of, but once that runs out i have a few physical books i want to get through, starting with here's to us. my reading habit has been wavering in and out since coming to uni, but i'm in a good rhythm at the moment.
also games! i played through unpacking three times solidly, and now i'm trying to find some new stuff to get into. i keep meaning to get back into animal crossing, actually, but i feel like i have neither the time or energy to commit to my island at the moment

rooples drag race season 14 and U.K. vs the world is on my current list, but between here and then i need to watch and finish Korra. i loved ATLA and i've been meaning to get into Korra, but apparently reading one of the books helps with some content in Korra and i CBA to start a book lol

my friend still owes me (we had an exchange gift in the group and her gift for me got cancelled by the seller LOL), so I sent her a list of games on my wishlist! pixel games are the best.
- Rakuen
- To The Moon
- OneShot
- Crypt of the Necrodancer
- Monster Prom

While waiting for the games, are a few other stuff I’ve been meaning to do.
- watch Yuru Camp
- finish Cuphead
- replay LISA
- read Project Sekai band stories (currently on 25ji)
- actually progress in BDSP instead of shiny hunting 24/7
- get on ACNH and HHP at some point

Idk also if some of the fanfics I’ve been reading have been updated yet, but once I see a new chapter drop, I immediately drop everything I do and start reading LOL.

Way too much, honestly. There's no way I could list everything on my watch/read/playlists so I'll just list my highest priorities.

Books:
- Finish reading the entire Wheel of Time series. I'm just over halfway through book one and there are fifteen books in total, so this is going to take me a while.
- Read every book on my bookshelf. This is hard because I keep finding new books to buy, but I still want to read the old ones too.

Anime:
- Finish watching Attack on Titan (currently airing).
- Finish watching GeGeGe no Kitaro.
- Watch Moriarty the Patriot.

TV:
- Finish watching The Legend of Vox Machina season 1.
- Finish watching Disenchantment season 4.
- Finish watching Altered Carbon. Almost done with this one. Only one more episode to go.

Movies:
- Watch Violet Evergarden: The Movie.
- Watch Colette.

Games:
- Finish Animal Crossing: New Leaf. I still need to obtain my final badge in my main town and finish designing and decorating my second town.
- Play Animal Crossing: Wild World or replay Animal Crossing: GameCube.
- Finish any Final Fantasy game. I keep starting them but I've never managed to complete one because life always gets in the way.

- Clean out my wardrobe and give away to thrift stores and such. Really not having much time cause I either work or mom is home the hours I work so, yeah.
- Organize my cupboard that I keep stuff in. I mean most I want/need to keep but still some can be moved around or thrown/given away.
- Finish a comic, and find yet another idea for the Neopian Times. Trying to get up to x10 entries for an avatar.

Not a lot, if I’m being completely honest. I like doing things for fun and not for the sake of completion. I won’t beat myself up over not doing something. I’m not into reading books, but I do watch a lot of educational type YouTube videos. I wouldn’t mind listening to audiobooks or something, though. I just can’t get into the whole “holding a physical book in my hand and reading word for word.” In school, I always had trouble with comprehension, but I’ve always blamed the lack of interest in said books. I can dive right into something I’m actually interested in. As for anime, I can admit that I’m not big into it as most people on the forum are. However, I’m particularly interested in watching Pride of Orange. It’s an anime centered around hockey, which is something that I love. I heard it was disappointing, though? I’ll have to see for myself because I’m curious now. The trailer seemed promising. (Edit: Yeah… I have my own thoughts about it, but I’ll save it for another time. I don’t want to ramble on even more, lol.)

i’ve never heard anyone refer to it as a content plate before (thanks for the new terminology!), but i’d say my plate is relatively empty right now, which i’m thankful for as between school, depression and other responsibilities, i don’t have much time or energy for consuming new content. however, there are a few things on my plate atm.

tv & movies
i’ve been meaning to watch the sleepy hollow x bones crossover episode for weeks now, but i still haven’t gotten around to it. that episode stands between me and being 100% done with sleepy hollow... which is lowkey why i’m putting off watching it lmao. 😭
i’ve also been meaning to watch the entirety, or at least the most recent seasons, of intervention. i’ve watched what was available on amazon prime, so i’m planning on buying the rest of the show on itunes and watching it on my tablet... eventually lmao.
watch the “hang the dj”, “arkangel” and “san junipero” episodes of black mirror. i started watching “san junipero” forever ago, but i’ve yet to finish it. my priority is definitely “hang the dj”, though, since it sounds the most interesting.
after seeing a clip of it on youtube, i really wanna watch the movie blue valentine. i’ll probably be buying it on itunes as well when i’m ready to watch it.
possum is also on my ‘movies to watch’ list. it’s one of my closest friend’s favourite movie, so i wanna see it and be able to talk about it with them. :’)
and lastly, spider-man: no way home. i was supposed to see it in theatres when it first released, but i wasn’t feeling well and had to stay home. i still really wanna see it, though. 😭

games
i’m over a month behind in new horizons and haven’t played hhp for even longer than that, so resuming playing and getting caught up is definitely my priority. when that’ll actually happen, though, i have no idea.
finally start playing mario party superstars. it arrived in the mail on the worst day of my life, so i’ve been putting off playing as i’m afraid i’ll think about the events of that day the entire time. i would like to play it, though, especially since i paid around $90 for it. 😪
i’ve also been wanting to reinstall neko atsume on my phone and play it again. i have no idea why, but it’s such a cute and relaxing game. i miss how popular it used to be lol.

books
there’s not really any book in particular that i’m hoping to read atm, but i’ve plenty of recommendations that i’d like to look through and purchase eventually.

