Honestly hard agree at the galaxy swirl. It is beautiful 😍 Never had a special collectable, maybe one year 🤞🤞🤞

I have met so many amazing people and made great friends in team events. I’m not competitive or talented so simpler events I enjoy more 💜

Personally, I'm more of a team player than a solo one, so I've a soft spot for Camp. I've seen many friendships blossom from being on the same team, and even some from being rivals! Bonding with others and watching people who wouldn't normally interact connect with one another is very rewarding to me. When the time is right, I'll be very excited to participate in the next one.

That said, there have been challenges with team events, some of which I've experienced myself. It's sad (but completely understandable) when things like that sour the whole team experience for people. I can't promise the next team-based event will be free of issues, but I am feeling optimistic and confident thanks to all the great feedback y'all have provided. 😊

Even if the community was nice during the summer event, there’s going to be some chaos. Recalling some of the nightmares:
  • In the 2017 Fair, we had to solve some really hard mirrors, but one mirror really stood out the most. I still haven’t forgotten Butterfly Peach.
    • If that’s not all, as soon as the fair ended, they tampered with the swear filter, changing every use of the word “Halloween” with “Christmas”.
  • In the 2020 Fair, the staff made us solve cryptograms using fruit emojis.
  • In Camp TBT 2023, the Far Out Frequencies event was brutal.
  • In the 2024 Fair, we’ve been trolled with the Graham and Marina puzzles.
This is going to continue no matter what summer event we get, if we get one.

I don't know. I've enjoyed all of the events. It really depends. I really enjoyed the birthday fair last year. So maybe I really like fairs more than teams? I wasn't active enough with the enchanted fair because I wasn't in the right headspace when being a caregiver. They're both still fun. I do still think 3 weeks is a tad too long and that teams can lose a lot of momentum when their teammates leave. But I haven't really brainstormed any ways to really remedy that. I don't mind never getting 1st place, but getting dead last on all the team events isn't really a fun feeling. I agree that teams is great for bringing members together for camaraderie.

I've made a lot of friends I wouldn't have if I had taken the leap to do each one, even if there was a sense of dread at the start if our team was going to struggle. So I do have to agree with Corrie that team events are more fun when your teammates are more active. I really liked Camp 2021, but our team struggled at the end. I forget the specific reason or the goal we needed to reach, but every other team achieved it and were waiting on ours to. But since it felt like we lost so many members it was a struggle and I thought we were going to actually not reach the goal tbh lol.

Maybe not everyone liked this, but I really loved canvas crossing. I thought that was a wonderful task to add to the birthday fair. I opted out of doing some of the other tasks at the end to do more drawings for everyone. I think events like this are needed to. Gifting others and having everyone feel included.

My issue with Canvas Crossing was how some people seemed to get more drawings than others, whether it was because they had more friends or their outfit just looks "better." I only got two drawings of my rep from the event and I was admittedly envious seeing everyone else with more than that. Same with the stocking activity from Christmas 2024. I still enjoyed making mine though 🥺

If there's a similar activity like this later on, why don't we get randomly assigned to make something for one person? @/Balverine would always do that with their Secret Santa exchange, everyone drew for each other and also got a drawing. It was fair.

I don't think doing it the way Balverine does it would work. Their secret santa thread is set up in a way that everyone knows the task at hand and that if they don't do it they will be blacklisted from future secret santas. With a regular event you may end up with even more hurt feelings when hypothetically a member might shirk on drawing for their assigned member for whatever reason. And staff saying you will be blacklisted from events is a bit harsh.

I still enjoyed it. Even before I realized I had a handful who drew for me I had so much fun just drawing for others. It just made me happy to gift to others and it felt wholesome in that way. I do understand where you're coming from though and it can not be a good feeling. So I'm sorry. I think it was YGM? They messaged me saying how they didn't expect any drawings and were so happy that I included them in a drawing with (I don't know they changed their username lol) And that made me feel good that I could brighten their days with a little drawing. I tried to draw for everyone, but it wasn't realistic 😅

I understand where you're coming from! Those thoughts were always on my mind as well. That those that did participate might not get any drawings and those that hadn't might get more, which can not be a good feeling either. So I tried to draw for everyone that I knew was participating just in case they didn't get anything. Again even this was ambitious and not realistic at all. I think in total I only managed 21?

When I have a bit more time I'll see if I can draw you something to! ❤️

I honestly wanted to do more drawings but I was so burnt out by the time I got all my entries done. I think a lot of people were just burnt out otherwise, they’d probably have drawn for more people.

I’m really sorry that it hurt you. I understand completely. I really liked how it was done myself and seeing how some people went out of their way to do more drawings and not just for their friends, but I think maybe it could be done differently so everyone can get at least a few drawings. Maybe if the event is just a small one, have some staff members chip in too? (like maybe the staff members who aren’t hosting any of the activities and aren’t dealing with burnout from setting up the events and other moderating duties).

I didn’t get too many drawings either. But I shown no participation in the event whatsoever. I didn’t feel comfortable drawing others’ characters, so if something like that event happens again, I would opt out of participation. But to be truthful, I’ve gained more interest into art based on my apple characters than on my Animal Crossing characters.

By the way, wanna know where I got the glow festival idea if we decided on a smaller event? It is currently 2026. In 2016, we had the Summer Nights Fair. I’m having a hard time choosing on if we should give the glow wands and the Summer Nights theme a 10th anniversary tribute, or if we should have a culinary-themed fair.
