So I had a friend come to my main town to adopt Benjamin, after clearing their void in my second town, or so at least i thought? I got a void move in from him even though he cleared his void in my second town, has anyone else had this happen?

clearing the void doesn't make it definite no one will move in, it just makes it much less likely. ^^

I've been hearing that void clearing is a myth. I feel like my whole life is a lie.

I got Pancetti from the person who adopted Rod.

Well, I just decided to go with it since she is not really bad.

But I'm still trying to get rid of Muffy for good since she was the last villager to move out from Joyville and yet got street passed to Acme.

Void clearing is not 100%. At least you are being understanding about it. There's some people who leave negative ratings if they end up with a void villager, so I avoid doing anything with them as it's not guaranteed.
I've had it done to me, both times my void should have been cleared but apparently not. People just have to be careful doing wifi if they have a space in their town or they're adopting out villagers. Hope you can get rid of the void move in soon. They are a pain but there's really no proper way to make sure it doesn't happen :(

I had this happen to me on numerous occasions. Someone adopted one of my villagers and I got Frank from their void. I also got Rodeo from someone in the same situation. How do you even clear your void though, by time traveling? I never quite understood how to clear it unless the villager is transferred to another town.

Supposedly, all you have to do is visit a town that has 10 villagers in it.

Supposedly, but apparently not always /:

Do adopted villagers go into the void?

Nope, they don't. I have never gotten a villager that has been adopted from a void

Yeah, hopefully I can get someone out. It's quite annoying making no progress in your town because no one you want out will move. It was one of my best friends though, so im really not mad about it tbh?

What do you mean clearing the void isn't a sure thing? So all this time I've been clearing my void and it didn't even matter?

More or less, yes. It's been a theory from the get-go with no 100% guarantee. I've had void villagers that moved weeks before show up in towns despite supposed "clearing". The only definite way to avoid voided move-ins is to cut off contact (Wifi, Streetpass) unless you have a full town.

Well, I guess picking up voided villagers isn't that big of a deal to me. I just thought all this time that clearing your void was a thing, I didn't know it was a myth. I've just been clearing my void because I know it matters to the people I trade with.