...yeah, i seem to have more on my content plate than i thought. 😅

I have so much content on my plate and I just keep piling it on 🍽️

TV / Movies (not in any order):
-Arcane
-The Witcher season 2
-Lost In Space season 3
-Money Heist parts 4 and 5
-Ru Paul's Drag Race season 13
-The Mandalorian
-The Book Of Boba Fett
-Hawkeye
-What If?
-Any and all of the Studio Ghibli movies, I haven't seen a single one
-Spider-Man: No Way Home (already seen spoilers of course but I didn't feel safe to go to the theatres so now I am impatiently waiting for digital release)
-Also I still never watched Into the Spider-Verse because my partner watched it without me and then I never got to it, but I want to see that too!

Anime:
-Demon Slayer (this is my top priority, when I get to it)
-Jujustu Kaisen
-Attack on Titan (season 4 part 2, I have not seen any of the new episodes yet)

Games:
-Pokemon Shield, I still never completed this one I basically grabbed my starter pokemon and dipped out of this game, I would like to play it though before I buy Legends Arceus or BP/SP (I still don't know which I want to buy)
-Breath of the Wild, supposed to be one of if not the best switch games out there and I have not touched it, this game is still in the plastic wrap lol
-Happy Home Paradise DLC still have not touched lmao
-It Takes Two, I bought this for my partner for us to play together so we should probably due that
++ Several unplayed 3DS games, and at least 30% of my steam library

As far as books goes this is the one area that I don't feel so overwhelmed in, since I mostly just borrow ebooks from the library which really helps me. When the book becomes available for me to borrow, I only get 3 weeks before I need to return it so it forces me to get it done. I do have one physical book to get through at some point though and that is The Anthropocene Reviewed.

I don't watch TV anymore. I don't even subscribe to any streaming services because it saves me time (easier for my hobby of fantasy writing) and money that I could spend on games. I still read manga/manhua (some habits never die) and they are series that I've been following since the beginning so it would be a shame to stop reading them. There are other books I want to read, but writing really takes a lot of time. However...there are some books I want to re-read.

Books:
1. Re-read Lord of the Rings trilogy
2 Re-read the Silmarillion

Thankfully I kept these in my library and haven't sold them.

Games:
1. Finish breeding for Pokemon Sword.
I feel I'm almost done with this with the mons that I want bred. Breeding drives me crazy though.

2. Finish Legends Arceus.
I'm already at the post-game but I'm taking my time and training mons before I get to Arceus. Some Pokémon like Munchlax still elude me so it'll take some time before I finish.

3. New Horizons remodeling.
Whether its changing of the seasons or just an artistic inspiration I feel the work on my island is never done.

Books:
  • Finish volume 2 of the Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa
  • Finish reading Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow
TV/Movies
  • Watch more of the show Lucifer
  • Watch more of the show Supernatural
  • Watch a lot of Pokémon
Gaming
  • Finish Pokémon Legends Arceus (I have a long way to go, still have to beat Kleavor, I get scared during him attacking and panic, forget to dodge) haha
  • Finish the main story in The Witcher 3
  • Finish HHP in ACNH

I have some of the content. Let's see...

Games
- Bit of New Horizons remodeling
- Final things to do in Splatoon 2 before the third game comes this summer

TV Shows
- Finish watching Around the World in 80 Days
- Finish watching season 2 of All Creatures Great and Small

Anime
- Finish watching PriPara

That is all I can add so far.

Games
  • Continue developing my NH island after I finish Pokemon Legends: Arceus.
  • Finish my Rune Factory 4 save files. (Darn 3DS's rng mechanism.)
  • Then there's a few steam games and emulators that I haven't touched in years.

Anime
  • Finish or start the second seasons for Demon Slayer, Dr. Stone, Ascendance of a Bookworm, Miss Kobayashi's Maid Cafe, Tensei ****ara Slime Datta Ken
  • Finish the last few episodes of Didn't I Say to Make My Abilities Average.
  • Watch the 2020 movie from Violet Evergarden.

Manga/Manhwas:
  • I've been reading too many otome isekais lately. Unfortunately, most of the good ones are still being updated. I should take a break.

Games:
1. I created a new character in ACNH because I have nothing else better to do in the game.
2. Still trying to complete the Post game in Pokémon Areues which is taking me longer than usual.
3. I guess maybe GTA Online, but only if there is a new update added to the game.

Movies:
1. Rewatching old classic Disney movies because TV has become so boring

Thats pretty much it.

Books:
1. Read Introduction to Forensics Science for an English Project
2. Continue reading The Empty Box and Zeroth Maria 1

Games:
1. I plan to restart my island soon and make a new challenge to not get bored with ACNH
2. I want to start playing the Lara Croft Tomb Raider game (the first one if there's more than one)

Movies/TV Shows:
1. Finish All of Us are Dead
2. Finish Inventing Anna
3. Reach 300 episodes of One Piece
4. Rewatch Avengers Endgame
5. Finish Made in Abyss
