What Did You Accomplish On Your Island Today?

How does ordering a model of anchovy affect cooking with them as an ingredient?
I had three anchovies in my inventory saving them for a model and every time I'd be cooking something the dishes made with anchovies would show up craftable, so now the only time those dishes will show up that way is when I have anchovies I want to cook. Now I need to get the squid model done for the same reason. On the one hand I love automatically pulling stuff from storage to craft but aside from flour and sugar when it comes to cooking it's a pain in the backside because I keep a reserve of ten of each vegetable and fruit at all times as a back-up seed supply.

Yesterday, though, Flick was in town so I sent three wasps off with him. I have a ton of backlog for models and here it is a new month with a whole buncha new stuff to catch already.

Bunny Day and Cherry Blossoms are overlapping this year. On the up side I did manage to get most of the Bunny Day cards and a fair few of the Cherry Blossom stuff going, as I worked mainly on getting my crops put back in. I'm not sure if I like the new layout but since the watering can will only hit a 3x2 patch I fixed it that way and went more for deco than efficiency.

I've noticed since changing the ordinance in my town to try to get flowers reigned in my hybrid pairs/trios aren't producing flowers, not even slowly. I make sure just those flowers are watered and maybe once every two or three days there'll be a flower but the color goes back to the original parents rather than the hybrid.

Yesterday at the hotel Shep and Murphy were visitors, almost like old home week back to my original save as both of them lived there! Skye also happened along. There's something odd about the way they 'remember' you from living there, then go on talking like any other visitor.

My island is kinda empty aside from paths because I find exterior decorating daunting, so I'm taking some advice I saw and picking a small section of the island to decorate at a time. I finally got the fence recipe I needed to show up at the terminal (bamboo lattice) so I started working on a little orchard + bamboo grove area underneath Caroline and Kabuki's houses! The orchard is mostly done; I just need to add some candles or something so it's not as dark at night. The bamboo area will involve some planning though; I wanna add a pond and I'm still waiting for bamboo to grow. I'm also missing some bamboo series recipes I want to use.

I did the fourth hotel room yesterday, but I put way less effort into it than the first three because I didn't like the theme options (dreamy and childish). I'm just really not a fan of yumekawa or the kiddie series. I ended up doing a yamikawa theme that really did not look good. I suppose I could've ignored the theme and just done whatever; I might go back and redo that room later.

I added my 10th plot the other day since I had some miles saved up and Faith was at the campsite for me to invite if I couldn't find anyone on the islands. I ended up finding Peck, who was one of the two jock villagers I was considering (I was just gonna take whoever I found first between Peck and Pierce). He finished moving in yesterday and I ordered a bunch of clothes for when I can finally give him gifts.

One of the two villagers on my island I don't like, Zell, finally asked me to leave yesterday, so I'll be doing some more villager hunting tomorrow. I was surprised I found Peck so quickly the other day; maybe my luck will continue? I actually found one of my favorite villagers, Moe, before Peck, but I already have him in New Leaf so I left him.

I somehow managed to complete the 100 fish in a row achievement! I thought I'd never do it, I'm so happy you guys!!!
I finished this the other day too; congrats!

I finally got a Hot Item that used soft wood so even though it's not worth a ton it helped clean out a bunch of the over 300 pieces I had.

I tried getting more balloons with cards and most of the bunny day had sky eggs but I did get a couple more of the cherry blossom pieces. I'm what, two days in in my game, and I'm ready to be done with Bunny Day. I had a move-out bubble and quit without saving so I may spend some time going back and forth between 1 and 2 to see if I can get someone I want to move out. Out of ten villagers I'm good with four of them leaving.

I went on a couple of very uneventful trips with Kapp'n and even ventured out to a Nook Miles island.

I have created another VIP room in the hotel for one of the current guests! In this case, I chose Sly and I made him an Ancient themed room. He's like a king or pharaoh with his own personal throne and treasures today! 👑

I hope I unlock the Nintendo console items soon! Until then (and after too whenever I'm in the mood), I'll keep designing VIP rooms and contributing to the hotel!

I've only done a couple of VIP rooms and revamped one other and the console items are available in the catalog. I haven't seen any come to the shelves yet but they can be ordered. If you haven't already you might want to check that.

The move-out bubble didn't take long, basically loaded up the 2nd of April, hit the dig spots and egg trees, and discovered Hamphrey pontificating about moving. That works out great because he has a vacation home and works as head chef in the restaurant.

I TTed to get his plot empty then spent a few tickets to find someone else. I was after either another cranky or a jock seeing as how those are now down. I first found Bea, then Maddie, then Lily (every single one so tempting but I had to stick with my mission). On Ticket #4 I happened across Sheldon so he's moving in. I've never had him that I recall, and although I could've maybe done better I also could've done a LOT worse.

Oh! I need to take Chadder over to the vacation island and get him a place set up. I declare, that little mouse is getting on my nerves, traipsing around town now in nothing but a bath towel. LOL

For a nice break from Bunny week I went to the paradise island. Portia was looking for a place so I set her up with Lionel. Then I fixed up a house for Soleil.

