what are your hopes for the next update?

here’s what i’m hoping they’ll bring back for the summer update:

- kappn and brewster
- diving
- tortimer’s island (doubtful about this one)

and apparently they’ll be bringing summer solstice back as an event so that’ll be fun ;;

This is everything I'm hoping for as well. I shouldn't get my hopes up but I will be severely disappointed if at least two of these don't come with a summer update.

If they were really not able to get those completed due to COVID-19 then that's completely understandable. I would just like them to communicate that if that's the case. But otherwise, this is what I'm looking forward too.

More villager spaces! I felt so sad leaving behind some darn awesome villagers. I did say 12 would be the ideal number but now I think 14!
14?! I can imagine the headache and stress it would cause me to track down the villagers I want. Not to mention so much repetitive dialogue.

I'd like some fun summer events :) Maybe the Cafe back too! I miss that ol'e bird!

I really want these:

-A return of the old furniture we lost
-Dream Suite
-Gracie
-Copper and Booker
-Phyllis
-Multiplayer activities
-Improved villager dialogue variety
-Bring back the ability to ask for errands
-Actually being able to do stuff with villagers. It's awkward that they talk about food, drinks, and activities, yet none of that exists for us to do. This probably can't be done much in updates for NH, but I think it should be the primary goal for the next Animal Crossing.

The last three are what really bother me about the game more than anything. I want to engage with my villagers, but their dialogue is so repetitive and there's nothing we can actually do with them, and it's rare we even get a task. They also don't like being talked to much on top of that, which just really discourages interacting with them, and that's really sad.

I'm very happy for the design abilities added in this game, but they can't neglect the villagers like this. They were one thing that made the original Animal Crossing so special. Yet, they've only gone downhill in each game since. =(

Datamines have been saying something else.

And datamines aren't guarantees. Just because the data is in the coding doesn't mean they'll use it. Pascal wasn't in that datamine so that's not a good sign either. Diving also implies swimming. If they do decide to include swimming/diving it would be a massive update. Even though it is a returning mechanic they would have to release a trailer in advance.

I don't think Nintendo is shying away from massive updates. I mean we virtually have no information about what they are going to add to this game but with the datamining (which have been pretty accurate so far), the previous game having diving, and we being on an island, I'd put my money on them bringing it back. There's just more reason for them to include than not too.

Datamines aren't guarantee but the fact there has already been variables and fields regarding ocean creatures, we can assume that it's in the works more then it's not returning. Same with vegetables.

Wow if this is true we should get the update on June 20th. Where did you get this info?

As many of you have said I'd really like a new Nook's Cranny update, new furniture, new DIYs, Brewster, diving and maybe Kapp'n and Tortimer's Island.

I understand what you mean. I'm not saying that it won't be included at all. They will probably be bringing diving back...but not for the month of June. Like many players here I was wondering why they didn't include diving. I'll be looking forward to it when they finally do

I guess they'll announce it at the end of wedding season, and I hope we can download it by then and not have to wait until July. Since it's summer I hope they bring back summer activities, like diving and something related to Kapp'n (but I hope in a more permanent way, not like Rover). I'd also love if they finally bring back multiplayer activities to play with friends, like the games we had on Tortimer Island (and prizes..., all that). I'm also still expecting brewster and the gyroids (about damn time Nintendo), and the vegetables they datamined. I also hope they change the way visitors come to the island, only two days available for Redd (and having to share with Gulliver, Laber, CJ and Flick) it's way too less. And more furniture and recipes! There ara way too less compared with NL.
Finally some improvements to the system would be nice, like crafting several items at onces and buying more than one item at the taylors.

Sure, but like the previous update was also datamined (Leif, Redd, Museum), and everything got included. As for trailer, not sure what you nean but they did a trailer for the update as well so 🤷🏼‍♀️

I'd really love...
  • Some new DIYs/event sets to collect (in the vein of bunny day, but executed better)
  • Some shop upgrades/new shops (although I have to admit finding a spot for them in my town would be a NIGHTMARE). Maybe an expansion to Nooks or Able's, perhaps incorporating Leif, Kicks and Label. Perhaps even giving Leif his own permanent shop like in NL.
  • FORTUNE TELLING. Bring it back!! I really miss Katrina, and I'm sure there would be a way to include some witchy DIYs sort of like when Celeste visits she brings you a DIY.
  • Buff Redd spawn rates. Please. I've seen him twice.
I'm guessing the update will come June/July time after the wedding.

the dream suite is my biggest hope honestly, I'm desperate for inspiration and pictures can only help so much

I also just want Gracie and Phyllis back in some way because they're my favourite npcs.
I'd love graciegrace stuff to come back too!

basically any missing NPC coming back would make me endlessly happy though. and I'm pretty certain we'll get at least one old npc back because we got 3 in the may update (5 once wedding season rolls around and we get cyrus and reese!)

AND I WANT SANRIO/CROSSOVER VILLAGERS BACK
GIVE THEM BACK

My brain has decided that in New Horizons there is a need for the police station like there never really was in New Leaf, so I'm ready to have both police dogs back so they can tell you if anyone is visiting! I am also looking forward to Brewster. I still think he should have a business partner selling bubble tea, but I honestly don't think that would ever happen. I think it took me a while to unlock him in NL, so the timing should be about right for him. While I'm not the biggest fan of diving, I really want to see Pascal and his pirate furniture back so I'll also take diving as a fun summer activity.

Even though I am not done growing my hybrids, I miss violets and kinda hope that we can get them back. And carnations. And since it is summer, why not let us grow sunflowers? In fact, just let Leif open his own flower shop and rent us or let us use an attached greenhouse space to grow flowers. (Ok, that part might be ridiculous, but Leif deserves his own gardening shop.)

This is the only update I’m really pulling for, but I’m not holding my breath. They should definitely let us reallocate some of the EIGHT spots reserved for multiplayer, though, and I don’t think it would be a huge burden to implement— make it optional so those who want ten can stay at ten and those who want to use some of those extra slots for more villagers can do so. Seems literally win-win for everyone
