what are your hopes for the next update?

I think they'll release the next update after the wedding season, and since it will be July by then, I'm hoping they'll bring back diving and deep-sea creatures. I hope they can bring Kapp'n somehow, the next shop upgrade and vegetables that have been datamined. Also, I hope some rotating visitors can be rotated out (Label, Leif) by putting them with other NPCs (Label with her sister, Leif in the next shop upgrade, etc.). Finally, it would be awesome if we could get new furniture or DIY recipes.

Actually I'd say June is more likely for the update than July.

Those quality of life updates but I'm not getting my hopes up too high. Yeah sure, they adjusted the spawn rate of the eggs back in April, but I have a feeling Nintendo won't implement it at all, especially when there's a video on Youtube that shows the quality of life features.

I’ve got a lot of hopes for future updates that I’ve posted in other threads, but the next one specifically?
- Something to do with Kapp’n and his family, potentially another island that you can get to on the dock where you can learn diving and get tropical fruits.
- There’s an animation for aerobics in the game, and a new remix of the Morning Aerobics theme for the TV aerobics show... so I feel this is how the Police Station is going to be introduced into the game, so that Copper can do it as he did in the GC game.
- I’d also like Booker to have an activity? His RV was something to do with camping, so theoretically there could be an event like that, maybe even with the data mined vegetables.
- I’d also like Nook ‘N’ Go or an equivalent to be added into the game, along with a load of new furniture.
- Also, FIREWORKS FESTIVAL WITH CLASSIC NINTENDO TOY PRIZES LIKE IN NL PLS
1. Bring back Kapp'n. Hopefully it will involve getting the exotic fruits: lemon, lychee, durian, mango, persimmon and grapes. Or, some other fun summer event. I highly doubt they will bring back diving though.
2. Bring back Brewster and the Roost.
3. Upgrade Nook's Cranny. This is dire. The selection I get every day is incredibly disappointing

I think the developers have already stated that updates may (and much likely will) get delayed because of the whole COVID-19 situation, unfortunately (but also, super understandable).
I'm thinking they'll aim (hopefully) mid to late June, but I can see the update coming in early July as well.
As for what I'm hoping? Hopefully something seasonal related considering SH and NH are entering opposite seasons (winter and summer), so I'm sure it won't be too summer centric. I'm guessing Brewster + The Roost (as it has been hinted already + in datamine) along with gyroids. I'm also sure they'll bring back diving or Kapp'n + Tortimer island (maybe resort this time around?) - I don't think we'll get both, because I feel Nintendo wants to spread out these updates and content as much as they can, so if I had to guess from the two of those, I'm inclined towards diving being more likely for now.
I'm also guessing some NPC's will make a return. If not Kapp'n + Tortimer, I'm guessing Pascal will make a return (which I'd find pretty underwhelming). I also think they'll bring new events along with this update: hopefully, July firework season, Sport's Fair and Morning Aerobics.

I really hope that they fix the situation with reporting villagers to Isabelle so that they actually get rid of ugly clothes! With everything else, I have no specific wishes other than I hope upcomming events will be a little more fun than the stamp rally.

I also kinda hope they introduce a brand new RESTURANT. that might be cool, so your villagers can eat something besides Sandwiches and Doughnuts.

I'd like to be able to have buildings face all 4 directions, and order more than 5 items daily from the catalog. Also, it would be great to be able to rotate items 45 degrees.
Other than those, pretty much what everyone else has said. QoL updates (crafting multiple at the same time, skipping flimsy tools when holding all materials for flimsy and regular tool, etc.) would appease my needs for now.