I am seeing some sort of "confetti" raining down this page. Rocks, rings, shells, leaf, gems(?), fruit, square shapes, various colors and drawn in 3D. Can anyone enlighten me?

Yesterday was so busy I barely had time for planting my money tree. Today I had more time to play. I am trying to get a handle on how many and what types of flowers and fruits I need to DYI what 3 of my characters can do. Started a spreadsheet and hope it proves useful. Also making a tab for the handful of fossils I need to complete my collection. The art section is going to take quite awhile since most on offer to me have been fakes.

I am glad now I chose a southern island so I am not distracted by the cherry blossom gatherings during bunny week. Bunny stuff is keeping me busy enough! Spent today crafting all the Bunny DYI. Lots of balloons here today and Sly gave me a treasure hunt while I was in the midst of digging up island eggs. Barely made his 6 min deadline with only 24 seconds to spare.

I still can't figure out how I give the collected eggs to Bunny as he hasn't shown back up. And I don't know if I am supposed to sell the Bunny DYI or store it until Bunny's return or place it in my house to get the award the Bunny announced to me last Monday.

Thanks UpFalls for that anchovy explaination. Makes perfect sense. I can see how it would be annoying since the game rolled out full storage item access from any crafting station.

Crescent island -

We recently said goodbye to Friga . Today we welcomed Annalise. Now have 9 of the 10 horses. Colton will eventually join as the tenth horse . But not until after Hopper’s Birthday.
I got a new cooking recipe from Hopper.
Found a few bunny day DIY’s and started to collect eggs.
Leif is here so I was able to buy some red and white lily seeds.
Ed had me deliver a package he had gotten by mistake to Buck.

It was part of an event on here about ditto. There was a goal about reacting to posts with the temporary ditto reactions. There is now a ditto egg available in the shop for tbt.

The bunny will show back up on Sunday and he will tell you what you need to do.

Thanks! I didn't know what ditto meant. Now I do. 😆 The heads up is nice, I will plan to schedule in more Sunday game time so I can complete what Bunny explains to me.

Today I put some furniture around an empty pond area I had. I decided to theme the area after bamboo, but I didn't have any bamboo yet, so I had to go looking for it. Fortunately, I found a bamboo island using only one nook mile ticket. I picked up some bamboo trees and put them around the pond, and I put some bamboo benches and leaf piles around. I wanted to do more, but didn't have the recipes to do so.

I reflected on my island, thinking about how it may not be the greatest island in the world, but it means a lot to me and each and every area, no matter how good it looks, is a memory I will remember for a long time. I have come to appreciate my island more than ever after reflection.

That's just it, I feel that way about mine too--it's a work in progress, one bit at a time based on my whims and it would never pass a beauty contest but I'm not doing it for anyone else.

I was tired of chasing balloons and yesterday I decided to get a few more vacation homes done for my own villagers so I fixed up places for Fuchsia, Chadder, and Frita. On the island were Marshall and Claudia and they both wanted the same kind of thing so I built the home for Claudia then set up Marshall as her roommate. Then on the beach Nan came running up so I did a small hotel-type room for her on a small island. She was #30 so now I'm almost finished with the main storyline of the island. I took a break from playing and came back to listen to K.K. and get a recording.

For today, which is Sunday in my game the H.H.A. just sent me the gold award for topping 150,000 points. And to think, I did it all without matching colors!

Today, I made another VIP Room in the hotel. This time, I chose Spike and gave his room a construction theme. I thought it'd suit a tough-looking guy like him pretty well. Here's an image of the VIP Room! 👷💪

ACNH Hotel Spike's Construction VIP Room.jpg

I also helped one of the current visitors, Quinn, find a room in the hotel soon afterwards. She ended up in my hotel's modern themed room, which I think is very fitting for her.

And lastly, I decorated my island some more. I put out a few stalls offering pears, my island's local fruit🍐, for those who don't have them yet, pear smoothies to drink and the four other non-coconut fruits, once again in case any of my visitors are missing certain fruits. I also added a park fountain, a couple of garden benchs, one each near each side of the park fountain, and bushes on the sides of each garden bench. Then I put out both a skateboard and a electric skooter near the front of my house and rearranged some of the other nearby items. Since the pier can also be decorated and is bigger now thanks to the hotel, I added two palm-tree lamps on each side of the entrance, a fishing-pole rack on the left side, a surfboard on the right side and an anchor statue near the banner. And finally, I put some items on all of the rocky shore patches, including a lighthouse, a tourist camera, some pirate themed items and more.

I should definitely add some tiling onto the new fountain area later on too. I'm slowly but surely building up my island. Can't wait to finish it one day!

Yesterday and today have been chock full on Bunny stuff, being my first year in the game. Still much I don't know what to anticipate. My main character, Nugget, has all her DYI Bunny things done and they are sharing half of her basement "music" room. Thanks to her, I was well stocked going into this weekend. In between she worked on hotel rooms for wandering visitors with no place to stay. I had 4 of them this week.

On Thursday I concentrated on getting all Muffin's, Bunny DYI items for crafting plus extras to help out the other characters today.

