What are the most common island names you’ve seen?

I swear I see Corona and Paradise islands appearing across turnip exchange all the time. I've seen one other Hobbiton so far - probably a load more.

in new leaf, the most common names I've seen are definitely Hyrule and Westeros. there are still some with those island names now but not as much as in NL

I’ve also seen multiple Arcadia’s, so much so I keep wondering if there’s a reference I’m missing...

Edit: on the unique side, I think mine is pretty unique (Erinacea), but I’d be very happy to see another and meet the owner!

I see so many having to do with something like Topia, Island, Cove, Bay, Isle, Ville and so on, like the most common endings for islands/names to make is sound more *mysterious*/*magical*/whatever^^

My island is named The Shire, which I, luckily, haven't seen a repeat of yet, but I'm sure there is one.

I have seen a lot of islands names with "Bay" in them or the "[Name of Flower] Island", I do recall going to an island once that was named "Mar-a-lago" and I threw up in my mouth a little.

Morioh pops up almost everywhere! Haven't ran into one yet, but there's a ton of Alolas too

Also, could be wrong, but I think I read that Arcadia is Greek(?) for something along the lines of "place of peace" 🌿

I’m pretty sure no one else has Arctin as an island name. I see a ton of Alola’s islands (melemele, Akala, etc) on turnip exchange as well.

I've seen some of the ones people have already posted about too.

My island name is Maui, which honestly wasn't my first choice- I stupidly didn't consider a character limit when creating my island name so I had to come up with one last minute. I like "Maui" but I was worried many other people would also name their island Maui, but thankfully to this day I have only seen one other Maui!

Arcadia is a word for an idyllic, beautiful paradise-like natural landscape/area, with a bit of a mythical vibe to it. So it fits quite well as an island name for a peaceful, fictional island in a video game imo.

Arcadia Bay is also the name of the area where the game Life is Strange is set. I can see people naming their town after that too, the game has a strong connection to its spaciality and the town almost becomes a character in itself. Because of the character limit people probably omit the bay part.
