What gifts do you give your villagers?

Hi!! I was just curious and wanted to know what gifts do you guys give your villagers! I would love some ideas. Personally, I HATE giving them furniture because then they put it in their house. I also feel bad when they ask me favors to catch them bugs/fish and I say no because I do not want them to have it in their house either. Because of this, I only gift my villagers fruit lol. What do you guys gift them? Do you care about their houses or do you just give them whatever they please?

Yeah, mostly wrapped pieces of forign fruit. I also give them clothes or furniture that i actually like for them.

Don't kill me, I give them bugs or fish sometimes, if I see the container fits their home's decoration. Same with extra furniture of their set or that feel nice.

If I didn't give them anything when the day it's ending I'll give them fruit, I don't like not giving them anything.

But ngl, in Beau's birthday, I went to his house and forgot to bring his present, and I couldn't leave him hanging, he was so eager, so... I just gave a bug. I was so sorry I wished I could give him more stuff. But, he does talk about bugs a lot so I guess it's fineeee,,

I like picking clothes that i think might suit them, or furniture that goes nicely with their interiors. I mostly gift them things that can be put on surfaces but they act dumb sometimes and put them on the floor -_-
Sometimes i give ones that i dont plan on keeping anything that happens to be in my pocket XD

chief told me to go hand over something to fang, and the clothing item was an oversized blue and red sweater dress- (no offence, but i personally do not want my old man fang in that)-

Oh yes, that's a disaster. But also, I gave Sherb a white cosmos (thinking he would put it on his head) and HE PUT IT ON THE GROUND OF HIS HOME, LIKE MY BOY USE YOUR TABLE AT LEAST?!
I find those little disasters very amusing hahahaha

I give 'em whatever, I like that they put stuff in their houses when you give it to them. makes it more fun.

If I see them looking at something in the shop I try to buy it and gift it to them.

I also gave Kid Cat a bed, he was a starter and he was still sleeping in a sleeping bag, so I made him a bed.

I like giving them door plates as well.

I give my starting 5 (well, 3 now) furniture that I think they'd like since idrc what they do with their basic houses. I give the others clothes or fruit.

I've been giving most of them foreign fruit lately, but I also give them clothes, fish, bugs, and such. For Olaf in particular, I've been giving him noble coats, a royal crown, and other royalty themed clothing. I do also try to give my villagers an item if I see them looking at it in Able Sisters or Nook's Cranny.

If I gift a villager furniture/bugs/fish I try to stay with their theme or color match. Clothes for stuff I want 'em to wear. Misc stuff when I'm lazy.