Today, I got most of Ash's Bunny DYI done. She was lacking water and stone eggs. Today, she did one a hotel room for a wandering guest and visited an island via the boat to get the needed stone eggs. She spent about an hour just fishing and caught only one water egg. The rest of her casts brought in fish and 3 of them were new so she donated the dab, a ranschu goldfish and I forget the other one.

R.B. doesn't have very many Bunny DIY stuff cards but I got him out to fish and he picked up 3 water eggs right off the bat. So now I can finish the last of Ash's DIY for Bunny. I understand he will show up tomorrow but other than that not sure if I need to be prepared to give him eggs or the items I crafted or both. So waiting anxiously for the storyline to unfold. I have over 100 of both earth and wood eggs and a handful of leaf and sky eggs for him.

I thought the basement didn't count toward HHA points but when I got that 150,000 points I had the bunny stuff down there. Since I was way done with Bunny Day I decided to see if I could TT for a new villager and before I did ripped out the bunny stuff and stuck it in storage and put out the handful of cherry blossom things I have. Along the way of TTing my score went back down to around 135,000 points and the only thing I had changed was taking that stuff from the basement.

Anyway, I was going to see if I could find someone to replace Chadder and ran across Kabuki and was going to have him move in but when I went to set the time back to earlier so a new day wouldn't start I had forgotten to completely exit the game when I did the time adjustment, so got back in and before I realized what was going on the new day was dawning. Anyway, I went ahead another week and a couple of days and found Grizzly in the campsite, much more suited to my tastes anyway than Kabuki, so that's a win! Instead of replacing Chadder he took Nate's spot which saved me some hassle since Nate's house was already in the forest. Aside from the last go-round which took a few minutes longer Grizzly was one of the easiest campsite move-ins ever.

I'm now looking forward to being able to smack trees and catch fish without the eggs. Mercy, that was annoying! (Which reminds me--the bunny's dialogue is written as if that event should take only one day of egg hunting.)

Somewhat annoying for me as well. I needed the iron nuggets and got eggs. Needed the wood and got eggs. So I have been using flimsy tools the past couple of days.
I also found the Bunny's dialogue very confusing. He said to go collect eggs and bring them back to him. So I did but he had vanished. Someone on this forum explained he resurfaces on Sunday.
I think the whole Bunny concept could do with a rethink. A day of gathering eggs and be done with it.

Celebrated Buck’s Birthday on both Crescent and Serenity. Looked for eggs on Crescent and Avalon. Need to find more water and sky eggs. Trying to decide how to decorate a few smaller areas and the beaches on Avalon.

Yes, I think it was rather poorly hatched. I did not run out of supplies but that's because I never will use down beyond a certain amount so I have a cushion to fall back on if necessary then will restock before I start using much on it again (playing many games has taught me this).

After I had posted earlier I went on a Kapp'n trip and found one of my favorites, an Atlas Moth, plus one of those big old water bugs. I'm trying to make sure once the museum has theirs three go to storage for a model. Did I mention a few days ago I got the tarantula model done? As far as I'm concerned I've no issue trying to avoid those things in the future.

Oh, also I visited Grizzly in his house. I remember him saying when I asked him to move in that he couldn't with nowhere to put his house because he wasn't going to live on the beach again. Yet inside his log cabin is a night sky wall (can't recall exactly what it's named), a sand floor, and a camping set-up. So much for not living on the beach!

Isabelle gave me a bamboo recipe, so I used it on my new bamboo area I made yesterday. Aside from that, I gave gifts to some villagers and made some money. I'm 50k away from adding a basement to my house.

Atlas moth is one of my favs as well. After donating to Museum, I finally managed to get my 3rd last week and ordred a model. It's huge! Much taller than my character even. It's sitting in my yard right now and makes quite the statement. I've not seen a trantula yet. I see a scorpion now and then but have not succeeded in netting it. I watched a YT vid and it seems to call for advanced planning with hole digging. A bit too much a demand on me right now.

Did you have Grizzly before? The first I saw him was early March, as a wandering hotel guest. We connected. I was overjoyed to invite Grizzly to my campsite when Benedict said he was thinking about moving. Indoors, his home does look like a campsite in the beach, now that you mention it. The lot he took from Benedict is on the second level at the edge of a river fed by the waterfall and isolated a bit from Goose also on the second level but his home sits on a cliff edge leading down to the beach. Grizzly spends a lot of time on the first level fishing and wandering the plaza area. He tell me he now "knows more about the island" than I do! Blance's home is on the other side of the river from Grizzly. All of my villagers seem to get along.

I invited Molly to replace Bea maybe 4-5 weeks ago. I wish Bea was back as she was full of interesting chatter. But it was the first villager who said she wanted to travel and as her "bestie" I wanted to support that desire. Molly is pretty boring and sticks with the same laundry day speech.

Hazel makes for interesting conversation and I enjoy seeing the inside of Blanche's home. Reminds me of my years living in Japan.

Any suggestions for female villagers? I am more than ready to replace Audie or Molly and maybe Victoria when they want to move.

Well it's bunny day so I need to get moving and see what the game offers.
