I was just on the Island with other players trying to catch the oak silk moth and I had caught a whole load of bugs. I was just about to put them into the basket and go home (literally I was just past Leila) when I got the wondrous blue banner that someone was joining me. I sighed at the inconvenience but patiently waited whilst it was saving and loading when all of a sudden I got Resetti staring at me on the screen so I lost ALL MY BUGS. I JUST WASTED 20 MINUTES OF BUG CATCHING.

What bugs you about TC?

People expect you to give them bells or the clothes your mayor is wearing.

I haven't had any intense CT moments yet. Either it's empty when I go, or the people on the island stick to doing their own thing.

Club Tortimer trick: when you arrive on an island and want to fish/bug catch there, quickly go start a tour. But don't actually go on the tour, just say you want to go on one and don't sit in a chair.

When a tour is "about to depart," no other people can arrive on the island. So you now have that island all to yourself with no interruptions! And when you're done on the island, just come back inside, cancel the tour and go home.

Someone once begged me for money after scaring away a beetle I tried to catch (which is par for the course on a daytime trip), and then had the audacity to ask for my FC. What, did he think I'd want him panhandling in my town?

That said, I generally have decent experiences if I wait until it's late at night before going to the Club Tortimer island.

If you want to catch bugs, it's best to do it on your own Island. If you want to harass, be harassed, or just want some good company, go to CT.

The problem is that you can't catch bugs during the day on your own island. That's why a lot of people like club t - you can always find a nighttime island, even if it's the middle of the day where you are.

Just find an island and prevent people from arriving by setting up a tour. Then you can beetle hunt at hours that work for you, with no interruptions ^^

That's true. I always play at night, so I don't have to worry about that. Plus, you can cut down the middle trees to help bigger bugs spawn on ct, and not mess up your own Island.

Heres my rant.
Went to the Island and decided to go on tour. This boy sits down so he can go too. He doesn't play the game. All he does is ask for my friend code. I thought about flipping the wifi, because it bothered me that he would share the medals, even though he didn't help. But, I went ahead and finished the tour then left the Island right after.

I once came across an island with a yellow aloha tee that I set my sight on. I was determined to score some medals for it, but I was sharing the island with a girl I didn't know:

Girl: "Hi"

Me: ...

Girl: "How old are you?"

Me: ...

Girl: "You have a gf?"

Me: ...

*Goes on a tour*

*She joins*

Girl: *Keeps asking questions while not playing the tour*

Me: *Killing balloons like Rambo*

Now normally, when I'm not just chasing treasure on island, I'm a bit more polite. It just kind of felt she wasn't on the island for the fish, treasure or the tours! :p

Last night I got kicked off the island by Nintendo. No one was there and it error. We have a very good internet connection and it was late at night. Also the only person using the Wifi. It error twice so maybe they were working on the system. Not sure but they took 2K.

I had the same problem with another person that wanted to tour. They didn't ask for my FC but they didn't help with the balloon tour. It was the balloon one and we only got silver. Person wanted to go on another tour but I left.

I still go to CT for to visit and see what's going on. Lately a lot of the players have been very nice. Taught them the tree stump glitch.

Thank you! I'll try that sometime.

Last night it was an odd night.
First one kept saying Trade Money and STOP a lot. Finally the person said they had everything for sale.
Said I was good and all the items. No way will I trade bells for an item on the island.
Second one was standing outside and didn't answer. Person was waiting for my pockets to get full.
Three more and the person was standing at the box and than moved to the desk. The dialog went on for too long.
Blocked them and said I need to leave. When it didn't stop I said I need to leave or I'll hit it.
Person left and it started to save but error.

The third person made up for the first two people. Asked to tour and we had a blast winning medals. Both of us were working on getting the player their golden medal badge.

Today, I decided to go to Club Tortimer since I was bored. Almost every single time I went on the island, I kept meeting the most weirdest people. The first island I went to, I met a 10th grader who lived in Pennsylvania, it was funny how she couldn't even spell the name of her own state. She spelled it "pencilvenia" or something like that. She was very creepy, she would not stop asking me for personal information. First, she asked for my name, I said Atsuya, but she meant what's my real name and I told her. Then she asked me which school I went to. She thought I was somebody who went to school with her, so I asked her which state she lived in, and it turns out I live nowhere near where her. Later, she kept blabbing on how unrealistic NL seems, which I honestly couldn't give 2 ****s about how realistic she thought it was, and I told her how I thought it looked more realistic compared to past games. After, she kept saying "really mental issues -.-" "you got mental issues". I left soon after.

On the next island, I met a boy who was wearing royal clothing. The first thing he said was "im rich". I said "OK". He replied back with "31 million" and I said "cool". After 2 minutes, it disconnected. I went back and the next island had someone named Danny, and he kept talking to me about how his villager needed a signature and that needed to add someone and how he was willing to pay me in bells. I refused for reasons, one of them being that CT has a reputation for having scammers/trolls. The next island had a girl called "Kya" and someone else I forgot (I think Josh?). The guy kept talking about how he was gay and how we was looking for a boyfriend. I'm fine with that, but he would not stop talking about that and it got kind of irritating and awkward after awhile. Somewhere in the back in my head I felt like he he was just trolling, though. It disconnected, and when I went back, I met Josh again. We were chatting, and he did the exact same thing he did before the disconnect. He later asked me if I was gay, then he said "what if i kissed you?" then he started saying "-kisses-" multiple times. After, asked me to be his boyfriend and I said no since I don't date people on Animal Crossing/online/in general. After that, he demanded me that I leave the island, which irritated me even more. I ended up disconnecting.

Seriously, what the f*** is up with Club Tortimer people. Also, I kept meeting this person from Puerto Rico over and over again which was odd.

TLDR: I met a 10th grader who asked me what school I went to and kept saying random bull****. I met some kid who was apparently rich and would not stop talking about it. I met someone who was offering bells to go to my town for signatures. I met someone who asked me if I was gay and asked me to be his boyfriend. I denied since I don't date people in Animal Crossing. And I kept meeting some girl from Puerto Rico.

I had to edit the post because of a few grammar errors. Also, I met a 6 year old on the island few days later, which was by far the most awkward experience I've ever had on Club Tortimer.

Oh man, I hate it when this experience happens.
I was really unlucky one night last week or so ago and I encountered a scammer/weirdo. They begged for 2 million bells, so I told them I'd drop some bells and disconnected. Someone almost came in though at the same time, but I disconnected fast enough so it wouldn't save. I went back onto CT and there the kid was a second time. He asked me why I disconnected and I told him I didn't, it must have been the person coming in. He just said ok and begged some more. I told him, I changed my mind about the bells. He followed me around the whole time then and scared away 6 gold stags. He started saying weird things too, like how do people have babies and what makes a boy different from a girl, stuff like that. He even asked some of the other players who came onto the island about more personal and weird stuff too, so I just got out of there fast. I then went back onto CT a few hours later after dinner and guess what, I met him again. So great... it was so awkward and I just disconnected and quit for the day. Just my luck...

Is there any benefits to going to CT compared to your own island? Asides from the items you can buy for medals?

Like, are there bugs that show up more often or something?
