I would not shed a tear over that decision.
I personally used to hate them because they are quite a bit hard to obtain , but eventually in a matter of 1 week you can get 10,000 nook miles or even more , so it's not that bad.I’ll be honest, I don’t really understand why so many people are angry with NMT being used as a form of currency.
I think it's safe to say we knew what was the problem all along, then...I guess they could make them un-droppable but I feel like they would also get a lot of hate for that too. I don't think they intended for them to be currency or care much to fix it as a lot of people are happy with them, they are useful! and bells can be easily farmed and then there would be a HUGE inflation of bells, because of TT to other peoples islands with like 500-600 bell prices and selling for easy quick profits just by time travelling to Sunday each time. So bell prices for things would skyrocket, like Raymond would probably be in the hundreds of millions of bells or just un-tradable because bells aren't as needed as NMT
If they could implement a way not to time travel at all that would be amazing, I don't do it because I think it ruins the game personally. The only thing I like about it is being able to move out villagers which really helps out when trying to get your fav'sI think it's safe to say we knew what was the problem all along, then...

I gotta agree, it's just not how the dev's intended for people to play, once you do all of this and get everything you need within such a short period of time, it's easy to just set down the game and not enjoy it for what it truly is, so many memories missed. It's literally physiologically proven TT isn't good for enjoyment anyway, humans enjoy slowly working for something and getting that satisfaction of "you spent a long time and got rewarded for your efforts!" instead of instantly getting everything... just so not enjoyable and not the relaxing experience the game is truly mean't to be played..Same.
I personally think that time travelling trivializes most things in the game.
Want to get a lot of bells? Manipulate time to play the stalk market unfairly.
Want to cheat the campsite system? Manipulate time to trick the game to give you the camper you want.
Want to move out one specific villager? Time travel enough times until the game changes who's gonna move out.
Want to get all seasonal DIYs ahead of time? Time travel to a different season.
Wanna rack up thousands of NMTs? Time travel and that will be a lot easier.
Want to complete your critterpedia and your art collection? Time travel to a season where the critters you need are available, and keep going back and forth in time to make Redd appear so often you'll be able to fill your art gallery in three days...
I mean, I understand why people do that, there's a whole list of reasons... But I don't like to play the game this way.

I believe they are talking about a different kind. The one where people tt days, weeks, months at a time. I am sure most who are against tt, understand your issue and don't mind if you tt back or forwards some hours because of work or so. I tend to tt through the day too, but mostly because I am never able to play in the morning, and I love hearing the 5 am music.I wouldn’t be able to play without time travel, it would always be night time for me, I would very rarely see day or be able to enjoy the daytime things the game has to offer. Same with several friends I have who have similar schedules. It may ruin your game, but it definitely makes it so I and many others are able to play and experience it allI’m very thankful for time travel.
If NMT wasn't a currency, the market would be inaccessible for a lot of other people as well. Maybe more so than it is now. Doing the stalk market would pretty much be a requirement, and there are various people who can't do that either.Nobody really said it was, but there's multiple, valid views towards Nook Miles Tickets.
Nook Miles Tickets can generally require a bit of grinding, and therefore time invested, for people who are unable to trade or buy them in bulk.
While trading can result in items being bought for millions of bells, bells are relatively easy to earn, and therefore, more accessible, thanks to turnips. There's no real way to easily earn Nook Miles to purchase tickets.
In this way, a part of the market becomes inaccessible to new players/players who don't have the time to grind for Nook Miles/players who can't trade for Nook Miles. And that can limit some opportunities. They can't compete against others in auctions or to buy their favourite villager. Sure, people are kind enough to not ask for entry fees for things and give villagers away for free or whatnot, but sometimes these posts can be hard to come by, especially in communities in which a good proportion of people require entry fees some people can't access.
At the same time, Nook Miles Tickets are valid for certain things. The effort you would need to breed blue roses? I'd argue it's worth a Nook Mile Ticker or two. The big Robot Hero? Those rusted parts must've taken forever to collect, sure an NMT is a fair trade.
The market is wide but it just feels as if Nook Miles Tickets divide customers: those who use them to survive in the economy (because there will always be people offering services for NMTs) and those who can't access large amounts
