What gifts do you give your villagers?

Clothing or fruit, unless I see some furniture I think they’d like I also gifted Lyman a flower and he displayed it on his floor (not his empty table) which really annoyed me lmao

Honestly. I just give them whatever I happen to have in my inventory when I talk to them. I do try to go for their interests though.

i gift them flowers , fruit , furniture and clothes.

if i see they are catching a bug , i catch the bug and then i give it to them.

Fruit as well, I am also afraid of giving them anything they might put in their house, too.

Question: I gave Bluebear a blue bow to wear once, and she wore it exactly one time, then put it in her house like furniture, so I've never gifted clothes to my villager since. I'm so jealous of people who say they can get their villagers to wear the clothes they get them, but I hate that she just displays it, lol. I don't want any more of them to just display the clothing I get them. Is there some trick to this, or will they just do that if it's not something they want to wear? Is there a way to tell?

I give them clothing that I think will look cute, I’m too scared to give them furniture though because I don’t want them to ruin their homes! The fruit is a good idea to prevent this- I might start doing it

I used to give them nice furniture, thinking maybe to get something rare in return. But after getting a sweater inreturn for a kitchen island, no more...now they usually get what the last neighbor gave me.

For now I gave them all some Stuff which they can use to put clothes inside, but for some reason Rod refuses to put anything in his house, not even the Ship in a Bottle. I’m trying to gift him a Safe now and look if he uses it, because that’s a rather small item. I just don’t understand. The problem is, if I gift him clothes I am sure they are laying around all over the place, like with Monty. Maybe it has to do something with what they like + the color? Idk.

I gift them bugs or fish occasionally if they ask for them, sometimes furniture items but I try to go with their theme or something that would go well in their house if they placed it. I mostly just give them clothing that I think would look nice on them! I don't really mind if they have bugs or fish in their house, so I don't mind giving them those or selling them when they ask to buy them. Unless it's a sea bass.

I usually just give my villagers fruit so it does not mess up their house, and sometimes clothes if I think it will look good on them.

I love gifting my villagers clothing I think would suit them. It's like shopping for your best friend's birthday - I want to get them something they'd be happy to receive.

If I see smaller-sized furniture items (mini cacti, writing sets, nail sets, etc.) I'll pick those up because it won't take up half their house like the grand piano.

is it okey to gift them wall paper and flooring ? do they like it or dislike it ? would they actually use it ? I normally give a little of everything, but always trying that it will fit their style

I give my besties clothing that matches their favourite colours and style. It seems to work quite well as I rarely see Ruby in her own Rabbit Tee nowadays. And she rocks those pink sunglasses!
They mention it in conversations sometimes too, like ‘Hey, do you like this vest on me! Cool right? Of course it’s cool, you gave it to me!’ So cute!

When Brocollo is outside, wearing 3D glasses, I always chuckle. Dude, the world is already 3D outside! (Couldn’t find a pic outside, but what about him reading a 3D book, eh?)
