I've been using the joycons but I'd rather get a different controller when eventually they don't do anymore. They're a little uncomfortable too. They used to make my left thumb hurt after playing a while but I guess my hand has grown used to them by now.
I was using my gamecube controller, but I've been letting my mom use it for her game since I bought her the switch for Mother's Day, the person I bought the switch from included a pro controller, so I've been using that. I figured my mom would have an easier time with the gamecube controller since she played the GC animal crossing first.
I usually use the joycons on handheld because when I play online with my friends it's tedious to have to keep tapping the d-pad or the joystick all the way over to a certain letter whilst trying to type a message and on handheld you can just use touchscreen.
Pro controller for both Switches. Only used handheld when visiting my other island. Purchased a 2nd pro controller when my left joy con stopped working on my 2nd switch during gameplay.
Usually just with detached joycons. I like the freedom of not needing to have both your hands close together. Sometimes I do bring in the pro controller though, mostly when I have the switch docked.
I use the Joy-Con! I tend to find Joy-Con way more comfortable than other controllers since you can sit in any position you want really (unless you're not docked) and I can just switch to my other pair if the ones I'm using are gonna die.
I only exclusively play handheld mode so joycon it is lol, haven't even docked my switch yet, I'm weird I should've had waited for the nintendo switch lite, I could've saved money that way orz
PowerA GameCube Pro controller, my joycons have drift. I've gotten used to using that controller to the point where I forget the joycons don't have the same button placement..
